Throughout the planning process, DJ Danny encouraged us to think through music and moments we’ve loved at events in the past and was incredibly thoughtful as we shared songs we definitely wanted and didn’t want to hear at our own wedding. He also helped us navigate fun ideas we wanted to include, like a photo dash on the dance floor, and executed everything perfectly. His clear communication and attention to detail made the entire process feel easy and stress-free.
DJ Danny handled the music and MCing for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and everything flowed seamlessly. During the reception, he did an excellent job reading the room and selecting songs that kept our guests having fun, dancing, and singing along. He created a high-energy atmosphere that felt perfectly tailored to us as a couple. The vibe was exactly what we wanted from start to finish.
We truly loved working with DJ Danny and would not change a single thing about the music at our wedding. We recommend him without hesitation. He’s the best!

so big she could barely contain herself, and we finally exhaled. It felt like the night opened up from there, and Larry D from Astro Event Company helped carry that energy forward in ways that felt thoughtful and personal.
What stayed with us was not just the music itself. It was the way Larry showed up for the day. He carried himself with a calm and incredibly kind confidence that made it easy to relax and actually be part of the celebration. He checked in quietly, kept things moving at a steady pace, and handled transitions in a way that supported the moment instead of pulling focus from it. He felt like someone who was genuinely looking out for us so we could stay present on our big day.
He worked in several songs that have personal meaning to us, even ones that were not part of Astro’s usual catalogue, and blended them into the night like they belonged there. When people started dancing, the room felt alive. When things slowed down, the music gave everyone space to breathe and reconnect.
Including our daughter was something we really appreciated. She wanted her own moment during the reception to thank our family for being present, and he gave her the microphone when she asked and encouraged her in a way that made her feel confident and proud to speak. The younger kids danced all night once the floor opened and had a wonderful time, which meant a lot to us and their parents.
We put a lot of intention into how we handle waste in our daily lives, so we set up a way to compost the food scraps from the reception instead of sending them to a landfill. Larry helped bring guests into that effort with kindness, clarity, and sincerity. It felt like the night honored not just our marriage, but the values and way we hope to move through the world together.
By the end of the evening, we felt like the wedding reflected who we are as a family. Larry’s attitude, care, and enthusiasm were a big part of that. We have heard from multiple guests how much they appreciated his presence and how seamlessly the night flowed. It’s hard to imagine the evening without him.

ive a recommendation from our wedding venue, Norfolk Botanical Gardens, for an incredibly talented rentals team, Astro Event Company, who exceeded our every expectation! We interacted with a few different team members from Astro Event Company, and what struck us most about their team was their ability to capture, transform and bring to life the ideas we had for the vision of our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception without missing a beat. Their attention to detail and artistic eye brought out the smallest, most tender moments that may have otherwise been overlooked. We received so many compliments about the beautiful set up that was completed by the Astro Event Company team! It’s over a month and a half later and our guests haven’t stopped raving about how beautiful the entire night was!
We also used Astro Event Company for their incredibly talented DJ service. After a few different interviews with different DJ’s, we met DJ Larry Dotterer, who exceeded our every expectation! What struck us most about DJ Larry was his dedication to making sure we were going to have the most upbeat, fun filled wedding day!
The Astro Event Company team are not only masters in creation, but they are also true professionals. They arrived on time, maintained a friendly and approachable demeanor, and made every small detail look perfect. The level of communication provided by the Astro Event Company team is impeccable as they were always willing to answer an email or call whenever we had a question, so we knew we were in good hands the day of the wedding. They were also true champions to set up many different rentals - chairs, tables, lighting and dance floor (to name a few) throughout an outdoor wedding rehearsal and day, on July 11th and 12th, in Virginia! The Astro Event Company team provided many different ideas and suggestions to make sure we could bring our vision to life in the best and most efficient way possible while staying within budget. They asked an abundance of great questions throughout the process to get a feel for what were our absolute “must haves” and even suggested some things we hadn’t thought of.
DJ Larry was not only a master behind the turntable, but also a true professional. He arrived on time, maintained a friendly and approachable demeanor, and made us feel truly at ease throughout the whole day! His level of communication is impeccable as he was always willing to answer a text, email or call whenever we had a question, so we knew we were in good hands the day of the wedding. He was a champion throughout our outdoor wedding, on July 12th, in Virginia! He suggested many helpful tips as we were working to make our wedding playlist! During the reception, he played great music and kept the dance floor packed the whole night. He knew when to shift the music selection from slow to fast, old to new, and even played some Greek music we asked for! We’ve had several guests mention to us, when talking about the wedding, how good the music selection was and how much fun they had! We owe a lot to DJ Larry! He was a great MC - the flow of events (intros, first dance, cake cutting, and reminders about the audio guest book and photo booths) went so smoothly!

Day of, Freddy was on site early and had everything run smoothly for the ceremony and cocktail hour where he provided mics and music. We used Astro for our wedding planner (Pari), DJ Freddy, transportation ( big beautiful SUVs), linen and dishware rentals, and Photo Booth. It was so convenient to have all that in one location. ision for our wedding and then made it 10 times better! Music is so important to me, and I worked on a couple of playlists for several months, mostly for “ideas and inspiration”. DJ Valente flawlessly executed the processional songs, recessional, and flowed right into cocktail hour. He had timings on point for the grand entrance (with 17 wedding party members!) and I also requested certain timings for our first dances - everything went so smoothly. Valente was on point the entire night and created the best vibes for our wedding that I will always cherish! We also received so many compliments on how fun the night was - thanks to the best DJ! We hope to catch DJ Valente out around the VA beach area for a karaoke night soon, thank you!!

y questions we might have had. Our assigned DJ was Freddy. We were assigned to him about a week before the wedding, and he was an absolute joy to work with. During our initial meeting, it was easy to tell he is passionate about DJing and providing the best experience for his clients. He listened to our worries and even created a special mix for my husband’s mother/son dance that was very special to them. Our friends and family have told us how fun our wedding was, and we know that’s certainly in part to Freddy’s skill and craft with his DJing and being able to read the room around what type of music to play. My only issue with using Astro was some of the communication with Lane. She was quick to schedule an initial phone call and get me the DJ quote but we were wanting to get some draping done for our reception. It took almost a month and 2 follow up emails with her to get the quote for the draping. I had put off getting quotes from other vendors because Lane was familiar with our venue and we would have loved to keep things with the least amount of vendors possible. By the time we got the quote, it was too late for us to get quotes from other vendors because it was too close to our date.

ation to making sure my day went perfectly. Danny went above and beyond by surprising me with painting his entire DJ set up from black to white, so that it matched my wedding aesthetic. This was so meaningful because I am a photographers daughter, and the white set up really blended into the rest of the delicate decor, not only in person but in photos. Danny made sure that every single detail was perfect. After our first dance, he invited all of the guests onto the dance floor for a slow dance, and after that he started playing the best dance music to make sure everyone was having a great time. There wasnt an empty dance floor at all until we had to shut down the night. This wedding was incredibly special and fun, and it wouldn't have been the same with out Danny's care and attention to detail.

He took the time to get to know us, took pride in what he did, and truly made all efforts to have our vision for the day come to life (and not only behind the dj booth). He helped move chairs, he helped our photographer, florist, caterer, you name it… he was there to lend a helping hand. Our main/only request was to just do his thing and keep the dance floor going. oked a day-of coordinator, a DJ, and uplighting through the company. Richard was the life of the party! He was funny, enthusiastic, and professional. He was right on cue with all requested music and had everyone dancing the entire night. Sara was also very hard-working. Along with her assistant, she made sure everything was set up and taken down perfectly on our special day! She was very accommodating and easy to communicate with via email. ne, but she kicked it into *high-gear* as soon as I passed along my (very-detailed) plans to her 30 days before the wedding. She totally got my vision and anticipated all the little things I would have never thought of. The major moment that she saved the day though was when our charter bus company that was taking everyone from the hotel in Virginia Beach to the Hermitage in Norfolk CANCELED 2 day before the wedding! She and the entire Astro team made it their mission to find us a bus company to replace them, even though everyone was booked. And magically - the DID! Not only did they find a better, nicer bus company, it was cheaper too than the original. I truly don’t know how they found it, but I can say they literally saved our wedding day!
From there, when I say the wedding day went off without a hitch - I truly mean it. It was perfect. Pari made sure everything went off effortlessly and allowed the momentum to flow beautifully from a perfectly orchestrated romantic wedding ceremony through to a *rager* of a reception by the end of the night. We have so much to thank her for! 100 out of 10 :D
Speaking of the rager of a reception - DJ VALENTE absolutely brought it. He perfectly timed the music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and *everyone* was talking about how great the DJ was! He was so personable, hilarious, and genuine, and he set the vibe perfectly at every point of the day. He also played every song we asked for that was important to us (and none of those we didnt!), and blended songs in between that went with that vibe while really getting people on the dance floor.
We are so beyond grateful to Valente, Pari, and the whole Astro team. Our wedding truly would not have been the amazing day it was without them - for us and for every single one of our guests. Thank you times infinity Pari, Valente, & the whole Astro team!

school events. Their DJs are always professional and do an excellent job with managing music for a wide range of ages. Our favorite DJ is Richard Davis. He was the DJ for our daughter’s 13th birthday party, 8th grade class celebration, and her Sweet 16 celebration. She only wanted Richard for her wedding, and he did not disappoint. He kept the crowd dancing throughout the evening and helped to manage the crowd for the cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc. The photo booth wasn’t part of our original plan, but it turned into a fun part of the evening. Guests enjoyed taking photos and making videos. They walked away with a set of prints formatted specifically for the wedding and the newlyweds will receive all the photos and videos in the coming weeks. Dawson was professional and managed some individuals and groups with calm and grace. Chassie was our “Day Of” planner. She worked with us to manage details in the weeks leading up to the wedding. On the day of the wedding, she and Shay made sure vendors arrived on time; that they brought all the contracted items; and that they completed their set up. They also worked with the wedding party, the venue, and the photographer to keep the flow moving and the timeline in order. We weren’t sure about contracting for a planner in the beginning, but we are so glad we did. The peace of mind it provided allowed us to enjoy the day with the bride and groom and wedding party. We rented up-lighting, pipe and drape backdrops and acrylic easels for a reasonable cost that looked beautiful. The Astro management team worked with us through two postponements due to Covid. They were helpful and flexible as we tweaked our plans each time. Until next time!
