August Sage and Violet

Rhonda worked with my husband and I to create the perfect combination of traditional and exotic flowers to fit our urban winery wedding at Brooklyn Winery. She listened to my hopes of having tons of greenery (both on the tables and hanging from the string lights) as well as a long hanging bouquet and limited colors (besides white) in all of the floral arrangements. She also made some beautiful succulent boutonnieres for the groomsmen. She graciously did an on-site consultation so I could walk her through every detail, and she offered advice (having worked at the venue previously). She's so talented and knows how to make use of all spaces. Additionally, the day of the wedding, she informed us that the garland might not make it for our table arrangements due to a hurricane that hit the city a few days before. She personally drove out to meet the vendor to get the garland for the tables to ensure we had our perfect vision completed. She has true dedication! A delight to work with!

Rhonda has been so wonderful and didn’t require much to understand what we wanted and do it within our budget. All our guest said how wonderful the flowers were and couldn’t wait to grab them all when leaving. Our wedding was a fall Halloween wedding and the flowers were moody and elegant with a rustic natural beauty that really was the focal point of our event. Thank you Domenic & Michelle

Rhonda is amazing!! I honestly don't know much about flowers, and during our initial phone call, I had a jumbled mess of thoughts about what I was looking for. I'm in awe at Rhonda's ability to see your vision even when you can't fully describe it, and bring it to life more beautifully than you could imagine! The venue looked absolutely breathtaking, and it's all thanks to Rhonda and her team!

Rhonda and her team were absolutely amazing! The flowers for our ceremony and reception were absolutely stunning. I had a hard time describing my "vision" and yet she captured it perfectly. The price was very reasonable and she was wonderful to work with. Our guests raved about the flowers all night long. Highly recommend!

I can't say enough great things about Rhonda from August Sage and Violet! She was a pleasure to work with, extremely knowledgeable, and of course very talented. We did not have a huge budget to work with for our flowers, and she made me feel extremely confident that we could make it work. And everything looked better than I could have imagined!! She not only did flowers but was able to help round out the mood with votive candles and greenery. I was also extremely stressed about what to do with breakdown at the end of the evening, and she and her team took care of that as well. Overall, our experience with Rhonda was great and I would recommend her to everyone!

It still blows my mind that Rhonda and her team at August Sage and Violet were able to completely capture what I wanted with just a few concept photos. She completely "got" the whole mood we we're trying to set, and made it happen while barely asking a question along the way. Somehow she just knew exactly what to do. On our wedding day, we were BLOWN AWAY by how gorgeous everything was. She went above and beyond to help us achieve the aesthetic we were looking for, and the moody, stunning florals were the centerpiece of our wedding. The whole evening was candlelit with brass candelabras, and it was the most romantic place I'd ever set food in by the time August Sage and Violet was done with it. Rhonda, thank you for making everything so easy, and for everything you did to pull off the most beautiful day of our lives. Would highly recommend to any bride looking for a florist with an unmatched attention to detail.

Rhonda and the whole team at August Sage and Violet are true artists and artisans at the peak of their craft, and we could not have chosen a more perfect floral team for our fall wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. We knew from the beginning that a well-crafted vision for the floral arrangements would be instrumental in the naturalistic, fall-palette, upscale-rustic ambience we wanted, so Rhonda’s vision fit in perfectly. When we discussed this plan with her, she understood it and resonated with it very quickly, and she created a beautiful and detailed proposal that served as our aesthetic and color inspiration for the rest of the design and planning process. From there, there was no micromanaging needed, and the team didn’t require any more input than what we wanted to give. Equally wonderful and professional at the back end of the planning process, she came to the venue for a walkthrough, and was even able to accommodate several last minute requests and changes we made. We feel the AS&V team’s exceptional artistic work speaks for itself, but equally important, they were professional, communicative, and very easy to work with throughout the whole process. Overall, we’ll always remember the breathtakingly beautiful floral arrangements, and the love and passion for the work that was clearly evident in the finished product!

Rhonda is phenomenally talented, organized, and easy to work with. Who could ask for more than that? At our wedding, a guest remarked that she "knew flowers were beautiful, but had never realized that flowers could be so incredibly beautiful before our wedding." This really sums up the arrangements that Rhonda and her team put together for us, and we are so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with her. Rhonda works with seasonal, local flowers, which made us feel like we had made more sustainable choices, which also really helped. I often worry about the carbon footprint of a wedding, and keeping everything local helped us feel confident that we were lessening our impact. Our venue was small and decor was minimal, so it was essential that the flowers be stunning, and they were. At present, I'm sitting at my table, two days after my wedding, gazing at the still-fresh arrangement I took home, as well as the blooms from my (now cut-open) bouquet, which are thriving in water (alas, the greens only lasted the night, as is to be expected). I used this florist without question after seeing the arrangements she made for a friend's wedding. However, our arrangements couldn't have been more different than what my friend used, and were equally stunning. It shows the range and flexibility which only true artists possess. Finally, what an amazing touch to put MINT in a bridal bouquet! It looked and smelled amazing.

Walking into our venue and seeing the greenery from August Sage & Violet was more than I could have ever imagined. It was overwhelmingly beautiful. Thank you Rhonda for bringing my vision to life and for working around our budget! <3 Missy & Marco

Rhonda is unbelievably talented and easy to work with. She created arrangements for our wedding that were deeply romantic, lush, gorgeous and elegant...so much so that our guests kept commenting that they were the most beautiful wedding flowers they had ever seen. Rhonda made this happen with just one in-person meeting and a couple of brief emails. From the get go she made adjustments where needed to fit our budget without sacrificing impact or vision, so there was no back and forth or negotiations needed. I don't think you can go wrong with Rhonda.

Of all of the vendors we worked with when planning our wedding, Rhonda of August, Sage and Violet was hands down the best. Her arrangements were gorgeous, her prices impossible to beat, and her manner was so calm and professional—a welcome relief in a sea of aggressive up-selling. She's the real deal. Rhonda was amazing to work with and our flowers were absolutely stunning! She completely got my vision of romantic yet rustic burgundy and blush/peach, and even went above and beyond adding greenery in the wood beams above our head table. She did beautiful personal bouquets, and these giant lush urns for the ceremony. I love flowers and I am so happy we went with August Sage and Violet because all the floral design really made our venue look amazingly beautiful the day of!
