rough a number of changes with vendors to make it work. The whole time, Kate was super supportive and did everything she could to make our day work out. She was always responsive when I had questions, worked well with our other vendors, and even gave us a partial refund when we had to downsize. We had a beautiful ceremony under an arbor near the English garden, and had a small reception under Ashland's tent behind the cafe. This venue was great for our small wedding, but I know our original 100-person event would have been beautiful here as well. I highly recommend.

Before she left she made sure that someone was on the grounds to continue to make sure we had everything we needed. The service, to the location was top notch. Not only was the servce excellent, the location is beautiful. Between the manicured garden and lawn, to the abundance of trees and shade, to the beautiful backdrop of a stunning house, it made for a perfect outdoor wedding. Should I ever need a venue for another event, Ashland will be my go to.

Imagine my horror when my car pulled up to the site to my small, classy intimate wedding ceremony, to discover 2 giant party buses parked there, and a bride, groom, and massive wedding party all roaming around the property taking photos and being loud and disruptive. I had to sit in the car for 15 minutes waiting for them to leave. I was kind of annoyed because we had paid to use the grounds and they had not. And it specifically says in the rules that professional photographers need to check in with the office, which they did not. It ended up pushing our ceremony back a little because I was not going to start it with all that commotion going on. But ultimately it was my wedding day, it ended up being a beautiful and simple ceremony, and nice and quiet after the party busses were gone, and I wasn’t going to let anything make me unhappy that day. But I do think it would be helpful for the managers of Ashland to be aware that stuff like this happens. Had our wedding been a large one, I don’t think we would have been vulnerable to this sort of thing. But it was very alarming to show up and see that, especially for a bride who was already a bundle of nerves :)
