Emily was the perfect makeup artist for our wedding in September 2023. She was super responsive via email and flexible with scheduling when she reached out to me a few months prior to set up my trial appointment. Emily did makeup for all 7 of my bridesmaids, my mom, and myself all before our picture deadline at 1pm. I had a great experience working with her, would highly recommend !

I could not recommended Emily enough for wedding makeup! She is easy to communicate with, personable, was prompt on wedding day, and did an amazing job on my bridesmaids and Is makeup! After my trial, I wanted a little more of a natural look and informed Emily of the change, she was so easy going and definitely executed the look I wanted. I booked Emily for our wedding after she had done such an incredible job with my sister's wedding a few years ago, and I loved working with her! We were able to have a trial a few months before the wedding and she was really thorough about my look, matching it with my dress, and really listening to anything I wanted to change. On the day, she showed up super early and was able to not only do an amazing job on my bridal makeup, but did 5 of my bridesmaids AND 3 moms. She is a rockstar! So friendly, professional, and great at what she does.

I am so happy that I chose Emily as my makeup artist for my wedding day! Emily is a true professional who has an obvious passion for makeup and takes pride in her work. She completely understood what I was after when I told her I wanted something natural and not too heavy because I wanted to look like myself for my wedding. During our trial, she was very communicative and encouraged me to make adjustments because she wanted me to be 100% happy with my look. When it came time for the wedding, Emily brought such a wonderful and positive energy to our get-ready room. She is so funny and down-to-earth! I had a great time sitting in her chair getting ready with her and my bridal party. She spent about three hours doing makeup for me, my three bridesmaids, and my mom, who was a bit nervous about wearing a full face of makeup, but Emily did such an amazing job at enhancing our natural features. We all looked absolutely beautiful! I had an outdoor wedding, and let me tell you, was 85 degrees and HUMID in early September. At one point I remember thinking, “Oh my gosh, I bet my face is just melting off right now.” But then I caught myself in a mirror and saw that my makeup was still perfectly in place! I was shocked. It ended up lasting all day and looked amazing both in-person and in pictures. Overall, I would highly recommend Emily to anyone who is looking for a reliable and talented artist who refuses to take shortcuts and genuinely cares about the quality of her work. Choosing Emily to be my makeup artist was honestly the best decision!! She listened to everything I said I wanted (I don’t normally wear a lot of makeup). Emily made me feel so beautiful and natural, with a touch of glam, and I didn’t feel like I had on pounds of makeup. The makeup lasted all day and night (which was amazing considering the humidity of a June wedding) and I received so many compliments on it!! She was professional and prompt and was even able to fit in one extra bridesmaid, who decided last minute she wanted her makeup done. Emily was able to apply makeup to 2 moms, 1 bride, 3 bridesmaids, with enough time to put a little makeup on my flower girls! She is/was absolutely amazing!! I would book her again in a heartbeat! I absolutely love the makeup that Emily did for my wedding day! We did a few minor tweaks at my trial but she got the look I was going for on the first try. She is so personable and fit in perfectly with my bridal party, the moms, and my hairstylist. She did my makeup, 2 MoHs, my mom, my future MIL, and flower girl. All 6 of our makeups looked amazing and complimented each person's coloring. And the best part is my makeup lasted all day and continued to look flawless!

Emily was so great and so sweet. I’m not much of a makeup person, so I was concerned about looking completely different on my wedding day, but she has this incredible ability to create soft and gorgeous bridal looks that really just accentuate your natural features. My mom had similar concerns and wanted to have her makeup done as well. She was open to any adjustments and didn’t seem to take anything to heart if we wanted to change or add anything. We trusted her and she really hit it out of the park. My skin looked flawless all night even though I struggle with acne and other skin issues. She made me feel beautiful and increased my confidence for our special day.

We had hired Emily to be our makeup artist for the day of our wedding. She not only did our makeup but all our wedding party as well. We cannot say enough about her! We are older brides, so we did not know what to expect. Not only did she do an amazing job on our wedding day, but from the first day we met her which was our trial she completely made us feel comfortable. Emily made me feel incredibly beautiful on my wedding day! She made sure she had a clear understanding of what I was looking for and asked for feedback every step of the way to ensure she was capturing my vision. Emily made the process fun and helped to ease my pre-wedding nerves as we chatted. My mom and bridesmaids all looked gorgeous, and somehow Emily and her assistant managed to complete the group of 9 ahead of schedule! Even through tears, my makeup held up in perfect condition through the end of the night.

I had Emily as my makeup artist for a boudoir session and could write several paragraphs about how amazing she is! I was a little nervous going into the session because I had never done anything like that before. But Emily’s personality and passion for her job really helped me relax and thoroughly enjoy the experience from beginning to end. She was so friendly, attentive, and professional; always asking what I thought or if I was comfortable before applying something to my face. She gave me the perfect amount of subtle glam while highlighting the features I liked best. After makeup was done she curled my hair into beautiful big waves that looked straight out of a magazine. She was able to flawlessly execute the vibe and vision I had in mind for my session; soft and sweet with a touch of sexy. The photos turned out immaculate. Emily knows exactly what she’s doing so your makeup looks fantastic in person AND in photos. I would absolutely recommend Emily for any special occasion; Weddings, branding, modeling, or even treating yourself just because! This is your sign to book with her!

My wife and I both loved working with Emily for our wedding! She was so fun and made the whole process seamless. She was able to make us both feel comfortable wearing more makeup than we were used to and gave us exactly what we wanted- a natural but noticeable look. Emily travelled to our hair salon on the day of which made everything much easier- especially trying to plan for 2 brides! Emily was so wonderful to work with leading up to my wedding and especially on the day of! She and her assistant made everyone in the bridal party look fabulous and really listened to what each woman wanted. When I first met Emily at my bridal trial, I knew my bridal party and I were in good hands. She was so friendly and personable and made sure I felt comfortable with my look - she has such a wonderful talent! On the day of the wedding, she and her assistant took their time with each person while keeping things moving and even finished ahead of schedule. Emily did my make up better than anyone has before. She is also really good with different skin tones and ages because we had 9 ladies who are all very different and everyone looked beautiful.

I had the most incredible experience working with Emily over the last 2 years. She is so kind, so talented, and I felt she really listened to what I was hoping for and made it come to life for me. My mom and I both had a trial with her and loved the entire experience and she continued to work with us when we needed to postpone. She was so accommodating, which made it so much easier as we rescheduled with the rest of our vendors. From beginning to end, it was nothing but fun and positive. She was super responsive anytime I had questions, and my entire bridal party LOVED her and her work on the day of the wedding. They each have a very different style and she accommodated so well to all of them. We got married on 9/5/2021 and they are still talking about how much they loved their makeup and loved her. I cannot wait to work with Emily for more events ❤️ She made me feel so beautiful and confident on our big day and it held up all night. Getting ready was a blast because she had such an amazing energy that really helped us all relax and enjoy our time together.

I found Emily on Instagram and she quickly got back to me! She had my wedding date open and I booked her instantly! I loved her more natural wedding makeup look that was what I was going for. She was very nice and fun to work with. I was lucky enough to work with her twice due to covid, she did my makeup for our small ceremony and then our reception. My makeup held up amazing both times, even in the rain and dancing all night! She did 6 of my bridesmaids and my mom and everyone looked fabulous. She showed up on time and got everyone done in a timely manner. I want to get married again so she can do my makeup again ☺️

10/10 highly recommend Emily for your Wedding or any special event! I got my trial done on the day of my co-ed Bridal Shower. I received so many compliments and felt amazing! All of my bridesmaids were so excited when I shared with them that they would be getting theirs done for the Wedding as well. Emily was such a pleasure to work with. She was quick to respond to emails, was helpful with sharing some pre-wedding skincare tips and was so understanding when achieving my vision. There was a total of 9 of us getting our makeup done and Emily was very efficient and even had time for my 6 year old niece. I can't thank Emily enough for making me feel so beautiful on my big day! Artistry by Emily (Emily Lau) – My experience with Emily was wonderful! I am so grateful that I stumbled upon her on the Knot! I am not a big makeup person Emily interpreted my vision and brought it to life! My biggest goal was to look like myself on my wedding day, just a very pretty version that would photograph well lol. And my goodness did Emily deliver! I have never felt more beautiful in my life. Not only did she make me feel like a queen, she made sure that every single one of my bridesmaids also felt like queens! She even went above and beyond and researched makeup techniques for my bridesmaid who was going through chemo treatments just to make sure she also had a wonderful experience. If I could give Emily a 10-star rating I would. Overall, I would highly recommend! REASONS TO LOVE EMILY: Kind / Easy to talk to / Listens / Produces beautiful work / Reasonable pricing / Educates you throughout the process / Sells products! HONEST CRITIQUES: I had a bigger bridal party (7 girls, myself, & 2 moms getting lashes only) so by the end my bride anxiety was causing me to feel a little rushed. If I had to do it again, I would have asked Emily to bring her assistant. Important to note, that Emily did finish on schedule just by herself, I just think I would have been more comfortable if she had an extra set of hands. Not Emily’s fault by any means – just a thought for the next bride deciding if she wants Emily to bring an assistant or not.

The best makeup artist hands down! Emily listens to what you want your look to be, works quickly, and carries a great conversation to make you feel comfortable while getting your makeup done. Emily was great! I am pretty shy so I was nervous going into my trial but she is SO sweet and instantly put me at ease. She was happy to work with me on achieving a more "natural" look and open to my feedback which I really appreciated. We had a tight timeline for our morning but she managed to get through everyone so efficiently and made all of my girls look gorgeous !

Emily is so amazing to work with! She is reliable, the nicest ever, & I was so happy with all of the work she’s done for me! I booked with her for every event that I had for my wedding (2 different engagement picture sessions, bridal shower, & my wedding). My mom who is 62 got her makeup done for the shower & the wedding by Emily as well. She made her look flawless & beautiful. She makes you feel so comfortable, she’s so easy to get along with, & always on time. I have been in multiple weddings & my makeup is never as good as when Emily does it (& I am pretty particular). She is worth 5 stars every time in my books!

Emily is truly the best! She responded to my initial inquiry the same day. She was very helpful, kind, flexible, and easy to work with. As a COVID bride, I had to make a lot of adjustments...my wedding date, where we needed Emily at in the morning, the number of people getting their makeup done. Throughout the entire process, Emily was nothing, but accommodating and supportive. Emily goes above and beyond to make sure you, your bridal party, mom, grandmas, etc look stunning for your special day. All of my girls kept telling me how much they loved their makeup. Emily was wonderful to work with for my wedding day! When we had to move dates due to Covid my original makeup artist was no longer available and that’s how I ended up finding Emily. She was very responsive as soon as I reached out to her and there were never any issues with communication. She listened to my ideas and feedback during my makeup trial so that I was comfortable with the look she planned for my wedding day. As someone who doesn’t wear a lot of makeup on a regular basis, it was comforting knowing she wasn’t going to pressure me into a look I didn’t want. Emily arrived early on the day of the wedding and had four bridesmaids and myself done ahead of schedule. She was very professional and worked alongside the hair stylist extremely well. Everyone’s makeup looked natural yet absolutely beautiful the day of the wedding and I would highly recommend Emily to anyone looking for a makeup artist!

I can't say enough good things about Emily! She's so sweet, accommodating, and amazing at what she does. My cousin used Emily for her Bridal and her bridesmaids’ makeup a couple years ago and they all looked so beautiful I knew I had to book her for my own. I had an idea of what I wanted from a picture of another bride she had done and when I went for my trial makeup she nailed it perfectly! Emily has this gift of playing up your own natural beauty and adds just a touch of Glam to perfection. It’s exactly what I was looking for! She listens to what you want, (even adjusted my foundation to suit my preference) is extremely genuine, sweet, caring and easy to talk to like she’s your forever friend. There are so many MUA in the Pittsburgh area, but Emily is a perfect choice! I hired Emily after reading reviews, and Instagram browsing, and she did not disappoint. Emily did such a wonderful job with my wedding day make up! She was able to work with my vision, and we used my trial to play around with different colors and techniques. She was receptive to my feedback, and helped me find the best fit. I also had a lip color and foundation I wanted to use instead of what she uses, and she was happy to use my own items along with her own. She was so cheerful the day of, and it was nice to have her on our glam squad on our big day! I would highly recommend her for both bridal and bridal party makeup.

Emily is the best! I went with her for my bridal makeup after she did my sister’s wedding back in October. She did such an awesome job on me and my sisters and my mom who all have completely different tastes. Emily is truly gifted at what she does! Her skill set is super versatile and she really listened to what each person wanted and catered their make up to them. We also had a wide range of ages- my youngest Bridesmaid was 16 and my mom is in her mid-50s and everyone just looked flawless. In addition to being an amazing artist, Emily is just super easy to work with and a great person. She always responds and confirms appointments. She’s got a laid-back personality which makes it really easy to give her feedback about what you do and don’t like. She asks questions so even if you’re somebody who doesn’t like to speak up and give feedback she will ask the right questions to make sure that you’re happy and that she’s on the right track with your style. On my wedding day we had a great time working with her and enjoyed some good conversation and had fun while getting ready. When a couple of my bridesmaids were running behind schedule and I started to get anxious, she was right there reassuring me that everything would be OK and she would work around it to get us done on time. Sure enough, we finished early even with 9 girls getting make up done and two of them showing up late. I can’t say enough great stuff about Emily! I would highly recommend her as a makeup artist because of both her skill set and how easy it is to work with her!!
