n my wife and I were looking for a photographer, we wanted someone with not only a lot of talent and skill behind the lens, but someone who is easy to work with, personable, would take the time to understand us, help us feel comfortable and at ease taking pictures (since we both felt awkward when people took our pictures), and would be part of the team to make our wedding day amazing. We met with Ashlen and she explained her process and her style, explained to me how she shot (and what the difference was in film and digital because I didn't know), and worked to let us get to know her as a person and as a professional and how she would fit in with our day. Ashlen went above and beyond expectations. She heard us, our vision, the shots we were hoping to get, and provided guidance from the numerous weddings she has done in the past. She went absolutely above and beyond what you could hope for from your photographer. We did engagement photos and had our shoot our wedding. For the engagement photos, she helped us pick a location that fit our vision and worked with us through extremely finnicky Houston weather to find a date that worked. The photos were amazing...even getting our dog to cooperate. After we saw those photos, we were even more excited to see what she would do with our wedding. The photos we just got back were INCREDIBLE! The natural light style Ashlen uses makes every photo look like a work of art. She has an incredible eye for detail, knew what was important to us for photos, worked with our day of coordinator to ensure she had all the time she needed, and captured so many of the moments beautifully. We have seen other talented photographers at work, but didn't have the right personality for us that would help us relax and enjoy the day. Ashlen is incredibly skilled at photography and making it seem like a natural and seemless and stress free part of the wedding day. We got our wedding photos back right around the 3 week mark which was amazing since it was the end of the year and all of the holiday craziness. The photos were amazing and worth the short wait! I cannot say enough good things about Ashlen or how much my wife and I appreciate her, all of the photos she took, the memories that she captured, and the special role that she played on our day.
