Astraea Bridal is a gown boutique that specializes in bridal consignment, samples and formalwear. Located in beautiful downtown Mount Vernon, WA, Astraea boasts an extensive inventory of recycled wedding gowns and bridal accessories. The bridal gowns range from sizes 2-28 with a price point of $1200-$3,000 as well as online liquidation shop with a price point of $300-$1100. Astraea's pricing is determined based on a variety of factors and are priced between 20%-60% off retail price. Their inventory is acquired through the local community who consigns privately owned gowns as well as designer boutiques who consign their discontinued samples. Every gown is carefully inspected for quality, and spot cleaned before placed on the showroom floor.
Astraea Bridal has three types of bridal appointments, the classic Bridal Appointment, an Extended Bridal Appointment and a Liquidation Bridal appointment. Head over to their website to see appointment descriptions and choose the appointment that's best for you.
Astraea Bridal also carries bridesmaid, Mother of the Bride/Groom, holiday party, prom homecoming and Military ball dresses. Walk-ins are welcome to shop for non bridal, special occasion dresses.

By the end, I basically had my dress picked out but came back the following week so I could sleep on it. Outside of just trying on the dresses, everyone in the shop was extraordinarily nice and happy to be there. They were friendly and receptive to feedback. The shop itself was clean, comfortable, and very cute which made for a fun experience. I’m also a big fan of what the shop sells: consigned dresses or dresses from brands that were out of season etc and would’ve been used in a less sustainable way. Additionally, they have a HUGE and size inclusive selection. Overall, I loved my experience at Astraea Bridal and will be recommending to anyone who will listen.

They made myself and my guests feel so welcome, provided the right guidance and advice (including where and how to get it altered to fit), and made me feel safe in an experience that was fun but also a little bit personally stressful. I ended up going back months later and purchasing the veil I had tried on with my dress, too, because I was lucky enough it hadn't sold yet and their prices and selection were just the best. a bridal boutique in Whatcom county, I was feeling a little defeated, and a little nervous that I was just going to have to settle for a wedding dress that wasn’t me. But then I remembered driving by Astraea a few days before and decided to give them a call and see if they might have what I was looking for. I talked to Laura for a minute and she told me she DID have what I was looking for and to come right in. What Laura didn’t say, is that she is a mind reader and knew exactly what I was looking for. Not only did she have the dress I had been hoping to find (literally pinned on my Pinterest 3 times) but she also pulled more than 10 other stunning dresses that were so gorgeous and made me feel so beautiful that I spent 2 hours going back and forth trying to decide because I loved them so much. They fully buttoned up each dress and even took photos, all while making me laugh and consider items I would not have normally (shopping makes me nervous- especially dresses). They even have a seamstress partnership that they set me up with including alterations notes and they are considerate of the environment and making sustainable sourcing choices for inventory and packaging. Laura was great at helping me really think through what I did or didn't like in each dress so she could adjust dress selections as needed. She also knew the story of each dress and how it came to be in their consignment shop, which showed me how much care and attention they give their dresses. By the end of my appointment, I had picked a wedding dress and they were sending alteration information to the seamstress they work with, so I didn't even need to do that part!

Unlike many brides who are young, excitable, and traveling with an entourage, I was more laid back and quiet and Laura soon picked up on this to match my energy. Even though there was a decent selection of styles and inclusive sizes she even worked to get in some more dresses that she thought I would like! The store obviously has been cared for and studied deeply with only the highest quality dresses, lighting, staging areas, and fitting rooms. Every single dress I tried on was beautiful - but ultimately we found the one that had the edge, and Leslie helped find the perfect alternative veil for it, since I did not like the formality of the traditional veils.
