Athabold Flowers

d have been happy with fewer flowers than I realized, and for couples looking to cut costs (which we were but weren't sure how best to do so!) I'd nix some of the ceremony installation and the table-end flowers. Photos by Olivia Nadel.

r than we ever imagined. She was also SO lovely to work with, and incredibly professional and buttoned-up, which left us knowing we were in great hands. THANK YOU, Athabold!

rocess was unparalleled and so instrumental in helping to keep me sane throughout the planning process. I loved how we had a floral trial to both see our vision come to life before our wedding and make some last minute changes. This was an added bonus! If you’re looking for the best florist in the Hudson Valley, look no further!

d with what I wanted and she was extremely flexible and understanding. The finished flowers were even better than I could’ve imagined. Almost 2 months later and I still have friends/family reaching out to me about how beautiful our flowers/decor were. I would use Shuheng/Athabold a million times over!!!

with the outcome. From our super thorough introductory call, to receiving a beautiful and detailed proposal, to an in-person sample meeting in her studio, to flawless execution the day of our wedding, I was so happy we chose to work with Athabold.

and Shuheng worked with us to execute our vision! We went through a few rounds of changes and Shuheng was very professional and patient with us through it all. We went up for a sample meeting at her studio and she took all of our feedback and adjusted to make sure we were happy! Highly recommend hiring the Athabold team for your wedding!

fter an introductory call, she sent a beautiful, detailed proposal and also had us visit her studio to see a mockup of the table florals. I am not a flower expert, yet she knew exactly what I was looking for and put it together perfectly. The mockup was amazing, and yet the day of was even more beautiful than we imagined! Every detail was perfect, from the floral arch to my bouquet and even the tiny bud vases on the cocktail tables. You should absolutely work with Athabold!

ing. Our flowers were better than I could have imagined!! I would recommend her work for anyone in the area. Thank you, Shuheng and Athabold team!!

t the same time we wanted florals that made a nod to tradition. We were having a Hindu marriage ceremony which required a Mandap (four pillar structure) with florals and fabric decorating it. Our venue had a large statement wall where we wanted a foraged, nature-inspired, autumn-themed art installation, and with an eye towards conservation, we wanted to reuse florals from one even to another. Shuheng is just an incredibly talented, caring, attentive person who as a vendor embodies all these qualities as well. She listened closely to all we had to say and then put together a vision book for us with a prospectus and a vision board incorporating colors, specific florals, leaves, branches and trees in different moments that would coordinate with the seasonal outdoor venue. It was really impressive. As the day approached, she put together an in-person staging for us to better visualize the colors, fabrics, florals and light (we used a lot of glowy candles) together in one space. It was beautiful, but nothing compared to the day-of. The mandap looked like something out of a magical or mythical story. The natural beauty of the setting was never diminished by decor, but complemented and amplified. Shuheng decorated the Mandap so that light would come through in dappled pools, and allowed for the fabric the blow in the breeze - she created movement, not just a structure frozen for the pictures. The look and feel of your wedding is undoubtedly critical - working with Shuheng to create our event’s not just look, but feel, was the best decision we made.

ptured the vibe we were going for (romantic, lush, dreamy elegance) in everything she created, from the gorgeous bouquets, boutonnière, corsages and flower crown, to the exquisitely decorated chuppah and striking aisle arrangements for the ceremony, to the bud vase arrangements and votive candles at cocktail hour, to the larger centerpieces and taper candles at the reception. She created some dreamy lush green moments with the greenery wrapped around the staircase and on the entryway mirror. She also decorated our wedding cake beautifully with flowers and provided the perfect flowers for my photographer for the flat lay shots. Truly, everything was just picture perfect. Shuheng is not only a floral genius, she is also an exceptionally lovely person. She made suggestions in a thoughtful way, working with us patiently to help us refine our vision down to the smallest detail. Perhaps most helpful of all, she created a “mockup” of many of the arrangements in her studio a few months before the wedding! Shuheng’s artistry and professionalism are unparalleled. Look no further than Athabold Florist!

(and only) choice! Every interaction with the team was flawless - Shuheng understood my vision completely, even after I pivoted away from my initial floral vibe. All emails were answered so promptly and professionally, and on wedding day the delivery and set up went off without a hitch. The cherry on top of it all, though, is Shuheng and team’s creativity and eye for florals. The beauty of their design made all the difference at our wedding and I cannot recommend enough!

gements for the bridal party, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were beyond our expectations (which were high!), and they took our breath away. The guests were in awe and gushed about the setting and your artful celebration of it. I recommend you to the next MOB and bride, 100%! You delivered romance and sophistication. The beauty you created will live on in our memories, photos and videos!

target dates for recap and updates. The Athabold team was also able to pickup candles we wanted for the decor to compliment the arrangements we had asked for, which made our own transporting of wedding favors and last minute items that much easier. The team had no hiccups setting up and breaking down. We did this without a wedding planner, so I can't believe how effortless this was. It goes without saying the arrangements and flowers themselves were absolutely stunning. Muted tones to compliment the already green landscape was a nice accent to the day - nothing too loud but the detail and design was nothing short of amazing.

wel-toned floral theme, she promptly responded with a proposal that included images of previous designed that totally articulated my vision but also layered on Shuheng’s professional advice on balance of color and size of our florals and accompanying candles. She was extremely accommodating on staying within our budget and offered alternative options on some of the larger pieces such as ceremony florals which I greatly appreciated. My mom and I took a trip up to Germantown to Shuheng’s studio to look at a mockup of a round table centerpiece, rectangular table centerpiece, and my bouquet and it was even more beautiful than I imagined. On the day of our wedding when I saw the flowers the first thing I said was “these are perfect” and I meant it - thank you Shuheng + team Athabold !

e many floral ideas we had in mind for our wedding day. She's a true artist that was so easy to work with, I would recommend her to anyone looking for a florist in the hudson valley.

LD. Shuheng really listened to what I was envisioning for my wedding day and she went above and beyond to execute. I loved how she had a walk through appointment in her studio before the big day so we could make any necessary adjustments. Although, she nailed it on the head and there was not much to change!! All in all, everything was perfect!

fun to work with, understood my vision and worked to bring it all to life with incredible detail. My guests are still commenting on how extraordinarily beautiful and vibrant our flowers were. The flowers really seemed like they were picked that morning - they were so sturdy and fresh and the florals looked completely alive all day and night. The chuppah set up was perfect, and the men's boutonnieres were vibrant and lovely. I can't say enough about how incredible our wedding florals were, seeing them pop in our pictures is a joy!

their vision to life. ATHABOLD was a pleasure to work with and we cannot wait to work with them again!

t to the wedding for both the ceremony, reception, and cocktail hour. To this day, our guests are still raving about how beautiful the flowers were 😀 They designed and delivered our centerpieces (including flowers + candles), a decorated chuppah (Athabold provided the chuppah which was great for us), large floral displays that we could move around throughout the ceremony and reception, a petal toss cart + petals in paper cones for the ceremony, bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, and a floral piece to decorate the wedding cake. Everything was done tastefully and in the color scheme and style we liked! We especially appreciated the sample design session a couple months before the wedding where we visited Shuheng at the Athabold office to review the sample flower arrangements and designs she had put together. She took copious notes on all the feedback we gave and the end result was exactly what we discussed. As a bonus we got to take home some of the flowers she created! She was incredibly easy to work with and really understood our vision and direction of the flower palette and overall aesthetic of our wedding. Highly recommend going with Athabold for your floral and wedding design! You will not regret it!

or them to consider it (it was a little over a 1 year prior to wedding), which ultimately knocked them out of the running. We booked Shuheng and she brought us in 1 year prior to the wedding so that we could try arrangements out and use flowers that are in bloom during the month of our wedding, which we loved and appreciated. From that point on until the wedding, it was smooth sailing and the flowers were absolutely gorgeous day-of. It was a one-stop-shop too, as they provided candles and votives for every table and they were absolutely gorgeous.

dding, my bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, etc, we delivered on time to our hotel suite. I was so wrapped up in getting ready that I forgot to touch base with the florist at all that day. But I didn't even have to! They knew exactly what they were doing and didn't need anyone reminding or keeping track of deliveries. That is what you want on your wedding day. We knew we could trust Athabold all the way! Not to mention the flowers were more beautiful than we imagined. I loved my bouquet so much, and our tables looked amazing with white flowers and black taper candles. The best!!

ouquets elevated the whole day. Best Florist Ever!

d wanted to take them home!)...and we couldn't agree more. Shuheng and her team created a floral fairytale for our wedding. We were able to preview the arrangement mock ups beforehand, but on our actual day, the whole scene was breathtaking. Shuheng created beautiful florals from a very simple vision we had-she's wonderful! We are so grateful from the bottom of our hearts for a truly unforgettable day!

erfectly, and they had everything well setup and ready to go in advance of the wedding. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

ision that we wanted to achieve, so our florist was very important to us... and Shuheng was all that and more! She listened patiently while I attempted to describe a specific yet vague picture I had in my head, and also kindly worked with me when I changed my mind. On the day of the wedding, we were so thrilled with the final result! Her flower arrangements were absolutely beautiful and captured exactly what we wanted for our special day. Many of our guests ended up taking the blooms home because they were so beautifully arranged! Her professionalism throughout the preparation process helped us to feel totally comfortable and confident, and we knew that she would deliver something everyone would love. From beginning to end / prep to break down, Shuheng and her team were awesome, and we would absolutely recommend Athabold for anyone's wedding.

er and made it the most beautiful focal point of our reception. Thank you very much!!!!

ost exciting and best proposal after an initial email, incorporating ideas and images I had sent her way as a reference, and I could tell from that alone that Shuheng puts a lot of care and attention into her work. I really loved and appreciated the sample design meeting, where we got to see how the arrangements would look on the table, and it was amazing to see her nail what we had wanted. Over the months leading up to the wedding, I just grew increasing in awe of Shuheng's work. The Athabold team really did an amazing job on the florals, booking them was easily one of the best decisions we made.

w months before the wedding and she created a mock-up of our wedding flowers. Shuheng truly understood my modern/chic/minimalistic vision and I trusted her with everything coming to life. She made florals once less thing I had to stress about :) I cannot recommend her enough! Thank you so much for everything! Love, The Masts

posal that exactly captured what I wanted. Set up a sample table for us a few months before the day and recreated it to a "T" at the wedding itself! We had one organizational hiccup - we used their chuppah and had agreed that Athabold would provide a cloth to act as our tallit, which somehow didn't make it to the venue. We used a scarf I had brought with me instead, which worked out just fine as long as you didn't look too closely! We had them make flower bracelets for the women in my family instead of bouquets, since we didn't have a wedding party, and they were beautiful arrangements of dried flowers. Unfortunately a few started to come apart partway through the event, but perhaps just because we all danced so hard??

back with a proposal and some samples and executed it perfectly day of. Shuheng and team were great - Highly recommend!!

preciated. 10/10 recommend!! Our caterer and venue both said the flowers and table arrangements were the prettiest they've seen all season.

on and she sent back a proposal with all of my ideas incorporated - I was blown away. She’s also very reasonably priced which was not easy to find when I started looking for vendors. On my showroom visit to see what the the tablescapes would look like for the wedding she nailed exactly what I was looking for. The final execution on my wedding day was gorgeous. I couldn’t have asked for asked for more perfect florals. I’m currently drying out my wedding bouquet I loved it so much. Thank you Shuheng!

essages about how we had the most beautiful wedding flowers they have ever seen, both classically elegant and creative / original. She really listened to our vision and absolutely nailed it, going above and beyond to make the space even more beautiful than we could have imagined. She was flexible to our asks but also made sure we leveraged her expertise! Could not recommend Athabold more.

re else! Shuheng is such a sweet person and so great to work with. She really made me excited about my vision for the flowers at my wedding and she clearly has a special talent for figuring out exactly what kind of vibe her clients want. We got so many compliments on the flowers on our wedding day! I also really enjoyed going to her shop in Germantown— it’s adorable and I will definitely be making a special trip there in the future. Thank you Athabold!!!

rching florists for my smallish wedding. While many other florists I reached out to had high minimums that wouldn’t work for my small sized event, I was met with Shuheng who was gracious and sweet and welcoming to me even though I didn’t need florals for a large wedding. As a client she made me feel important and just as much of a priority as if I was ordering florals for a 100+ person event. After a brief phone call I knew that Shuheng understood my vision. She sent over a mood board and I immediately booked her. Shuheng and I communicated via email back and forth (she is so patient) for many months and met in person for a design meeting, which was so helpful. Again, the fact that this is even offered as part of the package is incredible! I was hoping my florals would be romantic, whimsical, textured and wanted my dinner tables to feel like a fantastic garden party. The florals were everything I could have hoped for and more. They were gorgeous. Shuheng even tossed in some surprises with a couple of flowers that I had mentioned liking in passing but didn’t know would be in the arrangements. And to top it all off, since my wedding took place at an Airbnb not far from Athabold’s shop, Shuheng allowed me to keep my arrangements for 3 days after the wedding to enjoy them as long as possible. I was meant to drop off the vessels at her shop but she ended up sending someone from her team to come pick them up from me. Just amazing customer service all around and such beautiful flowers. They really helped bring my wedding to life and I’m so grateful I found Shuheng and Athabold!

s to Shuheng through my wedding planner, and she understood my vision perfectly and put together the most beautiful mood board for me. I was immediately sold! On my wedding day, Athabold made the most beautiful deconstructed arch, aisle arrangements that looked like they were growing out of the ground, gorgeous, full table centerpieces, and most importantly, my dream bouquet! I got so many compliments on the flowers, and some said it looked like something out of a fairy tale. Athabold, thank you for making my wedding flower dreams come true!

r wedding are of the flowers). Not only is everything that Shuheng creates beautiful, but she is also incredibly easy to work with. She adjusted to make sure we got exactly what we needed and offered great advice when we weren't sure how something would look, all while staying within our budget. Highly recommend!!

und the right florist for me and my now husband. I was instantly blown away by her natural, romantic, and cohesive designs; not to mention her kind and patient demeanor. I also loved that she worked with a variety of flowers and color tones. Her portfolio is extremely diverse! When Shuheng and I initially spoke about the floral design for the wedding day, I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted. I showed her a picture of a bouquet that I had found on pinterest, and it essentially became the jumping off point for the design. Over the next several months, we must have spoken four to five times, once including an in-person visit to her studio where she showed me two centerpiece mock-ups (they were gorgeous!!). As the design continued to evolve, Shuheng was so patient and understanding, and she always gave me her honest feedback. In the end, we landed on a whimsical, garden-inspired design with rich fall tones to complement our mid-November wedding date. We also added fun textural elements throughout the space to balance out the design, while not overwhelming the gorgeous industrial venue. On the day of the wedding, I was absolutely blow away! I knew everything was going to be beautiful, but it was so much more than I ever could have imagined. Believe me when I say this – Athabold Flowers is the absolute best! If you are looking for a florist with a personal and unique style, look no further. Thank you Shuheng and team for everything you did to make our wedding day so special :)

get. We did a mockup meeting a few weeks before our wedding which was great and gave us a chance to see the actual flowers she was planning on using and make adjustments. Shuheng was super helpful and worked with us to make some tweaks to ensure our flowers were perfect. Shuheng was also able to deliver a wide arrange of looks for our day – from gorgeous bouqets to a variety of centerpieces ranging from candles and greenery to stunning arrangements to high “tree” arrangements to deliver the look we were after. Shuheng also proactively worked with the venue to come up with a rain plan given the weather forecast was not looking good on our wedding day. Everything ended up being fine but it was comforting to know there was a plan and that we were in safe hands at what was a pretty stressful time.

beautiful and her team really delivered. She was great at providing something that was both unique and gorgeous while being very respectful of our budget. She didn't feel like a vendor, she felt like a true collaborator. Her ability to listen and understand our vision is something I admired deeply while working with her. I truly can't say enough positive things about Shuheng. If you are considering hiring her, do it!

so the Athabold storefront in Germantown is irresistible. Such a lovely place to stop and a lovely person to work with. Thank you for adding some lovely bright florals to our special weekend!!

sh for the entire day. Shuheng is a pleasure to work with- she responded to all of my requests and emails immediately (and accommodated the last minute changes I requested the week of our wedding without a hitch), and staged tables for us in her studio so we could view her work. My bouquet was exactly what I had in mind- Shuheng is able to take your ideas and bring them to life in the most beautiful way. I highly recommend Athabold for a wedding or any event!
