My husband and I looked forward to attending dance lessons at Arthur Murray every week! We worked with Adrian, who at the end of our lessons, seemed more like a friend than an instructor. When our big day came around, we danced naturally and without thought. It was so easy to dance and sing and talk with each other WITHOUT thinking about what we were doing. While private lessons and training aren't cheap... we decided to make the investment because not only did we feel comfortable on our wedding day, but we also gained skills that we can carry with us for life! Thanks to everyone at Arthur Murray for making us feel welcome and important every week! We love dancing TOGETHER now! Love, Kristen and Freddie Michaels

My husband and I took a two dance lessons with Alex, the complimentary intro and an additional hour lesson. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and responded to our lack of experience with understanding and patience. My husband and I originally looked to learn the waltz, but Alex successfully taught us a different dance in a single lesson when we expressed having difficulty with the waltz after practice. We would love to continue lessons at Arthur Murray in our future together just for fun! :)

My husband and I went to Arthur Murray a week before our wedding. Despite the short notice they were able to get us in with two back to back sessions and put together a lovely and achievable dance for us.
I would also recommend them for a date night. Something about spinning and dancing with a loved one just feels so romantic and we hope to go back for more fun sessions!

The studio is beautiful and the instructors seemed nice. I always like driving by it at night, because you can see the graceful dancers from the highway. My fiance and I went in happily for a wedding dance consultation, and came out in tears. Our consultant ended our conversation by telling my fiance what my wedding dress looked like, and continued discussing it even when I asked her to stop. She did ask what my dress looked like at the beginning and I opted to show her a picture, because I didn't want to discuss it in front of him, and even prefaced showing the picture to her, with my wishes of keeping it a secret. If you are boasting about being in this business for over 25 years, you should also know to keep your mouth shut about the look and feel of the bride's dress.

We went to the location on Van Dyke and 15 1/2 mile, and worked with Jim. We cannot say enough things about both him and the studio! My husband and I have never slow danced correctly before, and wanted to look good for our first dance. Jim made us both feel incredibly comfortable, never embarrassed or out of place. He gave us honest feedback, but always in a positive and helpful way. Our song was Everything by Michael Buble and map many guests complimented us on how well we danced! Thanks Jim!

I'm updating my review of a very frustrating initial experience with AM because they went out of their way to make it right, comping us 4 additional lessons with the best instructors they've got - Ryan and Bailey. We danced beautifully on our wedding day. Clearly, this is an organization that makes it a priority to do right by their clients. Here's a couple things that made our second 4 lessons far more productive than the first 4 lessons:
(1)Book 2 back-to-back sessions. It was difficult for us to get much traction in one 50 min session. The 1 1/2 hour lessons were much more productive. (2)Make sure you're there at low or no traffic times. When we did this, were were able to practice just our song and didn't have to worry about being in the way of all the other dancers in the studio (3)Have 2 instructors to work individually with you and your partner. This helped us learn the steps A LOT faster.
(4) Go into it prepared. We sent them a youtube video from DWTS to show them the kind of feel and choreography we wanted for our wedding dance.
(5) Make sure you see the entire dance they have planned for you before you start learning steps. This was a major mistake we made at first. We kept thinking it would all come together in the end and it never did. When we finally realized we only had one step and a turn to repeat for the entire song, the lessons were over. Then, we started over with Ryan and Bailey. They did really fun choreography and demoed it for us up front. It was exciting to see it all put together and made it SO MUCH EASIER to learn all the parts when we saw the big picture.

Hello. I sincerely apologize for the delay in responding, as we were at an out of the coun...
try event, but I definitely wanted to follow up with you after reading this review. I was very saddened by what I read and the experience you had at our studio. As a long time employee of Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Dallas and Plano, I can assure you that what you experienced is not typical of our level of service and quality. If you will allow me the opportunity, I would really love to follow up with you via telephone or email so that we can further explore what exactly happened and ensure that nothing like this happens to another bride. There are many things you mention that are definitely not our typical protocol or that should had been explained better to you. One of those things is that all lessons at Arthur Murray Dance Studios, whether Individual or Group, are 40 minutes in length, not an hour. It's been a very long time (at least 25 years) since we've offered hour long lessons, so I was really surprised to see that wasn't clarified for you. Would you please contact me at amdsplano@gmail.com and let me know the best way to reach you and which studio you took the lessons in? We understand how very important your wedding day is, and I truly apologize that you felt cheated. I realize you are happy where you are now, and that we may never have the chance to change your mind about Arthur Murray, but we'd at least like to try. If we can chat, perhaps there is something we can do. We are always striving to offer the best service and experience, and sometimes, things happen, but we definitely want to learn how and why they happened. We can't do that without your help. In addition, we would like to offer you 4 lessons on us, which we would gladly teach at a time when the studio is not typically busy or is not open to other lessons so that you would have the floor and the music to yourselves. Thank you in advance and I hope to hear from you soon.

My fiance and I took dancing lessons here to get ready for our First Dance. The staff there are absolutely fabulous and help you feel comfortable doing something new. Your teacher will design your "program" for you after having a free consultation to get a feel for what you want. The lessons are private and one-on-one, but it is in the same room with all of the other lessons going on. That is nice, to get you used to dancing with other people around, but it was kind of obnoxious because you would be bumping into people and hearing other music besides your song. It was also a bit expensive, but they try to compensate for that by letting you know to all the group classes you want to. My fiance and I did go to a few group classes, and they were really fun! Overall, I would recommend Arthur Murray to anyone looking to learn how to dance for any occasion. Just know what your budget is beforehand!

This was the best experience my now husband and I had throughout the entire wedding process... We had issues with the venue, the caterer, etc, but every time we got to dance together, it was wonderful! The instructors here are so professional, and you can tell they really care about how you look on your wedding day. They went over everything, even things we didn't think about, like how to get on the floor, how to dip at the end, how to get on the floor, and other such things. I really feel like we got to actually learn HOW to dance, not just learn steps for a dance we might not repeat. Now we move together, and it's easy to dance even when we are just in the kitchen cooking dinner and a song comes on! ;-) (He even uses it when I'm mad at him to make me smile!) Learning to dance was absolutely the best investment we ever made in ourselves! There is a reason Arthur Murray has been around for so long, and why they are definitely the cream of the crop when it comes to dance lessons!

My husband and I took dance lessons at Arthur Murray, because my husband didn't feel comfortable on the dance floor and couldn't keep with the rhythm. After 4 lessons with them, we learned a quite a few moves which impressed all of ours guest. The lessons were so worth it and we look forward to continuing our dancing in our newlywed life!

I don't like to dance... at all. Which is why we decided it was a good idea to take dance lessons so that we could learn how before the wedding. We had a 1920s inspired wedding, and I was very impressed with the knowledge of the instructors on dances from that era. They taught us the foxtrot and helped us pick our wedding song and our dance was beautiful. The thing that I did NOT like was that they try to make you get all of your lessons done with as soon as possible which was not what we wanted and we paid A LOT for our lessons, and don't understand that as a bride you are already extremely busy and can't dedicate two or three nights a week to going to dance lessons. They also didn't seem to understand that because of the location, it was extremely difficult to get to them with all of the construction on 635, and the highway was almost always shut down in the evenings so sometimes it took us over an hour to get home from dance lessons and we only live 15 miles away. We almost always had to do lessons at night because they had very little availability in the afternoon and weekends, so we always ended up in traffic and it became an all-night production. They also had to reschedule a lesson I booked three weeks out because we knew we would be super busy when we got close to the wedding and they didn't call me to reschedule until the day before and by then we had no available dates left and never got to use our last lesson. If they had more availability on the weekends and been more understanding about how busy couples already are with wedding planning we would have enjoyed the experience much more.

Thank you Arthur Murray in Plano! My now husband and I seeked for Dance Lessons for our first dance at our wedding and we are so happy we came here! Our first song was unforgettable, and A.M made sure it was! they taught us so well how to move around the dance floor. We had 8 Private Dance Lessons with our amazing teacher Lindsey and thanks to her, we were able to improvise for our wedding when i accidently step on my dress! they also taught us how to social dance to Salsa, Merengue, Two Step, Rumba, etc. It made us feel a lot comfortable on the Dance Floor all night! My husband even taught how to dance Merengue! the fun thing, he didn't know how to before A.M! We are definelty coming back for more dancing!

We are glad that we took dance lessons prior to the wedding and I would recommend it to anyone getting married, but I don't think I would recommend Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Honestly, our dance instructor spent more time trying to sell us additional dance lessons than actually teaching us. It was frustrating.

I love Arthur Murray DFW!!! They helped four left feet dance! It was actually a miracle. I nor my husband have EVER had dance experience and they taught us to dance. They made us comfortable on the dance floor; they made it fun to learn; they made us actually look good the night of wedding.

Me and my husband went to arthur murray for a consultation and were shocked when we were told it would $800 dollars for dance lessons. We were able to find a instructor at a smaller studio that used to be a arthur murray instructor for a much better price. Look around if you are on a budget there are better deals out there.

rthur Murray isn't for everyone, we are sad it wasn't with us. We do offer many different programs at our schools including programs designed for people that are on a budget. We apologize if this was not made clear to you during your consultation! We pride ourselves on offering top notch service and quality and in doing so, we are aware that we are not the cheapest lessons around. Our studio is more than one teacher, and each person must decide on the experience they are looking for. At Arthur Murray, we strive our best with a team effort to build a great dancer and provide the best service, this includes our constant training and development in all areas. Many people claim to have been trained by our company, but the only way to ensure this is to study at an actual Arthur Murray studio. Unfortunately, cheaper is not typically better, so we encourage you to research and find the best fit for you.

My dad and I took lessons so we didn't look like idiots during our dance. When we walked in, we were both overwhelmed by the livelihood and calibur of dancing that was happening. Ryan came and met us and immediately put us at ease. He was so enthusiastic about teaching us and our song selection. (Even though I am sure he has heard and taught it a million times.) Each time we went, we saw SIGNIFICANT improvement, and before we knew it, we were totally prepared. The father/daughter dance went off without a hitch, and everyone was so impressed with how well we danced together.
I would recommed Ryan as a private instructor to anyone first learning how to dance. He was so patient and kind, always excited about teaching, and never gave up. It was a great experience, with an amazing teacher, and amazing results.

We had 2 dance lessons (by purchasing a Groupon) and had fun at both! Our 2nd instructor was much better and really taught us some fun moves for the entrance and exit. We enjoyed the experience and would like to go back just for fun!

We had such a blast and learned a lot in a very quick time! It was so fun having a place to go as a couple during the stress of the wedding and unwind and just giggle. They were so attentive to us but expensive.

we spent more time having them try to convince us to bring in friends to pay for lessons and pay for more lessons than actually learning how to dance. disappointing :(

My husband to be (at the time) surprised me with dance lessons at this studio. Our instructor was wonderful and we had a blast! Be warned: the lessons are quite expensive but even my frugal husband said they were 'worth every penny'.
