Not only did she take the most incredible photos of us for our engagement and on our wedding day, she was such an amazing resource for other parts of the day as well. She gave me her honest opinion and recommendations on different vendors and things we really need, helped us put together a smart timeline, and was just such a joy to work with. Fast forward to 2017 and we have hired Ashley to take photos of our newborn baby girl when she arrives in a couple of weeks. She is the best there is!

I felt like she was right there for me the entire time and was able to capture exactly what I wanted in a very non-invasive, "non-stagy" way. We absolutely LOVED working with her. After our wedding, we received a "teaser" blog with some of the most stunning images I've ever seen! We couldn't wait until we got to view them all! Only a few weeks later, we had access to ALL 2,000 photos and there is not even one that disappoints. They are truly incredible, timeless pieces that capture every detail, every mood, and every feeling that day. We are SO happy we went with Ashley and are blessed to have her work to share with our kids and grandkids down the road!

getting to know us as a couple and hearing what was most important to us on our wedding day. She listened carefully about what wedding picture style we wanted (editorial and light) and she DELIVERED! She made us all feel very comfortable and relaxed all throughout the day. I honestly (and I mean honestly) wasn't stressed at all the entire day and I attribute much of this to how well Ashley is able to ease any fears you might have, help address any problems that might come up (I refer to her as a therapist and wedding coordinator as well as photographer extraordinaire), and overall help your day be everything that you hoped it would be. I didn't know Ashley before I hired her but over the length of our engagement Ashley has truly become a friend. I refer her to EVERYONE because she is truly that good! To share a true story: one of my bridesmaids is getting married after me and already selected her photographer. Halfway through my wedding she asked her fiance if they could fire their photographer and hire Ashley because she was so blown away by how awesome she is. THAT'S how great she is, people! One piece of advice I can give all brides who hire Ashley is this: communicate thoroughly what's important to you in your wedding pictures, take any advice Ashley gives you about timeline, which vendors are best, etc. She has been in the industry for a long time and knows weddings better than we as brides do. I assure you of this! The second piece of that advice is to forget all about your wedding pictures on the day of your wedding and have an amazing time celebrating. Ashley will direct you when necessary but her true strength is take exceptional pictures when you don't even notice she's there. One of my best memories of my wedding was just savoring all of the moments as they came and passed. Photography was one of the most important details to me but it was also one of the things I almost forgot about completely because Ashley was so good at capturing the moments and making everyone look flattering without them even aware that the picture was being taken. For portraits, which are a bit more posed, Ashley had a KEEN eye to detail. She was able to quickly move through each picture while ensuring everyone looked amazing. To give you an example, Ashley went through the family portraits exceptionally fast but noticed even the smallest details like my husband's dad's pocket being just slightlyyyy out. It's a magical thing to watch. I have never seen anyone with this level of perfectionism while still operating as quickly as she does. When it became clear that Steve's Mom, Jeannie was losing her battle with cancer, our family supported Alex and Steve's decision to marry in a very small, private ceremony on June 28, 2014 so that Steve's Mom could attend.....we absolutely TREASURE the thoughtful and poignant photographs Ashley took for us...they are gorgeous, and we never saw her taking most of them. It was like she was everywhere. The photos are emotionally rich, and I believe that is because Ashley herself lost her own mother before her own wedding. Her sincere desire to capture these fleeting moments comes through in her work. And believe it or not she out-did herself a few months later at the September celebration as well. What she charged for her services doesn't begin to repay the gratitude we feel for her. Our family suffered both tragedy and joy this year, and Ashley captured it all. We are grateful to her. We had clouds all day, but Ashley did amazing work and captured some of the most beautiful skies I have ever seen in our photos. Her sparkler pictures are AWESOME! Everyone commented on them on our save the dates and wondered how on earth it was done. She had pictures posted to Facebook so stinking fast I didn't believe Matt when he said they were up. Our wedding was an hour away from our reception location and we got married in February. In central Illinois. If you can imagine, there were some major concerns with travel, timeline, etc. Ashely was an integral part of planning our day and made me feel so relaxed with how confident she was we could get everything done that we wanted. We talked the day before the wedding to go over all the details of the big day. She was so concerned with what we wanted from her and made the weekend all about us. It was such a great feeling to know she cares. The day of our wedding was a weather disaster. Winter time (especially this past one!) in central Illinois can be a pain. The second Ashely walked into the church she started taking charge of how things were going to be altered a little to accommodate the rain/sleet/snow we were getting. This girl has back up plans for her back up plans! I was terrified when I woke up that no one was going to come to our wedding. Ashely made sure first of all that I was enjoying the day and secondly what I wanted to do. She made sure the day was about us. We survived the day and had a preview of pictures by the next morning. I'm still not sure how she did this because she went back to St. Louis from Springfield that night! I still can't believe that the couple in those pictures is us. It overwhelms me every time I look at both our engagement and wedding pictures how well she captured our personalities and our love for each other. Her creativity is amazing. Despite the fact there was blizzard outside, we agreed to go out to the street to take some night time shots with her. Who would have thought standing in the snow could turn out so amazing! Ashley is an amazing photographer and has become a friend to us. I will recommend her to EVERYONE. Every time you look at those photographs you will remember exactly how you were feeling because she doesn't just capture the image, but the emotions as well.

I was absolutely thrilled that she was available, especially given that our planning time was short. My husband was a little dismayed at the price tag at first. Photography seems expensive, right? Especially if you're not accustomed to paying for professional work. So, I showed him the pricing on a few similar photographers in the St Louis metro as well as some of their work. He quickly agreed we'd be getting maximum value for the price. The only hiccup in the planning was a little difficulty in deciding where to have the pictures taken: I think she was trying to accommodate our tastes while we weren't doing a great job of communicating our relative unfamiliarity with St Louis. We ultimately ended up with Forest Park, where she'd tracked a great combination of gardens, woods, and architectural backgrounds. We met Ashley for the first time the day of our wedding and found her to be extremely pleasant to work with. Her instructions were clear and concise. And, frankly, not dumb. I've been a bridesmaid a number of times, and I've been in so many really stupid pictures. Pro tip: girls in strapless dresses and four inch heels aren't heavily into leaping. Anyway. Her poses were sophisticated and flattering. I'm relatively shy and not crazy about having my picture taken, but she was so genuinely nice and warm I didn't feel self-conscious. We had portraits made with our extended families, and she really seemed to have a rapport with everyone from our nearly-newborn-niece to an elderly grandmother. The processing time on the photos was a few days quicker than promised, which hugely impressed me. And now I'm flipping through them over and over, marveling on how well they turned out.
