Fall Wedding Everything about the cake from the design down to the taste was amazing. All guest called to find out if we had more because it was delicious. Michael was very kind and his presentation of cake flavors was amazing. We were more than satisfied. We will be using Artistic Desserts in the future.

Michael was amazing to work with and the finished product was beyond our dreams!! My husband is a big cake guy and I was worried that we wouldn't find anything that WOWED him!! I was so wrong...from the minute the tasting started all I heard was wow that was the best cake I've ever had!!! Piece after piece. Michael thank you can never be enough but it's all I have. So THANK YOU!!!

Michael is a genius. My wedding cake was COMPLETELY gorgeous and COMPLETELY delicious. We were able to taste about 6 different cakes and they were all scrumptious. ALL OF THEM. We went with the almond. Goodness!! What an amazing cake! And this is from a woman who bakes. All my friends were concerned that I couldn’t find a baker who would meet my very high standards and to be honest, I expected it to look better than it tasted. Boy was I wrong! Michael did an amazing job. The cake was moist and beautiful and DELICIOUS. Look no further if you need a dessert for a special occasion. I would hire him again and again. He got to the mansion early and had my cake ready for photos. Every aspect of my wedding was perfect...especially the cake.

Our cake was included in our venue's package. We received cake slices at the venue tasting (before meeting Michael) to bring home with us. After eating a lot of cake, I contacted Michael to set up a planning call. The call was easy and I liked that I could share my inspiration with him on his own computer. He helped my now-husband and I work out the right design for us. We went for lemon cake with raspberry jam and raspberry cream filling and Italian cream cake with dark chocolate ganache and peanut butter cream filling. Both were amazing. I was hesitant to keep the top tier so Michael suggested that we save our top tier for a "wedding photo viewing" party, rather than our one year anniversary (brilliant idea). It was great working with him and I'm excited to get the photos back so I can eat more cake. EDIT: We received the photos back about 3 months after the wedding and the thawed cake was still just as delicious as it was on our big night.

We could not have been more pleased with our wedding cake. We simply showed him a picture of what we wanted and in turn he made it come life. It was far beyond what we imagined. The detail as well as the taste. You rarely hear about people talk about the wedding cake days after the wedding, well in this case people were in deed on its apearence as well as taste. I am excited to taste it again on our one year anniversary.

Throughout the planning stages, Michael was always available and was very responsive which was helpful to finalize the details! During such a (potentially) stressful time planning, he helps make designing your perfect cake easy! The cake was exactly what I was looking for and tasted absolutely delicious. Our wedding cake was absolutely beautiful and so delicious. My husband is vegan so we even got a small vegan cake for him that was just as good. The main wedding cake’s flower design matched my dress it was honestly a work of art. Thank you for making our day special and for giving us such a beautiful cake.

Michael and his cake truly were a centerpiece at our wedding! He has an incredible talent with his cake making (and oh my god do they taste amazing!!) and pays such close attention to details to make your cake 'yours'. He was upfront and honest about all the steps to make our cake and kept us a part of all the details and creative process. We added live flowers to our cake and Michael was on hand when delivering the cake to give it that last final touch to really bring out the beauty of the cake design. We loved it and so did our guests!! He is professional, friendly and warm to work with and gives so much advice and experience to designing your cake!! Highly recommend Michael and if you need a cake for another special occasion, he is great at that too!! (ps. ask him about his chocolate, you won't be disappointed!)

My brother and sister-in-law recommended we work with Michael and we are glad we did! From the very beginning, Michael was responsive and flexible. We went to his house for the cake tasting and it was amazing. His cake and filling options are unique and we designed our cake together at the tasting. He made us a four tier cake with two different cakes and fillings. We had a gold cake stand and he was able to match the gold perfectly on the cake. Working with Michael was a true pleasure. He was 100% ready for us at the tasting with a lot of delicious samples and guided us through the process of making our selections. It was nice to be able to offer several different flavors of cake at our reception. He delivered the dessert to our wedding just as promised and we had a ton of positive feedback from our guests. PS ... the peanut butter flavor was my personal favorite!

Michael took the time to explain everything in detail prior to our wedding reception, giving helpful advice on the look of our cake. Our cake turned out just as we had imagined it to! Michael & Artistic Desserts made the perfect cake for our August wedding. From our cake tasting, I was sold! We ended up going with two different flavors and both were delicious! For the design, I showed Michael a picture from Pinterest and he was able to create exactly what I wanted. In addition to the quality, Michael was very responsive and even called to check in with me the week before the wedding. My husband and I made our own cake topper and he gave great advice on how to best incorporate that with the cake. We would recommend Artistic Desserts :)

Michael did an excellent job with our wedding cake. He made the cake exactly how we wanted it, and it tasted AMAZING. He also happened to be present when our florist dropped off some small succulents for use on the cake, and Michael placed them exactly how we had envisioned. Not only was our cake DELICIOUS, but it was beautiful as well. Michael, worked with us to design a cake and offered suggestions for the overall look. The cake was amazing. Many of our guests raved, noting that they had multiples slices because it was phenomenal! Will definitely be ordering other cakes for Artistic Desserts!

The second greatest day of our marriage (besides our wedding day) will be when we get to eat more of our wedding cake! Michael did a fantastic job! He was so easy to work with and our cake was out of this world. Definitely recommend!

Book Artistic Desserts as fast as you can! Michael worked with us to design a gorgeous cake with two flavors that looked elegant and tasted AMAZING! So good, in fact, that, even though we were only married 6 days ago, we are halfway through eating the top tier we were supposed to save for the one year anniversary... oops. Seriously, the cake tasted so good that I received numerous compliments from guests, and I will be purchasing another cake in the same flavor for my husband's upcoming birthday. THAT is how good it was. Book Michael immediately but pack some Spanx for your wedding dress because the cake is gorgeous and irresistible!

My husband and I absolutely adored our cake! It was elegant and fit the space beautifully. But, let's be honest, taste is the most important thing and several guests told us it was best wedding cake they've ever had. I might be biased, but I have to agree! It was moist, flavorful and the butter cream was light with just the right amount of sweetness. To top it off, Michael helped me to create a Prince themed Groom's cake that was a total hit. I was able to customize the flavor and he even created a chocolate frame with a sugar print out of the artist himself. It was perfect. I would absolutely recommend this vendor to anyone!

Michael did our wedding cake and he was so easy and nice to work with. We had a call to go through pictures and he accommodated what we were looking for and it turned out beautifully! We also weren't able to do the flavor we wanted because of some allergies our guests had so he made a smaller cake for me and my husband to have that night. I highly recommend Artisitic Desserts!!

We LOVED Artistic Desserts!!! Picking the cake was by far the easiest thing I did, thanks to Michael. Our cake looked fabulous, and it tasted absolutely delicious! A piece of each type of cake was delivered to our tasting in Baltimore so we had time to taste them and think about what we really wanted. His use of a Webinar to plan the design of my cake was perfect because I was able to communicate with him easily online, at home! He showed me pictures and then came up with a beautiful design to match exactly what I wanted. He even provided a ribbon swatch to match my colors, and added live flowers from the Flourist the day of delivery! He is professional and super easy to communicate with. He will even make us a fresh top layer for our first anniversary at a discounted cost! I highly recommend Artistic Deserts for the best wedding cake you could have.

One of the most exciting part of the wedding was choosing our wedding cake. Chef Michael is very down to earth as well as professional. The choices and flavors of his creations are very decadent and lingers on your taste buds in a very memorable experience. He's also prompt and flexible to the couple's needs or wishes. Overall, our wedding cake was beautiful and delicious! Our guests loved the cake and some got a little greedy :-) We can't wait for the one year anniversary to devour our 1st tier. My husband, family, and I couldn't have been more happy with our experience with Artistic Desserts for our wedding on May 22, 2016. Michael is extremely friendly and personable. We had read great reviews about him already but he went beyond our expectations which were already high. Our tasting was beautiful - not like any other tasting situation I've experienced or seen. He invited us into his home and had a beautiful tea/coffee setup with nice China, and included whole family. He provided us every type of cake he offered, plus a special request someone had asked for that he had extras from so he included that. We were each given a large slice each of every cake, and he made sure to include all of the icing options in them. We couldn't believe how delicious every one of them was. I'm not exaggerating or embellishing here - they were truly some of the best cake any of us have ever had. The icing is just right, and the texture of the cake was perfect. He was extremely accommodating and willing to customize our package to what worked best for us. My family tends to be very thorough and ask way more questions than most, but not only was Micheal patient, he was thorough in his answers and took everything above and beyond! He walked us through to figure out what the best options were for what we needed. He was honest with us too, which is something that is hard to find. He didn't just openly agree with everything we asked for - when he didn't think a combination we mentioned would work well, he spoke up and explained why it wouldn't be the best way to go - though he would be willing to do it if we still wanted it. His suggestions truly came out beautifully and I'm so glad he spoke up! We got so many comments about how beautiful the cake was. Some questioned if it was even a real cake at first! His suggestion of "twinkle dust" really gave it a finishing touch. Guests were raving well beyond the wedding about how delicious it was. We love Michael and will definitely be working with him again in the future.

We were introduced to Artistic Desserts at a bridal show when we won a gift certificate, and we are so glad we did. Michael was great to work with, very passionate and enthusiastic about what he does. The cake looked beautiful and was absolutely delicious. My husband and I have very different tastes but we were both well accommodated. Michael took the time to go through our many different cake design ideas and helped us pick something elegant that also fit well with our venue, theme for the wedding, and colors.

My husband and I got married 10/7/16 and Mike did an amazing job on our cake! It was perfect! He also did a last minute grooms cake for me as well. Mike was flexible and we couldn't have been happier to work with him. All of our guests loved our cake!

We really enjoyed working with Michael! We had gone to 2 other cake vendors before meeting with him. He was our favorite among the three vendors as well as the most detail-oriented. He also made the cake tasting more of a personalized, formal affair as he provided a full table setting for us complete with china, freshly-made coffee and full cake slices (not just samples) to try and discuss together. It was a very elegant and well-presented experience. Michael also had a big display screen which showcased some of his cake creations (all flawless and beautiful) and had samples of Styrofoam cake tiers to help us with visuals. He was super organized during the consultation and went beyond the general experience you have with a cake vendor. He wrote down every detail of our cake vision, asked questions in order to get it right, and worked with us on both our requests and budget. He was also very helpful throughout the planning process. We had a conflict with our cake topper and he was quick to respond and professional yet friendly in sharing with us his suggestions, and he was able to make it work which alleviated some last minute wedding-planning stress! Overall, Michael is tremendous in both the form and function of his cakes. Our wedding cake looked and tasted great. We got so many compliments on it and being the cake lovers we are will never forget how perfect it was!

My husband and I could not be happier with the cake that we had for our wedding on October 1, 2016! Not only was our cake absolutely stunning, but it was amazingly delicious. Working with Michael was a breeze! He is so incredibly flexible, and his work is impeccable. I spoke with him twice on the phone, and maybe exchanged two emails, and everything was easily settled! We had an easy virtual consultation where he showed us all of the beautiful possibilities on the computer while we were sitting on our own couch. Michael was willing to provide extra details that were not initially included with our venue's cake package because he definitely wants your cake to be special. We had so many guests tell us how delicious our cake was (we had Italian cream with raspberry marmalade and butter cream frosting--amazing!). If you need any more proof of how delicious his cakes are, our dance floor was packed all night, except for when the cake was distributed! If you get a chance to use Artistic Desserts, consider yourself in excellent hands, and you will not be disappointed!

Our wedding cake was one of my favorite parts of our wedding, and it was all because of Michael at Artistic Desserts. We started with a very basic idea: Legos, and he ran with it to create an amazing masterpiece, complete with Lego wedding party members (supplied by us). Not only was it amazing to look at, but the cake was one of the best I have ever had (and I have a sweet tooth). Everyone was saying how it was amazing, and I do not feel guilty saying I ate 4 pieces the night of our wedding!

The best wedding cake ever! It was not only beautiful, but taste like heaven! My guests were asking for 2nds, and I assure you I will not be waiting an entire year before I eat the top tier....Michael is an artist, and remarkable baker.

I used Artistic Desserts for my wedding on March 15, 2015. The baker, Michael, was able to sketch the vision of my wedding cake based off of a picture I had found online. In an attempt to to bring the "cut and paste" picture to standard size, the image became pix-elated and hard to truly identify the details, but Michael was about to work around that and sketch an exact replica. When the cake was delivered it was simply beautiful. The guest remarked on the cakes beauty and taste. A few weeks later I received a phone call from the Michael asking if everything was to my liking. During the conversation it was realized that the top tier of cake traditionally set aside to be eaten at the one year anniversary was not set aside after all. Micheal was very apologetic about this mishap and assured me that he would bake me a new top tier for my anniversary; all I had to do was call him "next year" and remind him of this conversation. I took this as a nice gesture but assumed he would forget and to cut down on confusion and embarrassment, I opted not to follow up "in a year". A year goes by and I change my mind and decide to test the waters and remind him of a long lost top tier that was not set aside. To my surprise Micheal remembered me and the scenario. We went over flavors and he informed me that it would be a basic 6" butter cream cake. I went to pick up my anniversary cake 1 yr later on March 15, 2016 and to my surprise there was my 6" cake with little puffs of butter cream icing decorating the base, a ridging of the butter cream to give a textured appearance, and a "topper" in the shape of flowers and petals made of harden sugar. That was some "basic" cake. I can tell that Artistic Desserts not only stands high on customer service, but they truly love what they do. It was a joy to work with them and would recommend and use them again, and again.

Absolutely amazing!!!! We met Michael at a wedding show and we knew from that day he was going to be the one that made the most important cake we would ever buy! Michael is absolutely amazing to work with, his cakes are amazing and so moist and flavorful! Michael truly went out of his way to create my fairy tale cake. We had a Beauty and the Beast cake topper and Our cake fit right into the theme of the cake topper, it even shimmered! We cannot wait to eat our anniversary cake no less the cakes will will order in the future!

We used Artistic Desserts for our wedding on October 3, 2015 (it was suggested from our vendor). Let me tell you... Michael was just amazing. Not only did my cake look EXACTLY how I wanted and was rich/moist, he went out of his way to find our last initial to use fondant to lay on the cake (with no extra charge at that)! I have never eaten a wedding cake that tasted so well. We had at least 50 people after our wedding talk about how amazing the cake was and went out of their way to let us know it was the most amazing wedding cake they had ever eaten in the wedding. Clearly I am partial, but I will recommend Michael and Artistic Desserts for ANY wedding or event and will be contacting him in the future! Taste= A+++ Customer Service= A++ Design/Look= A++

Michael at Artistic Desserts is AMAZING!!!!!! My husband and I chose the Italian cream cake with a raspberry and cream cheese filling. Our wedding was in May of this year and we were very happy with the way our cake turned out!!!!!! Months later and everyone including my husband and I are still talking about how delicious the cake was, Oh and by the way my husband doesn't eat cake so if he said if was good this says a lot. Michael was always very professional whenever we spoke and was very accurate with every detail we wanted. I can't wait to celebrate my one year anniversary next year just so I can enjoy it all over again.

My wedding was August 9, 2015 and things have just settled down for me to provide feedback to all of the wonderful vendors that I worked with to make my wedding day special. And what made my cake even more stellar is that it was delicious! we were very happy with how our cake turned out. we picked the flavor Italian crème cake with vanilla custard and raspberry swiss. the cake tasted amazing and all of our guests really enjoyed it. I really like how we were able to discuss what I wanted over the phone (I live over an hour away) also the computer program Michael uses allows you to see his computer screen right from your home, no need to download anything it was very simple and fast! thank you again artistic desserts!

Our wedding planner referred us to Artistic Desserts and they were fabulous. Our theme was Alice in Wonderland and the cake they made us was truly a work of art! We ended up choosing three different cake flavors and they were all amazingly delicious! I would definitely recommend them!!

Michael at Artistic Desserts is a dream when it comes to cakes! He was so incredibly helpful, hands on, and accommodating. All the cake testers were so good it was hard to choose a favorite! We ended up going with a 3 tier Italian Sweet Cream with raspberry and vanilla cream filling and buttercream icing. It was so yummy and our guests absolutely loved it! I recommend Artistic Desserts to anyone who is looking for absolutely the best. The best flavor, beautiful cake design, and best customer service hands down! We even got a follow up phone call and email just to make sure everything was perfect and instructions on how to freeze our top tier. We will definitely be ordering our cakes from Michael in the future! I am one very satisfied and extremely happy bride!

This baker is affiliated with our venue. Since we ordered cake through them, we rolled the cake tasting into the food tasting. Bonus! :) One tasting - one trip - easy! We were offered several different flavors of cake and icing and chose red velvet with cream cheese. The cake was delicious and BEAUTIFUL! I worked with Michael directly to order waterproof ribbon to add to the cake. We could not have been more pleased with the cake! It was exactly what we wanted and really, really looked beautiful! We have our top layer for the anniversary as Michael gave us a small topper in addition to the actual cake (wedding only 70 people). And Michael was so pleasant to work with - congratulated me on our wedding every time we spoke, sent me an email 2 days before reassuring me everything was on track and there would be no hiccups. Highly recommend!!

Michael at Artistic Desserts did an outstanding job creating the perfect rustic wedding cake. I gave him some fairly unconventional requests and the cake came out exactly as I imagined. I'm certain that twigs are not a common cake decor, but they pulled it off beautifully and let's not forget that the two cake flavors we chose were absolutely delicious! Our guests raved!

Michael Markwitz, owner of Artistic Desserts, is not only an amazing baker; he is extremely professional and kind. I truly enjoyed working with him and would recommend him to anyone!!! A couple weeks before the wedding he called me to confirm the details of the cake. I asked him about getting the cake up off the table a few inches. He gave me some options and told me the weight of the cake. A few days before the wedding we spoke again and he had found a six inch thick piece of styrofoam that he had cut into a circle to use as a cake riser. With so many details to take care of the last couple days before the wedding, I was relieved and thanked him endlessly. He went above and beyond to make sure the cake looked exactly the way I wanted. The day of the wedding, when we cut into the cake and fed each other the first two bites, I was in heaven. The Italian cream cake with raspberry filling was AMAZING! Not only did the cake look beautiful, it was the best wedding cake I had ever eaten…and it was my wedding cake. Even a few weeks after the wedding our guests were still talking about the wedding cake! Michael is incredibly talented and has earned the title of my cake guy for life!

Michael did the wedding cake for my sister’s wedding in 2009, so when I got engaged, I knew who was going to do mine! We touched based with him at a tasting at Grey Rock Mansion and his cakes were everything we remembered! We had a webinar meeting with him to discuss our plans in detail. It was so nice to not have to drive to another meeting! We had 300+ guests at our wedding and wanted to offer a variety of flavors, so we went with Lemon Cream Cake with Raspberry Cream Fillings for the 4 tier main cake, and then had 4 “strips” of different flavors: Italian Cream Cake with Swiss Raspberry and Vanilla Custard Filling, Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Ganache and Chocolate Mousse Filling, Red Velvet Cake with Bourbon Vanilla Cream Cheese Fillings, and Italian Cream Cake with Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and Milk Chocolate Ganache Fillings. All of our guests were raving over the cakes. Not only were they gorgeously decorated, but they tasted amazing! We highly recommend Michael and Artistic Desserts!

Michael Markwitz at Artistic Desserts made the most incredible wedding cake for my wedding! He worked very closely with me and my husband to tailor our cake to our tastes. The 4-tiered wedding cake was not only beautiful and elegant, but it was the most delicious cake I have ever had. Michael even accommodated my food allergy to eggs, and made a small egg-less cake for my husband and I to cut into during the reception. Needless to say, my husband and I cut took the time to sit down and eat our cake while the guests danced and carried on with the reception. We did not want to miss out on our cake! And we were so excited because we got to enjoy a few more pieces later that evening in our hotel room. Chef Michael of Artistic Desserts made us a delicious and stunning wedding cake and Marine Corps Birthday cake as a "groom's cake." For the design of our wedding cake, he was able to replicate the flower lace and beading from my gown, which is exactly what I envisioned. We received so many compliments from our guests, and several said it was the best wedding cake they have ever had! We had an extra large tier left over after the wedding so we donated it to the American Legion in Bel Air for Veterans Day and they were thrilled with it as well. Upon our one year anniversary, we defrosted the top tier and it was still as delicious as on that day! Amazing flavor, technique, and service all around!!

One of the many things that my guests raved about my wedding was the cake, and I have Artistic Desserts to thank for that. Mike is super talented and is such a nice person to work with. Michael was a pleasure to work with. He will accommodate your requests. He even drove to my house to do the cake tasting. Not to mention that his cakes are so delicious. He did a reese's peanut butter layer and a chocolate ganache layer that were just awesome. We live a little far from westminster, so he setup a video conference call to look at different cake designs and discuss flavors. I also found his cakes to be heavier and have more substance than other places I tried.

We met with Michael at the recommendation of our photographer, and we were not disappointed! Our cake tasting was extremely professional and a lot of fun; Michael had us to his home, set the dining room table for us, had a slideshow of examples of his work, and had a thorough (and delicious) display of cakes and fillings for us to sample. I am gluten sensitive, and he provided me with a gluten-free chocolate cake to try. I've eat a lot of "gluten-free" bakery products, and this cake was so much better than store-bought or boxed versions - it was dense, moist and didn't crumble and fall apart like most of other products do. We had several other people at our wedding who are also gluten sensitive/intolerant, so Michael provided us with a separate gluten-free cake as well as a gluten-free top layer for my husband and I to take home and eat. The fillings and buttercream frosting were all gluten-free, and they tasted incredible!! In terms of the rest of the layered cake, it was amazing! We heard great feedback from many of our guests on the taste, and it looked exactly how I had imagined it. Michael was open to all of our ideas, and he was very flexible with and accommodating to us when our guest count changed in the months leading up to our wedding. The delivery to the venue was on time, and he worked with our florist on-site to set up the flowers on each of the cake layers. I was 100% confident in him based on our interactions with him and the consistently great reviews, and that confidence was absolutely justified. I would highly recommend Michael for any other wedding or event, and I'm certainly keeping his number on hand for our next celebration!

We had already selected a vendor to provide our cake when we were introduced to Artistic Desserts at our venue's official tasting. After trying a few samples of their cakes, our minds were blown. The next day we cancelled our agreement with our other bakery and went with Michael. We were so pleased with our cake and would strongly recommend Artistic Desserts to anyone needing a cake for a special occasion.

We attended a tasting at our venue, Grey Rock Mansion and Artistic Desserts is the cake baker for this venue. We sampled the cake there and it is hands down not the best cake I've ever had in my life. I was so excited for my wedding day to have another piece of cake LOL! We chose the Italian Dream flavor for one tier, and the chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling for the other two and they both are fantastic. You will NOT be disappointed. Michael is a dream to work with and so is the cake!

My husband and I got 3 half sheet cakes for our wedding. We got the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, Lemon, and Italian Cream, and all were incredibly delicious. Our guests are still talking about the delicious cakes, and they loved that there were 3 options. Artistic Desserts did a great job of communicating with us and our caterers, and accommodated some last minute requests. I'd highly recommend them!

The cost was included in my venue package (Simply Elegant, Grey Rock Mansion) and we were FLOORED with how delicious this cake was. We went with the Italian cream cake with vanilla custard and raspberry marmalade for two tiers, and the middle tier was dark chocolate cake and chocolate mousse filling. We had so many compliments on the cake - the Italian cream/raspberry cake was the hands down favorite of all of our guests.

Michael was great to work with, he knew exactly what I wanted and provided us with three delicious cake flavors. The traditional carrot cake was excellent, the raspberry cream was delicious and the chocolate cake with chocolate ganache was to die for. Not only did his cake taste great but it was beautiful too. If you are looking for a wedding cake that will knock your socks off, Michael is your guy!

Our four-tiered cake was a huge hit and it was a beautiful sight as well. Michael was great to work with and really helped us design our perfect cake.

Michael was great to work with. The tasting was like being at an old-English tea party. We had full slices of each type of cake to sample, not just one bite of each. It was nice to be able to go back and compare flavors. We worked together on the design, and it turned out exactly like I wanted. The cake was beautiful, and it tasted delicious! I wish the venue had let us know that it was being served, because I wasn't aware that it was out and missed it!

I couldn't be happier with my cake from Artistic Desserts. As soon as we met with Michael, we knew this was the guy we were going with. The tasting was at his house, and we sat down with some tea and a plate of big cake slices. Each piece was delicious and went beyond the typical flavors. It was difficult to choose, so we ended up going with two flavors (alternating tiers, alternating sheet cake backups). We had a 4-tier butter cream cake and the icing looked so smooth and beautiful that it could have passed for fondant. Michael was able to match the ribbon on the cake exactly to my bridesmaids dresses. It was simply beautiful. He was so easy to work with and had some great suggestions but was never pushy in one direction or another. Michael also has great communication - always a phone call or email away and happy to answer any questions. My experience with Artistic Desserts was wonderful.

The Cake couldn't have been more perfect. And the feedback was tremendous...our guests just raved about the taste of the cake. Both flavors (italian cream and chocolate) were big hits, and the icing, according to them, "was not too sweet and tasted heavenly," so it, too, was a big hit! We also had a grooms cake done with Italian cream and custard which was wonderful. They only complaint we had from guest was we ran out of the Chocolate to fast!!!! Wonderful cakes.

Michael was great with everything. From the tasting in his house, to the cake the day of, he was great! His cakes are delicious and every flavor is awesome. We showed him our invitations and he made a design off the top of his head right there on spot. He answered every phone call we had and was happy to listen to everything I said. He has a true passion for what he does and it shows through!

Artistic Desserts did my wedding cake this past month, It was the best cake ever, the frosting was delicious, the cake was moist and yummy, all the guests raved about the cake and asked where did we get it. When we went to a tasting Michael ( the owner ) was so helpful, he understands how planning a wedding can be and catered to us. We walked us through choosing the design of the cake and even matched the color of the roses on the cake with the décor of our reception, with some swatches we provided. On our wedding day Michael even came early to set up the cake and the cake topper and made sure everything was ok with the cake before leaving the venue. All in all it was a great experience and 2 of my friends will be using Artistic Desserts for their weddings next summer :)

My wedding cake was not only beautiful to look at it was also delicious to eat. Michael, the baker, went over the design concept and incorporated extra cake jewelry that I had wanted in the design to match my wedding gown and decor. The end result was perfection.

I used Artistic Desserts for my wedding cake on November 17th 2012. I and everyone I talked to at the wedding absolutely loved the cake. Even from the very beginning Michael was a pleasure to work with. My husband and I went to his house for the cake tasting, which was very elegant with his finest china and really made you feel welcomed into his home. He was willing to work with me on my vision for the cake and was excited to try something new as a cake topper. He made us a fondant pumpkin carved with our initials. The tasting was amazing and we ultimately chose the red velvet and chocolate flavors with chocolate mousse and chocolate ganache flavors. Although we would have loved to have the reeses peanut butter filling and I definitely recommend it for those who wont have a peanut allergy at the wedding. At the wedding the cake looked as good as it tasted. I would definitely recommend artistic desserts if you have the money to spend on an amazing cake.

Michael was clearly very busy during our planning process, but definitely took the time to speak with me and my husband via email and phone. At the reception, we could tell why he was so busy. His cake looked amazing and tasted awesome! The cake looked exactly how I had envisioned it and was delicious. We chose chocolate cake with peanut butter filling. We received no less than ten compliments on the cake during the evening and more afterwards. There were people who had just recently married and wish they had Michael's cake at their wedding because they didn't like their own and loved ours! We just finished the top tier and it was great, even two weeks later kept in the fridge. We will definitely be ordering a new first tier for our anniversary. In fact, it may become an anniversary tradition every year!

I encountered Michael from Artistic Desserts at a small, local bridal show. Right away, I knew he was more than a cake vendor - he is an artist! It was an easy choice to go with Artistic Desserts as my wedding cake vendor. Michael was extremely professional and helpful every step of the way. I was super-impressed at the cake tasting, which he held in his own home. It was personal, fun, and intimate. The final product was exactly what I was dreaming of! We met with Michael Markwitz at his home to go over our wedding cake selections. We were served full-sized slices of his incredibly delicious moist cakes in his dining room, on Lenox china with a freshly brewed pot of coffee. HUGE slices of delicious cake - so you can taste each one several times as you're narrowing down what you want. He combines whatever filling you want with whatever kind of cake you want, so again - big slices of fresh delicious cake really help when you're mixing stuff up to make an educated decision. He helped us select the number of tiers we wanted and even suggested keeping the cake shorter and offered to make a couple of cakes on the side to save money. Not sheet cakes, the same awesome round cakes with fabulous fillings. He gave us tons of detail on how to cut and serve the cake and drew me a little diagram as well (there is an art to cutting a huge wedding cake without butchering it and I'm grateful he took the time to explain. We has friends helping with the catering and needed the tutorial!) We have three tiers and he doesn't charge any extra if we wanted to do all three tiers with different cake flavors and fillings! Neat! The Cakes: Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting - the cake and icing were dense and delicious without the cloying sugary sweetness or unsweetened butter greasiness of a lot of other bakeries' cakes and icings. His icing was PERFECT. There was an italian cream cake with a layer of Swiss imported seedless raspberry marmalade and a second layer of custard creamy goodness. Dense and delicious lemon cake with raspberry cream - we went with this one, and switched out one of the raspberry cream filling layers with raspberry marmalade. (Ah the joys of custom choices from a small business that values you!!) Again, not too sweet, not TOO dense - just right. The chocolate - holy goodness. There was some kind of incredible ganache filling in there that was to die for. We ended up getting 2 extra side cakes it was THAT good. He made another cake with crushed peanut butter cups in the filling - this was my fiance's fave and it was delicious as well. Believe it or not, I am not a huge fan of cake overall, but you can't NOT love this guy's cakes. They are fabulous and they are beautifully decorated. He spent well over an hour with us at 7:00pm on a weeknight to accommodate our work schedules. He scrolled through tons of pictures of cakes he had decorated so we could see some examples and he made some great recommendations. He let us try samples of fondant even though the cake we were selecting was iced with buttercream, just because he wanted to share it. It was light and soft and tasted almost like marshmallow. It tasted so much better than any fondant I have had before - he makes his own and it is delicious. When I went off on a tangent after seeing a super-fancy cake he made for another wedding, he brought me back to my original vision for a simple, homemade-looking, classic wedding cake, even though the other option that caught my fancy would have cost a significant amount of money and truly would have been an impulse-buy. The man is a professional. I love independent businesses. What a drastic difference between a tasting in the home of someone who loves what they do and an impersonal tasting at a busy bakery that serves an inferior product.

Michael created my dream wedding cake! I met him at a bridal show at The Great Room in Savage, MD (where I ended up having my reception) and the moment I tasted his chocolate cake, I knew he was the one. He also had this beautiful cake on display that I ended up designing my cake after. I loved everything about the cake and working with him to design it. The thing that sets him apart from other cake companies is that it is a family run business and I love that wholesome feeling. Also in a year on my anniversary, he will send us our anniversary cake (of the chocolate of course) so we dont have to eat one that was frozen for a year. Michael also helped me create the perfect grooms cake (and at an afforadable price!). It was carrot cake designed with a Jets logo with pictures of our dog on the outside. I will come back and post pictures when we get the professional ones back from our photographer!!! I was in the entry way when my cake arrived and I was so excited! It not only was absolutely beautiful, but it was delicious too!! We had and still are getting many compliments on the cake. Our meeting to decide on what kind of cake and what design couldnt have been any easier and comfortable. One of the main reasons that my husband I were so happy was we never agree on cake flavors, and it didnt matter! The baker informed us that we were allowed to have more than one flavor. that made it not only easy on us, but fun for the guests =) Highly recommended!!!
