About this vendor
I've been officiating weddings since 2012 and one of my favorite things is helping couples create a beautiful, memorable ceremony that they and their guests will remember forever. My goal is for couples to have the ceremony they have dreamed of by collaborating with them to customize their ceremony to them as a couple. Many couples want to keep it short and simple, while others prefer to include personal touches like including their love story or what they love about each other, or the touch of a candle lighting, sand ceremony, wine box ceremony including personal letters to each other, or a number of other unity ceremonies. I love hearing from guests and the couple themselves how touched they were, and were even moved to tears at the commitment taking place.
I was ordained as a minister in 2012, and began public speaking in 2008. I am very comfortable speaking in front of crowds, and enjoy it very much. I’m also able to officiate bilingual ceremonies in both English and Spanish. Having learned Spanish starting in Kindergarten, my Spanish pronunciation is good.
I do many types of ceremonies including:
- non-denominational
- traditional
- same-sex
- civil
- multi-faith
- vow renewals
- bilingual Spanish/English
I also love having fun with ceremonies. My business name, As You Wish Weddings, is a nod to The Princess Bride, and I have been asked many times to include lines from the wedding scene, accent included! I LOVE doing that! I've also added lines from couples' favorite movies and shows such as Ted Lasso, Parks and Rec, The Office, Schitt's Creek, Star Wars, etc.

When I am not officiating weddings, I am a confidence coach for women, helping them transform their confidence from the inside out, to see their worth, empowering them to reach their dreams and believe in themselves.
I also use my coaching skills to help many engaged couples through pre-marital coaching before they tie the knot. This helps the couple make sure they are on the same page about the big stuff, and gives them additional communication skills to work through challenges as they arise, bringing them even closer together before making their life long commitment.

Erin has a wonderful, warm personality that instantly put us at ease. She answered our silly questions, walked us through the process, and led a beautiful ceremony. We were both ve...
ry nervous (and excited) and we were impressed with how well she led the ceremony. I loved how she was able to customize the experience for us. Besides being great at what she does, she is just a lovely person. We would highly recommend Erin to be your officiant!
Erin was so incredibly warm, and friendly, and yet incredibly talented and professional as well. She really listened to us, and knew exactly how to make our ceremony unique and one...
of a kind. We could not have asked for a more perfect, and personalized ceremony, and we loved her so much we asked her to stay for the whole evening!
Erin is such an awesome person! Her personality made us feel super great about our choice. We wanted a professional and she did not disappoint. She was very communicative and broug...
ht up things I, as a bride, didn’t even think about. If I ever got divorced, I’d pick her again for my next wedding.
We were so happy to have Erin as our wedding officiant! She was timely, professional, and very easy to communicate with throughout the whole process. Erin took care of sending in o...
ur marriage license, which made everything simple and stress-free for us. I especially loved the beautiful speech she prepared—it was exactly what we were hoping for and made our ceremony feel so meaningful. We’re so grateful to Erin for making our day so special and would highly recommend her to any couple!
We were so lucky to have had Erin marry us. From the moment we met Erin, she made us feel understood and card for. She didn't just officiate our wedding - she made it truly ours. T...
he ceremony was filled with love, joy, and little touches that reflected who we are as a couple. It honestly felt like she was part of our family on that day.
As a more mature couple, who had been together for over 30 years, our wedding was anything but traditional! It was private, just the two of us, and we wanted to make it our own. Er...
in listened to our wishes and incorporated in the ceremony our story and how we got to this point. With us not meeting until the day of the wedding, our phone calls were all we had to feel a connection with Erin, and that was definitely there. We truly enjoyed working with Erin and sharing our special day with her. Highly recommend!
First of all, I want to thank Erin for providing a beautiful ceremony for our wedding. Since the beginning that I contacted her through The Knot, she was very professional and resp...
ected my time. She responded so quickly to my messages because as a Bride, your stress levels are through the roof. When my husband and I, requested a meeting, she was very nice, helpful, and listened to what we wanted. We wanted to have a bilingual wedding with our Catholic religion incorporated in the ceremony. She provided us with two samples and helped us decide because both were beautiful. My favorite part was the fact that she was able to include the Lazzo tradition in our ceremony. The day of the wedding, she was very considerate enough to stop by in my bridal room and ask for my vows so that she can hold on to them. That was so helpful since I was so nervous and was already worried about not forgetting my bouquet and of course to not trip in front of everyone. So thank you Erin for making it so easy and beautiful for our the special day. I high recommend hiring Erin for your ceremony.

ery responsive manner. Erin did a great job making us feel comfortable in front of everyone despite our nerves. My husband and I highly recommend Erin as your wedding officiant.
First of all, we traveled from MD to get married in Napa, just the two of us. Had never met Erin but “had a feeling” when we talked on the phone. She was GREAT! Our location at a p...
rivate estate was not the easiest to navigate but she was on time and did an amazing job. As a bride and groom, those are the most important moments and Erin made it magical for us. We are both grateful for her! On a scale of 1-10, she’d get 100.
I have so many good things to say about our experience with Erin that I'm not even sure where to begin! It's important to note that my husband and I were planning our Sacramento we...
dding from New York City, which is no easy feat. Despite the distance, Erin was more than willing to "meet" with us over the phone multiple times to discuss her services, perfect our ceremony, and guide us through the process of obtaining our marriage license. We were originally booked for a 2020 wedding and decided to postpone to 2021 due to COVID. Erin was incredibly understanding and willing to move our ceremony to 2021 with no repercussions, which made a difficult situation much easier. Leading up to our wedding, Erin provided us with sample ceremonies and allowed us all of the space we needed to customize them as we saw fit. She also shared a ceremony including Jewish traditions, which gave us just the inspiration we needed to feature some Jewish elements in our ceremony. We were so happy to create a ceremony that fit us as a couple so perfectly. On our wedding day itself, Erin checked in with me when I was feeling my most stressed. I shared that I was worried about key components of our ceremony being delivered to the site by the venue. Although I do not believe it is part of her job description, she followed up to ensure everything made its way there. It was so comforting to know that I could rely on her. Our ceremony was beautiful and everything I dreamed it would be. It was heartfelt and emotional for all of us. Between her guidance and our beautiful ceremony, Erin was invaluable on our wedding day and I highly recommend anyone considering booking her to do so immediately.
Erin was such a joy to work with. We wanted a non-religious but spiritual service and she was willing and able to work with us to find the perfect blend between myself and my now ...
husband. When we found out that our original plans were postponed due to COVID she was willing to work with us to figure out a new game plan and to calm our fears and help us swing with the punches that came with planning a wedding during COVID. We can’t wait to have her officiate our renewal celebration with all of our friends and family next year!
We retained Erin as our officiant and couldn’t be happier with her services. One of the biggest selling points for us was that in almost every photo on her website, she is SMILING ...
and/or LAUGHING! We wanted someone who was going to make the day a true celebration, not a eulogy. She provided us some different ceremony templates and worked through them with us to change, add or eliminate to our desires. She even added in special touches that were personalized to us – we each individually sent her things we love about eachother and she worked those into the ceremony. We wanted a non-denominational ceremony and were pleased with her offerings. We also wanted it to be quick, and she made sure to keep the talking brief! Last, she handled all the paperwork quickly after the ceremony and filed it for us with the County Clerk’s office. She was very accommodating, and we even met on Skype a couple times because we were too lazy to drive out to meet in person . If you are considering getting an officiant for your wedding, consider Erin Summ. You will not be disappointed.
Erin Summ was wonderful. She treated us like family and helped us with our ceremony. She made all the nerves go away. I was very comfortable with Erin.
