Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. Sue and Matt captured it effortlessly! They took every picture we requested and got creative with shots we never thought of. They were such a pleasure to work with, were always prompt in getting back to us, and I highly recommend them to capture your most romantic moments in the OBX!

Sue and Matt were an absolute pleasure to work with. I asked them to capture my engagement and the surprise party right after and I couldn't be happier with the results. They are genuinely nice people that are easy to get along with and are very accommodating. I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking to photograph an engagement or any other memorable event.

We were fortunate enough to find Sue relatively last minute for our 9/13/2016 wedding. She did a wonderful job accommodating our needs and even helped me to surprise my (now) husband by learning his favorite song for me to walk down the aisle to. She helped us bring to life the perfect soundtrack for our beach ceremony!

Sue and Matt were great to work with and they were a big help in directing our 10 yr vow renewal ceremony! The violin was a really nice touch and Sue learned our original "wedding song" for the ceremony. The pictures turned out great! I definitely recommend Artz Music & Photography!!

Words cannot express how happy I am that we chose to go with Matt and Sue for our wedding. They were fantastic from day one. I had called around, and was just unsettled with my decision until I spoke with Sue. I expected a quick phone call, but instead I ended up talking with her for 45 minutes. She was incredibly helpful, and made me feel at rest about all of the decisions we had made that far in the planning process. I had decided that they were the best fit for us before I had even hung up the phone. From that point on, Sue was my go to for any questions or concerns that I had about the wedding. They helped us with decisions unrelated to the photography or music that allowed us to stay within our budget. When we made a planning trip down to Corolla, they set aside time within our short visit to meet with us. We left there feeling very confident with our choice. Reflecting back on how well the whole process went, I feel it is so important to emphasis how supportive they were of our budget and our ideas that may have been unique or questionable. They listened to our ideas and made us feel as if we were the best wedding planners they had ever seen. This was especially reassuring since we did not hire a wedding planner. Now onto the actual wedding day - they showed up early and got started right away. A wave of anxiety had washed over me right before they walked in, so I rushed through talking to them and just told them to do what they thought was best. Everything was on time and so smooth. I could not imagine the ceremony or reception going any better. I left that day feeling so overwhelmed with gratitude for them. To top that off, they had our pictures to us wayyy before I expected based on the turnover rate of other photographers I had talked to. My husband :) and I set up the slideshow and were able to relive all the emotions we experienced that day. The pictures were beyond amazing. Our wedding was everything I ever hoped for.

Sue and Matt could not have helped us any more than they did to create and pull off the most perfect wedding day. When we reached out to them we were overwhelmed with all the decisions we had to make from several states away. Sue jumped right in with recommendations, guidance, and reassurances. It was wonderful having 4 vendors in one package. And her catering recommendation (Argyle's) was absolutely amazing! Both Sue and Matt kept everything on track the day of the wedding so all we had to worry about was getting dressed and walking down the aisle. From our first phone call, through emails, our pre-wedding sit down, all the way to the end of our wonderful day we could not have asked for anything more. From the moment I heard Sue's violin music coming from the beach I was emotional. The beauty of the moment could not have been more perfect. Sue kept our wishes and our requests in mind throughout everything, even consulting with us when there was an unusual request from a guest, she just was making sure that everything was exactly what we wanted, I felt like she was my guardian angel helping keep everything the way I had envisioned. And wow did she keep the reception hopping, everyone loved the music, I don't think there was a moment when there weren't people dancing and just having an awesome time. She didn't even shy away from a rather crazy request from me for my Father/Daughter dance. And the pictures, all I can say is Wow! Matt captured everything, from my Dad's face when he saw me in my dress for the first time, the moments I couldn't see because I was getting ready, all the way to our rooftop sunset pictures right before the reception was over. We told Matt we wanted candid shots mostly, we wanted to capture the day in beautiful moments with our family and friends, and that is exactly what he did. If you want everything to run smoothly and be captured beautifully, then Sue & Matt are who you need for your special day!

Sue and Matt were absolutely wonderful! I worked with them for over a year to plan my wedding and everything came out perfectly from them! Sue learned a special song on the violin that I wanted to walk down the aisle to, they helped to coordinate with the our Deacon who had only done a handful of weddings, and coordinated with the catering staff to ensure things ran smoothly at the reception. Having a photographer/musician/coordinator duo was one of the best decision I made about my wedding day! They worked so well together and with us, returned any e-mails or phone calls almost immediately, and they returned our photographs in a timely manner. I definitely recommend these two if you are looking for a relaxing, problem-free day without having to spend a fortune - especially if you are not hiring a coordinator/planner! ((Did I mention Sue's DJ skills were awesome and she played Devil Went Down to Georgia on her violin for us at the reception?!))

Sue and Matt are AMAZING!!! Sue played the violin BEAUTIFULLY for my ceremony. She played traditional songs and the star wars theme for the boys to walk into (which was a huge hit!!! She had a huge variety of songs to pick from and is more than willing to learn new ones. She was also the DJ for my wedding and did an AMAZING job! We told her what kind of music we liked and she completely got what we were looking for and exceeded our expectations! She even added WOW factor to the wedding when she plugged in her violin and played along to some songs toward the end of the night! It was AWESOME!!! Sue even made up a Wedding Timeline and gave me tons of advice throughout the planning process!!! Matt did our photography and he was absolutely PERFECT!!! He captured the day perfectly! I am literally able to go through my photos and completely relive the day! He captured so many candid photos that my husband and I will cherish forever! The best part was we barely even noticed him taking so many pictures!!! Sue and Matt are a package deal for a GREAT price! It was like dealing with one person for three vendors which was awesome and we had a lot of things in common so that was just icing on the cake!!! I wish I could give them more than five stars!!! Matt and Sue were great! I am so glad that I was able to book them for my beach wedding in April this year. The pictures were beautiful, they arrived on time and ready to go and were very professional pre/during/post wedding. I received my photos within a few weeks of the wedding and was very pleased. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

Matt and Sue Artz were our favorite vendors for our wedding in Kill Devil Hill, NC in May of 2014. Sue Artz was amazing on violin and DJ. I walked down the aisle to Canon in D and it was amazing on the beach. She was helpful when it came to vendor selections for a florist, hair and makeup artist, and any questions I had during the preparation for the wedding. The music selection was huge and she was accommodating to our music preferences. Matt was fabulous as our photographer. We selected poses prior to the wedding and he helped us remember everything we wanted during the photo shoot. They were friendly and super easy to talk to but not over the top by any means. Sue would get back to emails in no time and helped us with a timeline for the wedding day. We met with them in September of 2013 and talked to them through emails about planning the wedding throughout the winter. My husband and I highly recommend choosing them as your photographer, violinist, and DJ. We were not disappointed at all and they are truly the best on the Outer Banks. Sincerely, Sarah & Nathan

Sue and Matt were amazing to work with! Sue was our DJ and did our ceremony music and Matt was our photographer. The music that Sue played for our ceremony was beautiful! She was also an amazing DJ. My guests had a great time and loved her song choices. Matt was a great photographer. With his help, we now have amazing wedding photos. Throughout the entire process, Sue and Matt were so helpful. They were always quick to answer any of my questions and were always willing to help in any way that they could. Overall, I highly recommend Artz Music & Photography for any event on the Outer Banks!

From the beginning Sue was responsive, helpful, and provided eyes and ears in a place we simply couldn't be until our wedding. She made our planning process much easier than it would have been otherwise! It's hard to imagine what it would have even been like without her! She provided vendor names and recommendations at different price levels. Sue gave us referrals for an amazing officiant, hair stylist, caterer and anything else we needed. The week of the wedding, Sue checked in with us and eased the anxiety that the weather was causing. This was huge as the weather played a big role in our beach wedding. She also asked for any specific photos we wanted taken and we were able to send her samples of some of these. The violin during the ceremony was BEAUTIFUL and was an EXCELLENT addition! Our photos from the wedding were gorgeous and included everything that we asked for and more! The sunset pictures we got were breathtaking and will forever remind us of our perfect day in the Outer Banks! It was really everything we wanted it to be and Sue and Matt provided that in one combined package. I would recommend them to anyone and hope to have anniversary pictures taken by them one day!!!

Planning a wedding from up in New York was very stressful! Sue Artz relieved a LOT of this stress! We knew we wanted to work with Sue after the first email we exchanged. She immediately put our worries to rest with her easygoing attitude & knowledge about OBX weddings. She welcomed any questions we had during the months leading up to the wedding. Communication was fantastic! Any emails or texts were answered...and quickly. She even recommended the caterer we ended up using (Argyle's) & they were awesome!! She constructed a timeline for our entire wedding that was SO helpful during the planning process & day of. She provided us with music lists to pick songs we liked right away. She also was very accommodating in adding songs that she didn't have that we wanted. Sue is a very talented violinist & played during the ceremony. She didn't even bat an eye when we requested Billy Idol's "White Wedding" for the processional :) I highly recommend having her play along with "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" during the reception; she kills it! And then there's photographer Matt Artz. Matt, much like his wife, is such a nice, easygoing person. He's kind of like a ninja...always there but you don't see him. We really enjoyed that! I've been to weddings where the photographer hijacks the families for hours of pictures & is always in your face. There is none of that with Matt! He moves the staged pictures right along so you can get back to enjoying your big day. He shot any poses we wanted & had a lot of great ideas of his own! For the rest of the reception we didn't even notice him so we were free to just be ourselves and not always feel "on". Having only been married a couple weeks now, our pictures are obviously not ready yet. We have, however, received some teaser photos that we LOVE! Overall, the team of Matt & Sue Artz can't be beat! They know their stuff AND you won't find anyone more reasonable in OBX. It's a win win scenario!

We chose to have a destination wedding and having said that, let me add-it's hard planning an event to somewhere you've never seen! Sue from Artz photography came immediately to my rescue! In my opinion she went above and beyond my expectations. Fast forward to our wedding day, they helped choose an appropriate site which photographed beautifully. We love our wedding pictures! I get chills when I look at them and take a mini mental vacation back to the day. I hope to meet with them next year when we go on vacation!

Sue and Matt were recommended to me by our reception venue, the Hilton Garden Inn, and I read reviews online at WeddingWire.com. Obviously the reviews were awesome, but we basically booked them due to the emails I had back and forth with Sue during the planning phases. She was SO sweet and I just got the best feeling from her...boy was my gut right! Sue was so easy to work with from start to finish, and was able to ease my mind when I had a bridal freak out moment a week before the wedding over the weather forecast. We wanted one thing out of our wedding, and that was for people to have FUN - and they did. Sue had everyone on the dance floor nearly the entire night - it was awesome! What was even cooler was that she would chime in on violin during some of the songs (Devil Went Down to Georgia was a high point, of course!) - everyone loved it! Her playing during the ceremony was absolutely beautiful, and totally fit the setting and how I pictured it. As for Matt... he was AWESOME to work with. He had some great suggestions as to what poses we could do, and said yes to taking any pictures that we had thoughts on. Not to mention that he worked FAST, which is great because I felt like we got in even more pictures than I ever thought we would. We absolutely cannot wait to see the final product! We had a beachside commitment ceremony, and Matt and Sue were phenomenal! While our ceremony was their first "gay" wedding that they had photographed, they were so open-minded and excited to make our photos perfect for our special day. They provided a perfect blend of posed and candid photos to us, and the quality of their photography is amazing! Also, they had let us know that it would likely be 10-12 weeks before we would get our photos, but they got them to us in 5 weeks! We would absolutely recommend them to anybody! They are AMAZING!!!!

Sue is the best! My husband and I renewed our vows after 20 years of marriage, and Sue Artz was instrumental in helping me pull the whole thing together. She helped me build the timeline and plan for what was to happen when; any time I had questions she always had answers. And she plays beautifully! Her DJ skills are unparalleled. Matt and Sue could not have been a more fun and professional choice for our wedding. Sue played the violin at our ceremony at the Elizabethan Gardens; you could hear the music playing as our guests arrived. It was magical! The reception was a blur of dancing: Sue kept the party going and improvised through a couple of tiny hiccups. We were all sad to see them leave at the end of the reception; we wanted more! Matt is such an amazing photographer and so much fun to spend your day with. He did the shots we requested, and has such an amazing eye. He took traditional, modern and some silly shots...the best was with the cake. From the first moment we met Matt and Sue, we realized that this is not just a job...each wedding they work; they give their best. I loved having them be a part of our special day.

She was prompt with her emails, and was very helpful if I had any questions. Sue and Matt showed up the day of and got everything ready and set up in a timely fashion, and even helped us with a few things when we were dealing with the rainy forecast. Even though the evening ended up being clear, it was nice to have someone that knew the venue and could help us out. Sue and Matt Artz were one of the best parts of our wedding. From day one of finding them on-line, Sue made us feel totally comfortable and at ease in hiring them. They really helped make the planning process that much less stressful and it was so wonderful to have all of the services in one. They were very organized with their contract and timing and payment plan very fair. The music was perfect both the violin music for the ceremony and the DJing and the entire 80 people were on their feet the whole night. Sue also learned a Catholic hymn to play just for our wedding since it was an inter-religious ceremony. The pictures arrived about 7 weeks after the wedding (1 week before stated in the contract) and in the meantime she kept sending us "teasers" which were pictures preparing us for what was to come. Out of the 800 pictures, at least 3/4 of them were awesome which was more than expected since we both hate being in front of the camera. Overall, I would strongly recommend Artz Music and Photography and there is no doubt that when we come back for our anniversary photos and party, Sue and Matt will be the ones we call! Sue and Matt were fantastic! My previously booked musician backed out on us 4 days before the wedding. Sue jumped in and saved the day! She played violin at the ceremony and was DJ at the reception. She did amazing at both. We really loved working with both of them. Matt was great and all of our pictures turned out wonderful. They both have great personalities and we really enjoyed spending the day with them.

We used Artz Music and Photography for the ceremony music, dj at our reception and photography. All our guests were blown away by what wonderful music and photographs we got. I was impressed by the helpfulness in planning, and organizing the ceremony and reception. They were very responsive to all emails and I heard back from them on all questions in a very quick fashion. Sue and Matt were so nice and professional to work with. We are so glad we choose them to be apart and make our special day that more special!

The pictures were great. I'm still waiting on the CD but she sent me 20 teasers a week after the wedding and I loved them. Can't wait to get the rest. Sue & Matt were amazing! We did not have a ton of communication prior to our wedding, but they were absolutely fantastic. There were a few hiccups with some schedule changes with the caterers, but Sue & Matt made sure that everything went smooth and ensured that the groom and I were informed of all changes.

We were planning a wedding from several hours away, and I could always call Sue with any questions that I had about the services that they were providing or anything else for the wedding & the Outer Banks. We felt so comfortable with Sue and Matt from the first time we talked to them and knew that they would provide wonderful services for us- and they absolutely delivered! They worked well with our other vendors, made sure that things ran smoothly, and helped us have a fantastic and memorable wedding! The pictures turned out great, and the music was wonderful - our guests continue to rave about both!

I can't say enough good about Artz Music and Photography. They're wonderful people, easy to work with, understanding of my dozens of dumb questions. They were professional but down to earth. My teaser photos are AMAZING and I cannot wait to see the rest. I didn't even realize that the photographer was moving around during the ceremony, so apparently he wasn't in the way! :) We had video done, and I don't see him much there either so they worked well together. Sue is amazing on the violin, and was the perfect DJ for our event. I wish we had an event to use them again for!!!The price was very reasonable and we really enjoyed meeting this great couple.

One thing any bride will tell you is that she always wants to feel special and be number one in the whole wedding planning process. Sue did a great job in making me feel very special from our very fisrt phone conversation. Sue was so helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process and got back to me immediately with answeres to any questions I had. Artz Misuc & Photography are really affordable as well. We chose violin cermony music, DJ and photography package. Matt (Sue's husband) did the photography and what a great guy to work with, He made all those family photos so much fun. Everyone boasted during and after the wedding about how much fun they had because of the DJ. This husband -wife team made my wedding day the most beautiful and fun day of our lives. And her husband/photographer Matt is super also...he makes you feel so comfortable when taking photos, and I know the best shots he had gotten were the funny, candid ones! We are still waiting for our photos but he and Sue sent us some sneak peek pics--they're so beautiful and I literally started to cry....I love this two so much and thank Sue for all her advice up to the days of the wedding...and by the way...get her to play "Devil Went Down to Georgia" during the reception! ;)

Every step of the way to our wedding was made easier by Sue and Matt Artz. Before meeting them, one thing that made them our first choice was the fact that the DJ, ceremony music, and photographer all came together. Their combined pricing, and the fact that we had one less vendor to use were a huge selling point. Once we met them, we realized we were getting the best deal on OBX! They are so easy to deal with, and provide lots of helpful hints for brides planning a destination wedding. They really are in the know! Once we got to our wedding day, they arrived early to check out the venue and get shooting. They we so much fun to be around that day, and added a lot to our wedding. We are looking forward to seeing all the pictures they took. I was so impressed by their professionalism, and energy. Sue's talent on the violin and as the DJ made the ceremony beautiful, and the reception so much fun. Matt was very fun to work with, all the guests and the whole bridal party spoke their praises too! We asked them to come back the next day to do family photos on the beach. They showed up with the same energy and professionalism they showed at the wedding. The family photo shoot was fun, and quick. Matt got over 50 snaps of each family and he was great about moving quickly so we could enjoy the sunny day. On our wedding day, we wanted everything to be perfect. It was, due in a large part to Sue and Matt! If you are looking for a great photographer and DJ-give them a call! I will look to them again in the future for family photo shoots. They really do ROCK!

Matt and Sue Artz are fantastic! They are very professional and very personable. They had shown flexibility when the weather didn't cooperate, and during the reception when the caterer needed a change in the schedule. The pictures are gorgeous, and we have received many compliments. Sue was very helpful to me when I had a payment issue, and she was very quick to respond and help me in resolving that issue. Sue was great with the DJ music! She is a master. I had only a handful of people left in their seats. Everyone was out on the dance floor. She is very good at feeling out the crowd and just going with the vibe. I would recommend Matt and Sue very highly to anyone who needs their services from the DJ, ceremony music(which was beautiful), and the photography. They are great people, and are great at what they do!

Matt and Sue were the perfect pick for our photography and music. Sue added a romantic feel to our beach wedding with her violin and kept the party going at the reception as our DJ. Matt was available before the wedding and stayed for the entire recpetion to capture all of the special moments. As a team, they were able to coordinate flawlessly. So glad we decided to include them on our special day!

From day 1, Sue was helpful beyond all belief. She sent us a timeline for the day to give us some direction, including a full timeline for the reception. We got married in record setting rainfall in Nags Head. The pictures Matt took were outstanding, even with the crazy weather. He gathered everyone together for the few minutes of non-rain to get a few pictures on the beach. Sue incorporated all of my must-play list and added some great dance songs. The dancing at the reception was definitely the highlight of the party. Everyone was chanting 'one more song' at the end of the night. And she played two! Out of all vendors we worked with for our wedding, Artz OBX was by far the most responsive, most helpful, best value (package deal!) and far exceeded our expectations! Matt and Sue have great prices and are very fun to work with! I highly recommend them!

I just wanted to take a moment to toss some MAJOR kudos to Sue and Matt Artz of Artz Music and Photography. Together they provided us with ceremony music and a DJ for the evening. Let me say, these folks are PHENOMENAL!! Our reception was a Halloween party, so they had a pretty significant challenge providing music that fit the theme. We submitted a preliminary playlist of Halloween music and, being huge Halloween people themselves, added their own flavor to it, creating the perfect, mood-fitting music. The ceremony music, with Sue on violin, was absolutely perfect - not an easy task since I asked Sue to learn TWO new pieces for the ceremony. She was more than happy to do it and, with its flawless execution, definitely created a ceremony that was perfectly tailored to us. As an added bonus, they were absolutely delightful to work with!! I had so much fun corresponding with Sue over the year leading up to the wedding...she was SO nice and accommodating. The two of them were so awesome to work with. If you want a musical dynamic duo that is awesome to work with and will bend over backwards to create an experience unique to you, hire Sue and Matt!!!!

I just can't say enough about the duo of Matt and Sue Artz! Having a destination wedding on a budget is NOT an easy thing to do! So needless to say, we did NOT splurge for the wedding planner. We initially chose Matt and Sue because of the price of their photo/music packages. And we couldn't be happier! Sue really helped along the way with so many things! She helped us pick the best possible ceremony time based on the tide and sunset and her time table for the reception really helped with the planning with the caterers as well. Not to mention that she was great at helping to decrease the stress level on any given day!! The week of the wedding, we met Matt and Sue in person for the first time since we had initially met them at the Outer Banks Wedding Expo, and they were fabulous. They took all of our suggestions/requests and made suggestions to help make the day run smoother. The day of the wedding, I was an absolute wreck as Tropical Storm Arlene had decided to visit Hatteras Island. Sue kept in constant contact with me all day assuring me that everything would work out. The ceremony music was beautiful, and I was REALLY happy when my not so common requests got the OK from Sue. And she kept the party going at the reception! Matt took about a bazillion photos and I actually just received them this week and they are fabulous! I would recommend Matt and Sue Artz to anyone planning a wedding in the Outer Banks!!!

You need to book Sue for your wedding! She was so awesome from start to finish. She even learned a special song to play at our wedding!! We were able to have a mix of modern & traditional songs played during the processional & recessional which I really liked. :-) You will not be disapointed!

I hired Artz as my DJ, Violinist, and Photographer for my wedding on May 3rd. Matt and Susan were so friendly and easy to work with. We worked together prior to the wedding to ensure a unique experience. Matt was every where taking photos! When I got the photos, they were beyond what I had hoped. Clear, beautifully done, and well worth the money!

We hired Leslie as a solo violinist for our beach wedding and we couldn't have been more pleased! She was professional, elegant and played exactly the music we were looking for. She even stayed longer then contracted for and played through our cocktail hour as well. All of our guests were amazed by her and it was the perfect touch to what was already a perfect day!
