As beautiful as our wedding venue and photos were at Ashland, we had serious issues with the communication and events managers. There was some turnover for the events manager posit...
ion during our year-long planning process which didn't seem to be an issue until wedding week. They weren't responsive to any questions, refused to help move any of the tables in the brick cafe patio where our table was going, and also refused to power wash the brick. Surprisingly none of these were the biggest issues we had. Ashland locked us out of the electrical box required to power our entire wedding...keep in mind we paid a deposit which should cover basic venue costs like electricity. Without the help of the Ashland events staff my wedding planner was able to access half of the electrical box needed. She had to go get her personal generators which she luckily had in order to have enough power for heaters and for our musicians. Luckily our planner was able to troubleshoot but I really don't want any others to encounter these issues. The venue itself is beautiful and a classic Lexington location, and costs are quite affordable, but not worth it considering all of the issues we had.
Had a terrific experience with Kate Heil. We eloped with a small ceremony in the garden which Kate suggested since we had a small party. The garden is gorgeous. Very happy with com...

We got married here this summer after changing all our original wedding plans and postponing our big wedding due to COVID. We still wanted to do something special and tie the knot ...
with our immediate family and siblings on our original day. This spot was perfect for our intimate ceremony and made our romantic garden dreams come true. Kate was amazing to work with and made the quick transition to intimate ceremony so easy and stress free. Highly recommend for any event big or small!
All our plans for our wedding changed when COVID hit, and after deciding to postpone our large wedding, we made a last minute decision to go ahead and have a small ceremony on our ...
originally intended wedding day.
We called the Henry Clay Estate and Katie was so kind and helpful! She talked us through our options and despite being crunched for time we made something work.
It was a BEAUTIFUL venue that we can revisit for years to come to relive the memory of our wedding day. Highly recommend!
I got married here this summer (2020... so during the pandemic) and couldn't have hoped for a better venue for our ceremony and reception. Our ceremony was originally going to have...
100 guests, but we ended up cutting it down to ~25, and went through a number of changes with vendors to make it work. The whole time, Kate was super supportive and did everything she could to make our day work out. She was always responsive when I had questions, worked well with our other vendors, and even gave us a partial refund when we had to downsize. We had a beautiful ceremony under an arbor near the English garden, and had a small reception under Ashland's tent behind the cafe. This venue was great for our small wedding, but I know our original 100-person event would have been beautiful here as well. I highly recommend.

We were able to orchestrate an elegant and dignified ceremony on a modest budget, thanks to the cooperation of the Henry Clay Estate.

My daughter wanted an outdoor wedding. After a lot of looking, she settled on Ashland and it was amazing. From the tour, to the booking of the location, to the day of delivery for ...
the rentals, to the day of the wedding, Kate (the event planner for Ashland), was phenomenal. She was there from minute one of the wedding day until after the wedding. Before she left she made sure that someone was on the grounds to continue to make sure we had everything we needed. The service, to the location was top notch.
Not only was the servce excellent, the location is beautiful. Between the manicured garden and lawn, to the abundance of trees and shade, to the beautiful backdrop of a stunning house, it made for a perfect outdoor wedding.
Should I ever need a venue for another event, Ashland will be my go to.

d beautiful pictures. Kate was great to work with, very helpful and responsive. The day of, there were staff people on the grounds to make sure everything went well for us. We know we made the perfect venue choice! :)

s are amazing. Everyone there was so helpful!
Our wedding was here last June and it was lovely. Because we were having a very small and short wedding (20 guests), the manager Kate worked with us to give us a discount, which wa...
s very helpful. My only complaint is that there was really no one there to monitor the grounds. Imagine my horror when my car pulled up to the site to my small, classy intimate wedding ceremony, to discover 2 giant party buses parked there, and a bride, groom, and massive wedding party all roaming around the property taking photos and being loud and disruptive. I had to sit in the car for 15 minutes waiting for them to leave. I was kind of annoyed because we had paid to use the grounds and they had not. And it specifically says in the rules that professional photographers need to check in with the office, which they did not. It ended up pushing our ceremony back a little because I was not going to start it with all that commotion going on. But ultimately it was my wedding day, it ended up being a beautiful and simple ceremony, and nice and quiet after the party busses were gone, and I wasn’t going to let anything make me unhappy that day. But I do think it would be helpful for the managers of Ashland to be aware that stuff like this happens. Had our wedding been a large one, I don’t think we would have been vulnerable to this sort of thing. But it was very alarming to show up and see that, especially for a bride who was already a bundle of nerves :)
