Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Ridgewood

My dad (George) and I cannot say enough good things about Arthur Murray Dance Studio and our wonderful dance teacher, Nikko! Nikko did an amazing job at helping us learn various dance moves and coming up with a fun father-daughter wedding dance. Our guests were so surprised and so impressed by my dad's dance moves and that is all due to Nikko's patience, amazing instruction, and positivity! We were always greeted by a smiling face and immediately felt like family every time we attended a group or individual class. This is the second time my dad has chosen to go to this studio to learn a father-daughter wedding dance, and I'm sure he's excited to go a 3rd time if my younger sister gets married! Thank you so much for helping us gain confidence in ourselves to have fun dancing in front of our loved ones!

I loved working with Irene from Arthur Murray Dance studio to learn a beautiful dance for our wedding. It was a little bit of us time before the wedding and I loved it. It wasn't stressful and a good reason to spend time with your partner. Our dance was designed to our song, our style and our skill level. She spent time looking at all of the details, taking into account how to step in my dress, posture, how to look, etc. Our dance wouldn't be anything special without you! Thank you so much!

We first started dancing with Arthur Murray more than a year before we got engaged, just as a fun activity to do together as a couple. By the time we were engaged, we knew that we wanted to work with the staff at Arthur Murray on our wedding dance! Everyone there is very fun and supportive. During the time that we danced with Arthur Murray, we worked with almost all of the staff, and each of them had their own style and points of emphasis, which really helped us (and especially me) improve. As our wedding day approached, we worked with Frank and Nikko to craft a medley of dances so we could show off a few of the different dance styles that we had learned. Our guests loved it, and we had so much fun getting the dancing started at our wedding. We went to another wedding recently (the first since our own), and I can say that I was one of the best dancers there, which is something I would never have expected myself to be able to say. A few pieces of dancing advice: - Get started early - They would have been happy to help had we shown up a few weeks before our wedding, but taking more time allowed us to really feel comfortable not only with our first dance, but to be able to improvise all night long. At the same time, don't worry if you can't commit a lot of time to dancing. Even a few lessons will put you miles ahead of the average dancer. - Buy dancing shoes - It took us a while to try them, but dancing shoes can really help you move across the floor. - Switch partners - Don't just dance with your significant other. When you go to group classes, there are opportunities to switch partners and dance with the other couples. It's a good way to see how you can improve and learn how to communicate better with your partner when you're back together.

5, out of 5! My husband and I signed up for dance lessons a few weeks before our wedding with the Arthur Murray Dance school and they were amazing.. Leah was our dance instructor and she is very sweet and an amazing teacher! She helped us learn our dance with the time we had and was very patient with us and very encouraging! My husband and I will definitely be returning for more dance lessons! Very good environment and atmosphere as well! Thanks again!

My husband and I came here to get help with our first dance. Everyone was so professional and welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. We wanted something a little bit out of the box and didn't know if it was possible with our song, luckily they were able to understand what we wanted! Thank you to all the teachers and our dance was amazing and pictures and video are just out of this world! We will definitely be back just for fun to learn some other dances.

My husband and I went to Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Ridgewood to choreograph our first dance for our wedding. Our dance instructor, Frank, does an awesome job at not only teaching you’re the choreography but helping you to feel comfortable while doing it. He really puts you in control of making the dance your own by allowing you to decide how your dance will look. During the first lesson, he showed us multiple types of dances that we could incorporate into our first dance. During the remaining lessons, he worked with us to choreograph our dance and practice so that we felt comfortable but most importantly, that we looked good. Everyone at our wedding was so impressed with our first dance and it is a moment that we will never forget. Thank you to everyone at Arthur Murray dance studio! We would highly recommend you to anyone who needs dance lessons for your wedding or any other occasion!

We worked with Frank at Arthur Murray, and he was absolutely amazing!!! My husband is shy and didn't have a lot of rhythm, and was very tentative about dancing in front of our guests at our wedding. But Frank absolutely coaxed him out of his shell! Not only was dancing at our wedding amazing, but we attended another wedding recently and my husband had me on the dance floor the entire night! Frank also taught us a choreographed dance that we "performed" as our first dance at our wedding, and it was so much fun. I love how Frank taught us the dance, because when we had to make some last minute tweaks the day of, we did so smoothly and perfectly - because Frank had taught us the individual moves, not just a rote routine. Overall, I would highly recommend anyone taking lessons work with any of the staff at Arthur Murray Ridgewood - they really brought our whole wedding experience to another level!

My husband and I signed up for some dance lessons for our wedding. This was our best money spent throughout the wedding planning process! Frank was our instructor and he was fabulous! He made us feel very comfortable on the dance floor. Frank gave us a great choreographed first dance and even gave us some fun pointers on how to do our entrance. Each session went by so fast because we were having so much fun. This is a great studio! All the instructors were helpful and friendly, but a big thank you goes out to Frank who taught us how to have fun on the dance floor!

We visited Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Ridgewood for dance lessons for our upcoming wedding in April. We wanted to create a unique first dance routine so we would look polished on our wedding day. We had a first awkward group dance lesson and an individual lesson. Then, we signed up for 5 lessons with their wedding specialist, Frank. Frank was wonderful from the first minute we met him. He helped us narrow down our song to "It Had to Be You" by Frank Sinatra and helped us create a perfect fox trot routine for the song. Frank was incredibly patient and encouraging during each lesson. He honestly seemed thrilled to see us each time. He kept us at ease with humor and kindness. By the end of our lessons, we were gliding around the dance floor like we had been dancing our whole lives. On the day of our wedding, we had a phenomenal first dance! All of our guests kept complimenting us on a job well done. We highly recommend Arthur Murray, and especially Frank, for all of your dancing needs.

Our experience at Arthur Murray Dance Studios was absolutely amazing. Everybody was so friendly. We decided to get some dance lessons so that we could feel more confident on the dance floor on our wedding day. Julia was our dance instructor and she came up with a beautiful choreography for our first dance. She was patient, sweet, and taught us in a way that was very easy to follow and we didn't feel overwhelmed at all. We can't wait to show off our dance moves on our wedding day :)

Niko was amazing and patient. We charged him with the task of choreographing TWO dances. One was a typical first dance but the second surprise dance started immediately afterwards and was inspired by the tango scene from "A Scent of a Woman." We had no experience with the tango but after a about 12 lessons spread out months before the wedding, we were all set! We appreciated everyone's patience with us and their flexible scheduling. On our wedding night we wowed our family and friends with our moves- they had no idea we were doing any of it. The dance parties and group lessons were an extra bonus. It was a great investment and made our wedding extra special.

My husband and I were given dance lessons at Arthur Murray as an engagement gift. We took our lessons about a month before our wedding to learn our choreographed first dance, and thankfully we did because we needed all the practice we could get! Anastasia and Frank were so helpful and uplifting during our lessons. They gave us the confidence and courage to be able to perform our first dance at our wedding. Our mixture of slow and upbeat dance was a HIT, and our guests loved it! We would not have been able to do it without the help of the wonderful staff at Arthur Murray.

This dance studio is so lovely! Everyone is very friendly and helpful and truly care about what I wanted for My First Dance! Me and my fiancé never danced before and we were very nervous at first, but from the email, this place stood out amongst all the other places we contacted, very professional and knew exactly what I was looking for. They made me and my fiancé (he didn't want to do it) to feel like it is so easy and fun! We went for a free lesson, their already knew our songs (we had a few we wanted to mix) and showed us different dances so we could choose. After, they did an amazing demonstration for us and helped us plan all the details of the dance. We started to learn our routine and our teacher is great too! They even cut our music for us and made a cd! I couldn't wait for my wedding to review this place, and I am so excited for our first dance to be just like I always dreamed about! If you are looking for a place to learn your dance too, I highly recommend this studio!

We used Arthur Murray for our wedding and continue to take dance lessons for fun together as a couple! Arthur Murray's instructors know how to teach anyone from complete beginner to an advanced dancer. They are amazing dancers themselves, but are professionally trained to teach and that's what makes them so much better than other studios in the area. They are organized, thoughtful and really care about their students progress. I recommend them to everyone I meet whether they're getting married, going on vacation or looking for a fun date night-I can't say enough about how much fun we're having and how fluid and confident we feel on the dance floor thanks to Arthur Murray.

Very expensive but great service

The private lessons were great. They listened to our songs before hand and we got to practice with them. The group lessons were not so great. They were focused on making it fun, not instructional, so you could leave there doing things horribly wrong. We used a living social coupon and that made it affordable, there regular prices are OK, if only paying of private lessons.

We learned a dance 4 days before the wedding with 2 half-hour lessons and it went off well. It was really worth it. I used a Groupon, so I don't know the actual cost of lessons.

My fiance and I took dance lessons so we could dance together comfortably. We had a wonderful time at each lesson, and received lots of encouragement and developed skill in a variety of dances. We will go back for more lessons, as this became our favorite date night.

My husband and I went to the Ridgewood NJ studio for our wedding dance lessons. We enjoyed the experience of working with the instructors and had a lot of fun learning different dances to use at our wedding through the group classes. Through our private lessons, we were able to choreograph our first dance with our instructor and practice it until we felt confident to perform at our wedding. All of our guests loved our first dance! Overall, we came away from our experience at Arthur Murray with more knowledge and confidence to dance together to any type of music at our own wedding and other events in the future. We recommend this studio to anyone getting married or any couple looking for a fun way to spend time together.

My husband and I went to Arthur Murray in Ridgewood to take lessons for our first dance. In 4 lessons, we had a routine that turned out to be dynamite. Our guests are still talking about it! the lessons were fun and instructions easy. We will definitely return for more lessons.

Sasha did a great job teaching us! I didn't like that we paid for private lessons, but they weren't always private. But Sasha did a great job. Very patient. Everyone loved our dance!
