ng a little discouraged looking at the prices of top rated vendors until I found AWH - it almost seemed to good to be true for a San Diego Wedding! Pricing was almost half of what others were charging for some services, like the hair and makeup trial! RESPONSIVE Since day 1 Janet has always been incredibly responsive - which I was extremely appreciative of because I only had 9 months to plan my wedding - in addition to working full time and purchasing & moving into a condo. Time was of the essence. I had so many questions that I almost felt bothersome but she was always very warm and welcoming. COMMUNICATION Lots of information thrown at you (bridal contract, trial details, etc.) that took some time to get through, but I appreciated all the information being documented and organized. Lots of questions answered that I didn't even have to ask. And available for reference again in the future. FLEXIBILITY I had to add some girls last minute to the service count (about less than 2 weeks until the wedding day) and even requested a second hair & makeup person before that so that no one would have to get up super early and be ready 7+ hours before they actually needed to be ready (She gave me a great deal on this despite being below the "minimum services" for a second artist at that time). I felt horrible for it being so last minute to add more girls (since we had JUST revised the schedule & invoice to accommodate a second artist and now needed to revise again - and time was ticking!) but she was very understanding and patient with me! She basically WORKED with me for all my needs and that is exactly what I wanted in all my vendors! WEDDING DAY SATISFACTION All the girls loved their hair and makeup, and so did I. My hair and makeup artist even got me a "present" - we struggled on the lip color during the trial, we had to mix 2 shades to get a shade I liked. She (Heather) went out and found it and gave it to me on my wedding day for touch ups :) Which I used! Other artist was Cynthia. They were both super friendly, attentive, outgoing and didn't mind having to wait around a bit for some of the girls to show up for their services (we were ahead of schedule and these were my aunts getting ready in their own hotel rooms needing to come to the bridal dressing room just for hair and makeup). We still finished way ahead of schedule, about 1-2 hours. OVERALL 100% SATISFIED She made me feel like she truly wanted my business and wanted me happy. That is what it is all about when it comes to who you want to be a customer of. Overall amazing customer service, affordable pricing, and beautiful work. I was a very happy bride and I think AWH was one of my best vendors!

I am not one who knew much about hair and make-up; so, when I promised my bridal party ladies (3 plus flower girl) that I would provide a hair & make-up artist for services for all of us, I had not realized that would mean we would have to start at 6am for an 11am ceremony time with only one artist working with us. And my venue couldn't let us in until 8am without charging us a bundle for extra security personnel. So, sweet Janet scrambled to book a second artist at the last minute, and Amber saved the day. I'm not used to wearing much make-up, so I was nervous having someone I had not had a trial with, but Shaina filled her in on my trial. Amber did a great job and the pictures turned out wonderfully. She was very meticulous and, though the first bridesmaid took much longer than expected, the total time Janet built into the schedule was pretty accurate. Shaina was absolutely amazing with everyone's hair, and in the trial she was very responsive to my feedback and created a great style for me. She also gave me some great advice for my chapped lips and there were so much better a couple days later for the wedding. Overall, I was very happy with my experience with these two wonderful ladies, and recommend them highly. I don't live near Phoenix, so it was stressful planning a trial so close to the wedding date, but I was in excellent hands and it all went so smoothly! Thank you!

My day was glorious and was in capable hands from the start of my day with no stress. t a very easy morning! I found AWH around November 2015, and scheduled a trial run straight away. I liked the style, and decided to book. Come to about a week before the wedding, and that specific stylist accidentally forgot to schedule my wedding.... I know, exactly what you do NOT want to happen the week of your wedding. But Janet the coordinator was fantastic to make quick solutions, and we had someone else come do a trial run immediately, and it I LOVED it even more than my first trial run!! They day of could have potentially been filled with stress because of the situation, but was handled so professionally that I was eerily calm the day of the wedding. Would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone wanting their hair and make up done.

You never have to ask what now? She tells you what to expect next. My hair and make-up trial was a great experience because the artist worked with me and talked me through everything. After the trial I made a few notes for minor changes on wedding day and I can tell you it was perfect on the big day! I was a Destination Bride and did my trial just days before the wedding and was assigned a very talented artist with many years of experience. Once I was at ease, my wedding party was excited and knew they were in great hands on the wedding day! I will recommend this vendor to any bride getting married and promise you will have no worries with the owner in charge of your big day! One of my bridesmaids is getting married in 2017 and she has booked this vendor too! I LOVE this team and cannot say more! Just believe a HAPPY bride!

She answered all my emails immediately and in my opinion is a very dedicated professional. I love that I did not have to make a deposit to hold may wedding date until I loved my trial! With my contract, she sent me an invoice (due one week before the wedding ) to proof all details and the schedules of my artists at least 90 days before my wedding. Nothing was left to last minute nor did I ever have to chase the vendor for answers. The owner is superior at coordinating all the details from beginning to end! My wedding day went smoothly as we were given prep instructions and what to expect for the big day! The artists remained on time and even finished a little early! I had a large wedding party and the artists worked as a team of professionals and everything came off as perfection! One of my girls can be very "fussy" and evens he loved her hair and make-up! I got so many compliments about how pretty I looked and I honestly felt like the most gorgeous bride ever! I can't wait to get my photos and share with my family and friends. I definitely recommend this vendor and the prices are reasonable especially for the quality and expertise and excellent communication you receive! If I could give 10 stars I would! ush! I love it; it's so light and leaves a flawless look. The pricing was reasonable compared to other places I've looked into. My husband is so picky when it comes to my makeup. He says I'm beautiful without makeup and he wanted to recognize me when I walk down the aisle. When I walked down the aisle and saw his face, it was totally worth it. He kept whispering how beautiful I looked. Later on during the reception, he complimented how perfect my makeup was; not too much and lovely. He said Destinee did an amazing job! ;) That's probably the best compliment AWH will get from a groom...trust me.

We did a few tweaks for the day of which turned out perfectly. I liked having the same person do my trial as the day of - made it much less stressful. Cyndi even picked out new special lashes to use on me which I loved. The other two artists for my girls were Jennifer G and Destinee. Both did great work although Jennifer was late on the day of and Destinee was a little slow. Everyone turned out looking amazing, so the only thing that could have gone better was time. I will say that I called Janet when Jennifer was late and once again, she was ON TOP of things. I would highly recommend Artistic Wedding Hair & Make-Up Design for any wedding - everyone was wonderful to work with and the result was gorgeous!

esearch on salons and beauty companies, and not only did that cut out a great deal of cost, but I was also able to relax much more the day of my wedding knowing that myself and my bridesmaids didn’t have to run across town to the venue and not ruin our beautifully done hair and makeup. Both the hair and makeup artists were incredibly professional and easy to work with. The owner Janet coordinates everything with you beforehand, so as long as you’re on top of it and follow her instructions timeline-wise everything is great. Shaina did both bridal hair and makeup and I cannot sing her praises enough. My hair was exactly how I wanted it to be, not a strand fell out of place the entire evening. She took my comments from the trial into account and everything was perfect. Inevitably we got a little bit behind during prep, and she at no point made me feel stressed or worried or like she was rushing. She also did all my bridesmaids’ hair and made sure it was exactly what they wanted too. A few of them changed their mind after their hair was initially done and she was able to quickly tweak it for them without going outside their scheduled time. Truly a lovely person and artist. The bridesmaids’ makeup artist Amber even stuck around an extra half hour to do a touch up on everyone’s lips right before the ceremony so everything looked great for pictures. The artists definitely went above and beyond to make sure everything looked great and the process went smoothly. If you’re looking for a great company for hair and makeup that is cost-effective, communicative and has amazing artists, look no further!

d make-up were reasonably priced, especially for large groups. Whitney did my hair and make-up for my bridal photo shoot as well as the big day. Both times, everything looked beautiful! She was great about making changes, based on my preferences, on the wedding day. Both Whitney and Cyndi did hair and make-up for all of my bridesmaids (6) as well as my mom and the mother of the groom. They showed up exactly on time, were professional, and did a great job of sticking to the appointment schedule. Both were able to adapt to the hotel room where the services were provided and created perfect looks for all of us! I couldn't have been more pleased!

od to be true. First and foremost "JANET". She is the sweetest, most helpful, personable person ever. I've only talked to her via email but I honestly felt like I knew her personally, and I'm not one of those people that meet other people on the computer. My favorite thing about Janet is even though she's running a business, she makes sure to take care of her employees. You can tell by talking to her, she truly cares about them, and more importantly is they have the most nicest things to say about her as a boss as well. I found these things important because it's kind of like that saying "happy wife happy life", they really personalize their service, and are happy to do it. They're not fake and tell you want you want to hear to gain your business, they're real people that are trying to do more than just get contracts. All that being said I planned my wedding from afar since we live out of state. I checked out almost every single wedding hair and makeup company in Phoenix and its surrounding areas. Here's what I learned and what led me to go with Artistic. Almost every other trial run is only 2 hours. Artistic is 3. We used up every bit of that 3 hours and I personally wouldn't have minded 4. Now I did have extensions to put in and a tattoo cover (tattoo cover 10 minutes tops). My girl (Whom I love dearly and wish I could afford to have her do my hair and makeup everyday)was Lynn. She's very friendly and if you want her opinion she will absolutely give you an honest answer. The only thing I didn't know about up front prior to the trial run was that there's an extra fee for hair past mid back. I was a little surprised at first, but really it's common sense, and I just didn't think about it. I compared thousands of pictures on Artistic and different company's websites, and in my opinion they were the best. What I looked for was how well they worked with long blond hair, and eye makeup. I do not wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis and I knew I wanted dramatic on my wedding day. They delivered (Lynn specifically). They have the best reviews (read them, I promise). They are very inexpensive compared to others (again, do your homework, I promise). These 3 things along with their personalization is really what sealed the deal for me. There were 7 of us girls total (one being a flower girl and only having her hair done)that all had hair, makeup, lashes, and airbrush. The other artist that came in on the wedding day was Shaina. Again, she was great. Everyone was impressed with the services they received. Time did run over. My advice, start early. This was so weird to me. I thought why in the world is makeup starting at 9am when my wedding is at 4pm. I actually pushed it up 1 hour because my venue didn't open until 10am, and because of it I was unable to have the photographer take pics that were scheduled, so yes start early. Lynn waited until after the ceremony to leave so I could have touch ups (for a fee). This was a huge plus for me, as my wedding was 12/31/14, outside, and it rained, go figure. I would recommend Artistic to any bride. They take the time to make you look and feel gorgeous on your day, as well as help out and answer your umpteen questions you’ll have prior to it.

incident where we scheduled my trial months prior, but 3 days before the date, she realized the make-up artist had double booked. I ended up not having my trial done that day (which I planned to have on my bridal shower), but we rescheduled for a later day. Janet made it up to me by throwing in free make-up services for my mom on the day of the wedding. Make-up and hair during the day of the wedding was great. Leticia didn't take any breaks with all of my bridesmaids, mom, and myself lined up on the schedule. She's really good at what she does and I highly recommend her!

great artist and I'm so happy with how my hair and make up looked like at my wedding. The quality knocking down of 1 star is really for the 2nd artist who I thought took a bit too long working on my bridesmaids. She was late coming in and I thought that she didn't understand the look I was going for. I had to correct her several times on how to place the headbands and how loose or tight the hair should be. All in all, their service was superb and I was happy.

Everything is straight forward and in writing and for me that was great. It made me know there were no loose ends. Based on some quick questions, an artist was chosen for me and was the perfect fit! The owner explained from the beginning there might be some "beauty tweaks" I would need to make after the session and wearing my "look" for the day. It helped me to understand my wedding day would be perfect and indeed it was! I wanted a little more volume in the top, a lower chignon and a few minor make-up changes and not a detail was missed on my wedding day! The artists were both really great and my wedding party was very satisfied! On my wedding day, my artists arrived on time, in fact a little early and in a great mood to take on the day. I created a preliminary schedule to decide who went first and was great because it was so personalized to my needs and those getting beauty services. I also loved that I could reach the owner if I need to throughout our prep session. You can't ask for better attention on your wedding day. I had a large wedding with 7 for hair and make-up besides myself. They kept to the schedule sessions and we finished on time in fact about 10 minutes early. When I put on my wedding dress, I really felt beautiful and more so than ever in my life! It is one thing to feel that about yourself but another when hearing those comments all night long! At the 2nd trial, my artist Paula did such a great job listening to me and asking for my feedback so we could get it just right. On the wedding day, Paula knew exactly what to do and recreated the look exactly how I wanted it. I ended up doing a low side chignon and my hair looked stunning. I got so many compliments. My artist, Paula, was no different. She did my trial about 3 months before the wedding, and was so easy to work with and talk to about what exactly I wanted. On my wedding day, Paula did my entire bridal party so beautifully (which obviously they all are anyway) and made me feel prettier than I have every felt. This all goes without saying – Janet and her team are so reasonably priced compared to others out there who charge twice as much more, just because it’s for a wedding. Plus, they do not charge you until you are HAPPY with your trial – which I guarantee you will be! I 100% recommend these amazing ladies.

goes. I had three make-up & hair trials prior calling her (one of them was done professionally). I had a professional MUA did a trial a month prior, and I wasn’t sure if I was happy with the results at the time. I hesitated trying to go for a different trial because she already charged me an arm and a leg for the trial, so I thought I could just settle with her to save money. But I kept looking at the pictures; I don’t like the makeup that she did. I also had two of my friends did the makeup trials, but since the makeup supplies are limited it was difficult to get the best results. I realized, my face will be captured in the pictures and they will be there forever, so I do want to look my best on my special day! In a panic, I called a few MUA and booked different dates. When I called Janet, she was really responsive and understood my concern, so she booked me with Paula and I went for a trial three weeks before the wedding. When I went to her place, she listened to me what my concerns are and how unhappy I am with the previous MUA. She showed me a few pictures and suggested what is good for my Asian features. I told her I want my face to be contoured and I want dramatic eyes. She is such a perfectionist, she spent so much time perfecting my eye makeup and contouring my face. After it’s done, I was in tears of joy; I can’t believe how beautiful I looked! Of course I cancelled my other appointments right after, I found the one! Janet and Paula saved my day, and there is no doubt I would recommend them to the other future brides to do their bridal makeup and hair. They are the best! Thank you so much!

Then she has you send her an email of the looks you want for hair and makeup as well as a selfie for regular skin, hair, and makeup rituals. From this she can determine which artist to send you to. My first trial (too close to my wedding, which was my fault) had some flaws. The makeup portion was well done, but the hair did not wow me. We tried extensions and that was a hassle as well as another trial and fee (understandably). When I still wasn't wowed with my look, I called Janet and let her know. She was very understanding. She contacted the artist and got the full story and quickly found her best stylist as a replacement, Dawn. With a week to go before my wedding, I was understandably stressed to still be doing trials. I went to Dawn's salon and she made me at ease. She had pictures of my looks printed out and ready to discuss what I liked in each look. With every step of my hair, she stopped to ask how I liked it and if it was moving toward the look I wanted. It took a while but it was amazing! Then with the makeup, the same procedure. As each step progressed Dawn checked with me to see if it was moving toward the look I wanted. That evening I gave feedback as some makeup had moved and hair too. I had an allergic reaction to the fake eyelash glue and let them know immediately. They responded swiftly and said they would definitely change that. The day of my wedding 6/28/14, Dawn was early. She did my daughter's hair and makeup first which turned out beautifully. Then she started me. I thought for sure 2 hours would not be enough time. But Dawn is awesome with time management! She started on my hair first and replicated exactly to the trial. She tweaked the makeup in all the ways I had specified after the trial. That makeup held all day!! The hair did too!! After days of searching no one seemed as good or as reasonable as Artistic Wedding so I emailed Janet back in a bit of a panic and asked if she had any recommendations or could help me out at all. She pulled some strings and found me an amazing artist! My wedding was in Lake Arrowhead on June 21st, so it was a bit of a drive but Paula my artist agreed to take on my wedding. I had 2 trials because I'm not someone that usually wears a lot of make-up so initially I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of make-up but after the second trail just 2 weeks before my wedding I was so happy with how everything turned out. I have never felt so gorgeous before - the whole experience the day of the wedding was perfect too. The wedding day with getting ready can be a pretty hectic, but Paula and team worked to ensure I stayed calm and had the perfect experience. I can't say enough how happy I am to have worked with Paula and Janet. My wedding was amazing I felt very confident and amazing day of and its all because of their expertise!

She looked SO beautiful! :) They were prompt, super friendly for it being the crack of dawn, and did an AWESOME job! My girls looked gorgeous and I felt beautiful all day. Due to a little scheduling error, we were given airbrushed makeup for all the girls. Janet was super nice to offer that and she gets a HUGE thank you because we look freaking AMAZING in our photos. :) Janet is very clear with what's expected from us as clients and what we will receive from her. She is extremely quick with responses and is easy to get in touch with. No complains at all from Janet and her team! Thank you SO MUCH ladies!

duce the stress from all of the mayhem of planning, I suggest you book your hair and makeup with Janet and her incredible makeup artists/hair stylists!! First off, Janet is the most optimistic, encouraging, and genuine vendor I came across and (thankfully) booked for the most important day of my life. She is authentically positive, and upbeat! She is so prompt with her responses to any questions you may have, and that characteristic was the most important thing for me when booking vendors for my wedding. The excitement she has for her brides is absolutely contagious, and during times when I was stressed to the max, she was such a blessing to have! She has such a love for this industry that no other vendors come close to possessing that I encountered in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (or all over for that matter...she works in California and Arizona too for any brides in those areas)! Her prices are spot on and incredibly affordable, and more importantly WORTH IT! I can't wait to have another event, even the smallest event, so that I can book her and her artists again! Also- Ashley and Whitney (makeup/hair artists) were complete God-sends the day of my wedding! Ashley is *perfection*, hilarious, and super sweet! She was so flexible, and made me look the prettiest I ever have in my life! :) I have told SO many women about Janet and Artistic Wedding hair already in the area, and I guarantee that you won't find a better vendor anywhere in the U.S! :)

Clearly not customer oriented in any form or fashion and cannot handle a customer's opinion in a professional manner when it is not "fluffing" her image.*** While I was thoroughly pleased with my artist's work I cannot say the same for the coordinating process. It initially started out great. Price was very reasonable and the owner seemed to be on top of her game with responses and organization. I scheduled my trial for the day of my bridal shoot to avoid an extra $90 fee for a 2nd session. Went great. Only thing I was not too pleased with was I had received an email fairly well in advance that my artist was changed for geographical purposes. Not a big deal although my first thought was that should've been easily done the first time. Anyway, that artist was not the one who showed up. It ended up being a 3rd lady whom I was never informed about. Not knowing any of them or their work it didn't make a difference for quality. Just the fact it was now seeming unorganized. The next event came when I inquired about having airbrush available for the 3 ladies in my party that requested it. Up to this point I was fully aware of the preference for traditional per Janet (owner) and my artist which I did not disagree with. After multiple emails back & forth stating opinions and preferences on traditional vs airbrush I had to state I would find another vendor if having airbrush available was not doable. Being that it's an offered service on the website and also in the pricing packages, I should not have received so much pushback to get it done and had such a hard time to get a simple "yes one of your artists is able to do so". I do not mind hearing one's opinion but I am not okay with someone telling me what I don't want when I specifically request for it. My girls paid for their own services and I expect to easily get it when requested when it's a legit service offered. Do not promote it if it's not desired. My 2nd artist was changed once again before the wedding day, notice well in advance but in doing so my artist was now doing more than originally scheduled. I was also notified, when inquired, that she had just recently purchased an airbrush machine putting major concern on my end and the girls getting it done questioning if she truly had experience when just purchasing a machine. Fortunately all but 1 of the girls were fairly pleased with the end results. If given the chance to redo it all, I can't say I would reuse this vendor. The artists were great, no doubt in their skills, I just did not feel there was a very efficient way behind doing it all. I understand the volume and business level of a service like this, but it also ended up being more stressful on my end than anything. Obviously others had great experiences so not saying that it's not possible, just sharing my personal one and my opinion.

r different hair types and complexions (e.g., acne, oily skin). She was very professional, talkative, and responsive to our requests. My mom, maid of honor, bridesmaids, and I loved our hair and makeup. Our hair and makeup also lasted until the end of the night, which I had been worried about because my ceremony was outdoors at the end of May in Arizona's heat. Overall, I got exactly what I wanted. I would definitely recommend working with Shaina!
