ur wedding day, she captured every moment so naturally — the big, emotional moments and the tiny, candid details we didn’t even realize were happening. Aura has such an incredible eye for light and composition, and helps give you cues to make poses feel natural.
Not only are we obsessed with the final photos, but she made us feel completely at ease throughout the day. She was organized, calming, and fun to be around — it honestly felt like we had another friend there with us.
We’ve received so many compliments on the photos, and we know we’ll treasure them for the rest of our lives. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer who is insanely talented, kind, and reliable — look no further.

ril & on Fri Jan 3, we emailed to ask when we should expect to start working our timeline with her (HMU were starting to plan their schedules & asking about timelines). After we didn’t get a response for 2 weeks (the fires broke out shortly after), we messaged on Honeybook on Tue Jan 14 & texted on Fri Jan 17; read within 30min, no reply. Texted on Wed Jan 22; said she would send us a questionnaire(which was sent on Wed Jan 28) & Calendly link(didn't get). Followed up via text on Wed Feb 19; she said she had a draft timeline & sent a Calendly link to review. We met Fri Feb 21 to review the timeline & make live updates. We also gave her our shot list (family combos) & some inspo pics (playful, fun, movement, less posed, etc).
After our video chat, she sent an updated timeline based on what we discussed, & we replied (email) with an update that we’d missed. That email never got acknowledged & we ended up scrapping it.
FF to our wedding: our shot-list of family combos specifically listed B&G in ALL family photos (eg we didn't want photos of B&parents w/o G, & vice versa; we find this very strange & we didn't want this for OUR day). But sure enough, one of us was asked to exit the photo. We chalked it up to wedding-day haze, but we felt like what WE wanted was ignored & overshadowed by Aura’s "standard." Perhaps we should have emphasized this in our timeline review; we didn't verbally bring attention to it beforehand, because we assumed it would be reviewed/carried with her on the day.
Our Couples/B&G Portraits (first look, pre-ceremony, sunset, & night-flash) felt stiff & posed, not playful like Aura said was “exactly her style.” & unfortunately, you find yourself just doing what the pros tell you to do; usually waiting for a prompt from your photog. By the time you’re at sunset portraits, you’ve had enough of photos & just want it to be over.
We got our preview album 5d after our wedding, with a note that the full album would be ready in another 6-8wks=7-9wks post-wedding. By Thu wk 9, we texted (since emails go ignored) to ask when we can expect our full album: read within 1hr. Texted again Mon & again Wed wk 10. She explained that May was busier than usual (that she couldn't reply to a text mid-way into Jun?) but said that our gallery would be sent over before the end of the next week (wk 11). Wk 11: no photos nor word on further delays. Texted Wed wk 12: no response. Texted the next day: read within 15min, nothing. We emailed later that day; she replied & apologized for the lack of communication (appreciated) & promised to have our album to us by Sat. We received our album ~9am on Sat wk 12.
We know that life happens, but we do expect proactive communication & (at minimum) to be acknowledged when we reach out. For someone who boasts “over a decade of experience and 250+ weddings captured,” she seems to have very poor basic mgmt skills.
Overall, we are very happy with our photos. Even if they aren’t as playful as we wanted them to be, they are beautiful & we will cherish them forever. We were, however, very disappointed to realize that we never got our siblings photo (with both sets of siblings) from our shot list, as this was one photo that was very important to us.
On her website, Aura promises “an experience that feels effortless and enjoyable,” but we had the exact opposite. It hurts us to say this: despite loving our end product, we would not recommend Aura as a wedding vendor.

hat we thought would be such an awkward experience turned out to be the complete opposite. Aura made sure to walk us through the process, made us feel so relaxed, and gave us very clear directions on how to pose and enjoy the moment. It was actually really cold when we took our engagement photos as well as our sunset photos at our wedding. She was so considerate of that and would stop and have me put on my jacket or shawl on as we would wait for the lighting to change (both were outside) The day of the wedding she came to our getting ready location and when the hair and make up took longer than expected, she graciously took my dress to the venue so that she could get all the detail pictures in and keep everything running smoothly. She did so well getting fun candid shots and getting everyone together for the family pictures. One of my favorite part was when I had snuck away with a few girls to eat some cake and enjoy some quiet time together. She "caught" us and graciously offered to take some pictures and record the moment for us. She is also so quick! She had my engagement photos within the week and previews of my wedding photos the next morning. I highly recommend Aura and wish her the best!

od. We had such high hopes after she sent us a preview after the wedding. However, the final album of wedding photos were pretty disappointing to say the least. The turnaround time was unexpectedly fast, like 10 days, which we felt was a little too fast. We don’t know if she really spent time curating the best photos or just gather up 1000 random pictures and called it a day because the product left much to be desired. While the posed pictures were decent everything else were not very flattering. And some photos were redundant, like did we need more than 2 or 3 photos of shoes, invitation, the bar and picture of a random duck???
We emailed her some weeks after to ask if she or her second photographer happened to have different angles of photos only to have her ghosted us. We followed up with a second email a week after and was ghosted again. She only responded after we texted her and said she will look into our request later because it was her busy season. We totally understand, but that was like almost 6 months ago with no response. We just kind of accepted the situation and agreed that subpar photos were better than no photos at all at this point. We were so disheartened with what was delivered that we didn’t even share the photos with our family or friends. And even now, the only photos we share publicly are ones taken by friends with their iPhones.

We got our previews ridiculously quickly after our wedding, showed them to my in-laws, and they were blown away at just the previews! They said "these alone are worth it!". Not only was Aura all of the above, but her second shooter was also wonderful. Mar shot the boys getting ready and they said she was a blast. Both ladies were an honor to have at the wedding and are both so talented. Communication was clear and efficient. I can't wait to hire Aura for all of life's big moments!

Once we hired her, she was so nice and quickly to respond to all of our emails.
