Ashley Nicole Cakes

I was first referred to Ashley Nicole cakes by a friend last summer when I was looking for a custom cake for my sisters wedding. Since then I have ordered five other cakes and cupcakes. I am obsessed! Not only are her designs credibility beautiful, detailed and LUSH. Her cakes taste amazing! Ashley is very professional and honest.

Ashley is one of the most thoughtful, creative, and easiest baker's to work with. She is always so kind and I can tell that she has a passion for what she does. I appreciated that she was responsive and took the time to help design my wedding cake. The whole process took weight off my shoulders. I had stressed out, as choosing a bakery was the last thing on my mind between planning, dress shopping, preparing my RSVP's, looking at venues, etc- too many things to do. I didn't want to bear through trying to schedule different tastings, let alone get charged over $100 for one! Ashley made it simple. I admit, its not a traditional tasting as she only offers Mini cupcakes, but they were sooo yummy and so worth it. The sample box offered is fairly affordable. She was very helpful in helping me choose the right size cake to feed my guests and they were NOT disappointed! We ordered a two tier Honey Lavender & Chocolate cake for our wedding. It was delicious! I highly recommend Ashley Nicole Cakes for your wedding. She is the BEST!

Ashley baked me a decent Paris-theme wedding cake at a low price. Well, it was initially cheap until I added all the extra cost I incurred later. This was supposed to be a one-star review but she was very responsive to emails which I liked. Hence, the additional star. I‘m giving her 2 stars because of some factors: 1) She didn’t offer a proper cake tasting. Her tasting consisted of very, very small bite-size cupcakes which was a first. They made me feel insignificant - almost like a dog being thrown a bone to be honest. I just sucked it up due to the cheap price (or so I thought); 2)The Eiffel Tower she drew on the front was off so it didn’t photograph well; 3)There was also more filling rather than cake or strawberry slices in each tier. She probably did this to make each tier taller while keeping costs down which, by the way, was still shorter than the 4.5 inches written on the contract; 4) She also didn’t offer a delivery service so we had to pick up the wedding cake so that was an extra cost and 5) she couldn’t stack them so we had to pay our pastry chef at the reception venue to get it stacked so that was another additional cost. Overall, the cake ended up as expensive as some of the wedding cakes I considered but it was worsened by the fact that I was also inconvenienced in the process. This is just my experience, though. She might still do a better job with your cake so I will still suggest hiring her especially if you’re on a budget and you live in the San Mateo area.
