Athan's European Bakery

I have very mixed feelings about my experience with Athan's, which I think are best summarized by what become a catch phrase of sorts regarding my experience: "He's hell to work with -- why does he have to make such an amazing cake??" Quality-wise, Athan's is top-notch. My engaged guests were asking me for the bakery for their own weddings. I couldn't have chosen any other cake for my wedding. That said, Aris is not easy to get in touch with. He doesn't respond well by email, and he rushes you off the phone. He also never ended up sending me a receipt for my cash payment for the cake, but accidentally sent it to my venue instead. Everything worked out fine, but he was hands down the most difficult of my vendors to work with. If you can be patient and active about getting information from Aris, his cakes are totally worth it. Despite my difficulty with his responsiveness, I would still recommend him, and I would never change the bakery that I used.
