On the wedding day, she took such great care of us. Even managing to arrange a beautiful photo of my large and impatient extended family, which is not an easy feat! One of my favorite wedding day memories is Ashley huddling around me to hide me from my wife before the first look (plot twist, it was just a fedex truck!). The sneak peek photos were provided shortly after the wedding, and Ashely provided the entire wedding album with 858 beautiful unique photos in a timely fashion just like she said she would. If I had a question, she would rarely go more than 30 minutes without getting back to me. She checked in frequently and made sure I felt good about how wedding planning was progressing. I wanted to make sure I would have someone who was experienced with capturing different skin tones and different cultural wedding traditions - and Ashley definitely has both. From the moment we had a meeting with her - we knew we were going to have her be our photographer. She was warm, bubbly and very knowledgeable and her wedding experience clearly shone through. She really brought my fiance out of his shell and made him smile, and we knew we'd have fun spending 10 hours with her on our wedding day. She also put us at ease when we talked about navigating difficult family dynamics - again her extensive experience here came through! She also is incredibly responsive and communication with her is a breeze! On the day of the wedding - I can't even begin to describe how much fun Ashley made our day. We had so much fun laughing with her and even moments that could be stressful (family photos!) were really fun with her touch. We felt like we were hanging out with a friend all day. My parents and bridal party told me how sweet she was and how they loved being photographed by her. Then the amazing photos... she turned them around so fast it was amazing - our guests couldn't believe it. She made sure to take our preferences into consideration. We looooooved the quality and style of the photos. Most importantly, she captured all the important moments and the important people who were there. It was so fun reliving parts of the ceremony that I didn't even remember because it was a blur. She captured our cultural ceremony perfectly. She also made a priority to get photos from our photolist with important people in our lives - which we so appreciated after we had an unexpected loss in the family and realized how important it is to have photos memorializing everyone there. Many other friends and brides who used other photographers told me they wished their photographer captured photos of them with family/important people but Ashley made sure to get all of those and there was no one who was left out. I cannot stress how important this is and what an incredible job Ashley did capturing everyone there. My parents could not have been happier with the photos which was so important to us. I would highly recommend Ashley for your wedding and wouldn't look anywhere else! I have already recommended her to friends getting married in the Chicagoland area. I was also put off by how many photographers were using filters that muted what I felt were true, brighter colors (personally preference, for sure) and I loved the colors in Ashley’s photos. Ashley made us laugh SO hard during our engagement photos!! The colors and happiness exuded through. And then our wedding photos — she and her assistant for the day were fantastic. They were able to easily go with the flow (our timing was WAY off all day long and we needed to ask Ashley to stay for an extra hour) and the photos are beautiful. What’s even more amazing is that when I realized I didn’t have a picture hugging my sister after her speech, I asked Ashley if she might have one and she sat on FaceTime with me looking for the right photo to add to our collection. Definitely above and beyond, and we wouldn’t hesitate for a second before hiring Ash again!!

Her amazing personality was only overshadowed by her experience and the quality of her work.  The best story that demonstrates her passion and commitment was during the pre-wedding photos.  We ended up going to a park by our venue with both parties, not only did she know where the best shots were to have but she was able to secure each location.  The park was packed with pregnancy, birthday, and engagement sessions and when we arrived we were worried about how waiting would mess up our timeline.  I have never had or seen another vendor "box out" multiple groups, people, and overall just have so much success moving random people around.  Her main goal was us, and making sure that we were delivered everything that we wanted. She balanced and coordinated everything so seamlessly and came through with our photos. The quality was just as surprising as her effectiveness, we still have never seen images more crisp or clean!   Our wedding day was stressful enough but having her was an honest blessing. Her commitment, dedication, and experience made everything easier on us.  We recommend her to all friends and family.   It's safe to say, she is one of the best photographers in the Chicagoland area.

We did a first look, and both Ashley and her partner had a game plan for some amazing shots!! During the wedding she kept up with us and made sure we were enjoying our day. She was never far from us in case we needed a photo. There was one point the bride said “oh we should get a picture when the photographer is done eating” and Ashley was by our side in a second as she had heard us from several tables away and darted to our sides! Ashley felt more like a guest at our wedding than a vendor -- she was so much fun and did such a great job. All the photos were more than we could have hoped for. We have been reliving the day by going through them all.

I really cannot express how much her presence was a gift on my big day - she kept me calm and was aware of so many details that were missed (like reminding my sister to take her watch off for pictures or picking lint or a stray hair off a shoulder), and none of the pictures we ended up with looked forced or staged. Her style is very organic - this meant that I could keep my introverted groom focused on me and our day without him feeling on-the-spot or uncomfortable. Normally he can be quite stiff for pictures - but her photos really captured the man I fell in love with and the love we share. She even FaceTimed with me on a Friday night and reached out to nearly all of her florist contacts to help me find someone after I unexpectedly had to cancel my contract with my previous florist. Needless to say, Ashley was more than just my photographer, but was a friend/therapist through the entire process and I could not have done it without her. The day of the wedding, Ashley was organized and commanded the whole group to make sure we stayed on schedule. The entire wedding party and all of the parents loved her and she was joyful to be around the whole day. Also, I have been to several weddings where all you notice is the photographer snapping pictures, but somehow she managed to be discreet and blend in with the wedding- and still get all of the pictures! Having my wedding in December, my biggest fear was what the weather was going to be like and how to prepare for it. In true friend fashion, Ashley helped me pick out the “just in case umbrellas” and drove around town the day before the wedding looking for all the potential photo locations. Of course it poured the day of, but we made the most of it and the umbrella pictures are some of my favorites! Every single picture turned out absolutely amazing. Hamm Photography was the best decision we made while wedding planning. Throughout our planning process, Ashley was helping us plan from hundreds of miles away.
