When I first started planning my wedding and booking vendors, I thought "how hard can this be, I don't need a wedding planner". A few months in, overwhelmed and all over the plac...
e, I learned I was incredibly wrong. Ashley was the first person I reached out to, and Thank God I did!! From that first intro call I already felt a great connection, weight lifted and knew she would be the perfect woman for the job. She was always quick to respond and available when I needed her, which was a lot considering I was so oblivious to everything that goes into planning a wedding. She definitely had her work cut out for her lol. We spent hours on the phone planning the timeline from start to finish, and made sure there was time for us to take a breather, eat and even had our favorite cocktails ready for us after the ceremony. She walked through the venue with me to create the floor plan, going over every single detail. The best part is she was so fun to work with and talk to. So much that our "30 minute" calls easily turned into an hour+ because it was hard to stay on topic. Felt like I was talking to a friend before we even met in person, and I think that's so important to have in a wedding planner.
We were thrown a curve ball on wedding day when the forecast showed 100% rain. To prevent me from freaking out, her and my MOH were behind the scenes figuring out plan B (per my request). We were fortunate to have the ceremony outside, but had to move dancing inside the dining room. I was devastated at first, but once I was at the venue, I had a sense of calm and knew that Ashley had everything under control- and she did. Even though many things didn't go as planned, I couldn't have imagined a better wedding day. It was so perfectly imperfect.
Once the day was over, I learned how much mayhem was going on down stairs, while I was so happy in my suite getting hyped up with my bridesmaids. Just about everything we spent so much time planning, had to be adjusted in preparation for the rain. That just shows what an amazing planner Ashley is, that she managed to turn everything around in the best way possible, and make sure I wasn't aware of the stressful situations going on.
All that being said, if you're looking for a wedding planner, look no further than Ashley Nix:)
I saw another reviewer say that choosing Ashley as their wedding planner was the second best decision they made, besides saying yes to their fiancé - and I couldn’t agree more! Fro...
m my very first conversation with her, I knew that not only did she have incredible attention to detail, amazing experience and vision, but she cared about our relationship and story. She was the only wedding planner I talked to during the vetting process who asked how we met and about our relationship. I truly felt like she cared about me and our love story.
Over the last five months - Ashley has done so much for me. From handling tough compromises with family members on different aspects of our wedding, to providing quick feedback and answers to questions or concerns, to sitting in on vendor conversations, to budgeting and vendor negotiations. She even sat with me for two hours on a weekend to map out what the lounge area for our cocktail reception would look like to make sure that we could stay within budget for rentals without compromising vision or function. If there was something that I was working on, she would often reach out to me and say “hey let me take that on” or “I can help with that”.
For those brides who are feeling overwhelmed with all that they have to do, Ashley brings a very practical and manageable framework to tackling both the big and small items of event planning. She also brings with her a large Rolodex of vendors that she’s previously worked with, and they’ve all been fabulous so far. She is extremely organized and thorough, so you can take a step back and not overwhelm yourself with all the small details.
Aside from all of that, Ashley is just an amazing person. She brings professionalism and levity, vision and experience to everything she does. I feel like I’m talking to a friend that I’ve known for years whenever we talk. Ashley just gets me. I feel so comfortable and confident with her by my side, and that’s allowed me to stay calm and focused throughout the marriage prep process.
I could not recommend Ashely more to any brides who are looking for wedding or event planning support - at any level!

ight event planner. She planned an absolutely fabulous five star wedding in Brazos hall. From the haute couture designs in hall settings to a phenomenal rocking band. She has already planned many weddings and events from having two sisters get hitched in the town. Ash is extremely tasteful for all styles and she is exactly who everyone thinks of when who is the go to gal for wedding tips and advice. She helps all of her friends and family members. There is no higher compliment than that in the event world. We all use her for any gathering.
