Throughout our correspondence, Ashley aggressively attempted to upsell us on various services we did not engage her for nor was she qualified to handle–including wedding videography and DJing, and sent us long ChatGPT-generated text messages trying to convince us to add on these services. Reluctantly, we agreed to let her DJ at the end of wedding, despite the fact that she admitted having little-to-no experience doing it. On the actual wedding day, Ashley arrived completely unprepared. She was late to set up her equipment for cocktail hour and ended up playing for only the second-half of her slot. Guests arrived with no music playing. During the ceremony, she missed virtually every possible cue, despite very clear instructions we repeatedly sent in advance: the song my wife wanted to walk down the aisle to played late, and the music we were supposed to exit the ceremony to didn't play until we were several yards past the aisle. Several of our guests made remarks to us about this afterward. Ashley was contracted to perform live music after the ceremony from 6-8PM, but instead just played music from her laptop. Ashley's "DJing" ended up just being her clicking between songs on Spotify from a laptop, despite promises over text that she had proper equipment including a mixing controller. There was a cheap controller on the DJ table with her that was purely decorative. She jumped between songs with zero flow, started several songs over from the beginning multiple times, and played songs we explicitly asked her not to play (despite us spending many hours curating a list of songs for her). The following day, I followed up with Ashley to ask why she only played live music for one hour instead of the three hours she was contracted to play–looking entirely past all of the amateur mistakes she made throughout the day. Ashley admitted to us she forgot that she was supposed to play music at that time. For a vendor we paid $4,000 to play on the biggest day of our lives this felt completely unacceptable. Ashley offered to send a partial refund for this oversight. I generously offered to split the difference with her at around $1,000 (she missed 2 hours of live music @ her $1,000/hr rate) so that she still felt she was compensated fairly, despite botching literally everything. Ashley offered to reimburse me $300 and proceeded to send me incoherent ChatGPT-generated text messages attempting to justify this number with outlandish logic, including that she had to travel 2 hours to get to the venue, and that her Spotify playlist qualified as the provided "music coverage" for the reception. I followed up multiple times with Ashley trying to find a reasonable middle ground; each time, Ashley replied with AI-written messages and has since stopped replying entirely. I respect that Ashley is a very talented musician, but our entire engagement with her was deeply unprofessional, amateur, and certainly not worth what she charged us. In the end, we paid her $4,000 for roughly 45mins of live music and 6+ hours of Spotify – which apparently she thinks is acceptable. Strongly do not recommend.

ed the piano and sang at our cocktail hour. If I could give Ashley 1000 stars I would!!! We had a formal black tie wedding, and it was important to us to offer our guests a black tie experience. Ashley was one of the first vendors we hired, our wedding planner found her, and from the start, Ashley was willing to work with us on our creative ideas, learning new songs that we held dear to our hearts, even customizing a song for me to walk down the aisle to… she had everyone in happy tears hearing her beautiful voice walk me down the aisle. Both my wedding planner and I said on multiple occasions how amazing Ashley was to work with. If you’re thinking of hiring her, do not hesitate, do it. We went to see Ashley play live at a much more casual setting prior to our wedding and I can honestly say her diversity in being able to deliver a vibe in both a casual,  fun, upbeat setting, all the way to setting the tone for a formal, moody, glowing black tie wedding just blew us away. Thank you Ashley for EVERYTHING.

In addition to offering an extensive song repertoire for us to choose from, she was willing to learn a song that was special to us for our ceremony, which made the moment feel incredibly personal and meaningful. What stood out to us was how thoughtfully she tailored her cocktail hour set to match our vision. We had requested a 1940s/1950s jazz vibe, and she nailed it, creating the perfect atmosphere that was both classy and relaxed. So many of our guests commented on how fantastic the music was, and even the venue staff took the time to compliment her performance. She worked with our venue to provide her own setup, making the process easier for us. We wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a talented and dedicated musician to elevate their special event.
