This was SO fun, as we got to know Austen just as a couple, and had our first look by ourselves. Highly recommend doing this, as this is also a cool collaborative approach to capturing some sweet memories. As you would expect, come the wedding day Austen was fabulous. He was super fun to have around to capture a lot of expected (and unexpected) sweet moments, and was just super easy to be around with our families and friends. He provided direction where needed, but also just blended into the background for the most part to capture the day and observe the activities. His wife, Kylie, was also lovely to work with, and they just made the day feel more official, more exciting, and more magical than we could have ever expected. Even the family portraits and planned activities were a blast, so I only have positive things to say. 15/10 would recommend Austen Diamond Photography. A world class service and human, for sure!

Not only is Austen an extremely talented artist who has a masterful knowledge of composition, light, and color, but he is also incredibly personable, funny, organized, and professional. When we first met him in person on the day of the wedding, interacting with him was so easy it felt like we were already old friends, which is exactly what you want in a person who is recording such an intimate event. On the wedding day, he worked hard to keep the timeline on track and was able to be flexible and roll with the punches when unforeseen schedule changes occurred. I was able to relax and enjoy myself on my wedding day knowing that Austen and the other members of my team were working hard to keep everything flowing seamlessly through the timeline. Prepared for any scenario, Austen also carries a Mary Poppin’s type emergency kit which came in handy several times- notably when the bustle exploded on my dress. Additionally, his wife, Kylie, was his assistant for the event and it was great to have them both on hand to capture the busy day. During the planning stages, Austen provided sample timelines and offered sage advice on how to arrange the schedule for the day. Without his vast experience and knowledge, I would have ordered the events in a much less ideal configuration. He was also easy to get a hold of and was readily available to hop on a call when I had questions or needed advice. My recommendation is to take his advice when it comes to the schedule. Because I did, the transitions were seamless, and I was actually able to attend my own cocktail hour—shocking I know! After the wedding, he delivered preview images within days of the event which were fun to have and share while the memories from the day were fresh. We had an additional photoshoot booked with him after the wedding, and he was willing to be flexible with us on the schedule since the weather forecast was looking dire. This demonstrated that he truly cares about his clients and is passionate about getting the most out of every photoshoot. After this photoshoot, he delivered the rest of our images from both the shoot and our wedding within the week which put us at ~4 weeks post wedding to get all of our images back—incredible! We are currently in the process of selecting images for our fine art album which is very exciting. Austen showed us examples of previous Fine Art albums he’s designed, and they are breathtakingly creative. We can’t wait to have one of our own! Austen’s passion for his work shows. He didn’t take pictures; he captured the moments of the wedding day. While you pour through the beautiful and dynamic images, you feel transported back to the emotions of the day. I really did not anticipate how helpful he would be throughout the entire process - the one thing I would change about our wedding is that I would have taken all of his vendor suggestions. We found our DJ through him and the DJ was incredible. Hair/flowers we found other ways and they were late/disappointing, respectively. Then, on our actual wedding day, Austen somehow filled the coordinator roll, keeping the itinerary on track, while getting thousands of pictures. He somehow kept us genuinely laughing and we enjoyed taking breaks from the event to go spend time together, breathe, and take some pictures. I would have hired Austen again even if the pictures weren't incredible, because that's how helpful he was in the 12 months leading up and day of. I'm not a particularly photogenic person but I will tell you, we got over 800 pictures and favorited 100. Really unbelievable. The other 700 are great too - multiple pictures of every single one of our guests, capturing authentic personalities and reactions to different parts of the event. His wife Kylie was the lighting assistant and she was also great. We got our photos within a few weeks, even though they had gone out of town right after our wedding. Just can't thank them enough!

Although Austen's work is quite impressive and he clearly loves bringing people's dreams to life, it was his humor and easygoing nature that sold us. After our initial video conference, we were as sure about him as we were each other (almost). Additionally, because we enjoy stargazing, we insisted on a photographer who could display the grandeur of the night sky. To this end, Austen did not disappoint. So much so, that we've been (politely) asked if the night sky photos are real...repeatedly! We're over the moon about it. Our wedding was part of a RV road trip with our five teenage kids, where we visited eight National Parks, two National Monuments and concluded with four days in Vegas. Planning our wedding/family vacation was demanding (and spending nine days in a RV with five teens was exacerbating), so it was awesome knowing that we didn't have to worry about which arch was most picturesque, or how crowded a location may be, or if the moon would obscure the stars, or...any of that! Although Austen was just as fun in-person as he had been during our virtual meets, we knew that with beginning in the afternoon in 100+ degree weather ("but it was a dry heat") and staying until after dark on the summer solstice (who picked that), it would take more than good vibes and some jokes to stay upbeat. Whether reassuring us that our wilted flowers would still look good (enough), or pacing the shoots so that we weren't bored/exhausted, or hearing the enthusiasm in his voice when he had an idea for a photo, we were almost just as bright-eyed at night as we had been from the start. We enjoyed working with Austen and even more so on our Wedding Day. He devised paths for our more adventurous photo locations, researched which sites would showcase the Galaxy best, helped us stage our reception and even served as a witness to our union! One of the most delightful experiences of working with Austen was (Austen, please don't read this part), when he takes a picture that he really likes, he compliments/celebrates with words and sometimes sounds, kinda under his breath. No examples, you just have to experience it for yourselves! Thank you for the memories Austen!

He offered his expertise in ski weddings whenever we needed advice, such as where to do the ceremony, if we need to book anything, dinner locations, .etc. With his help, we determined the final beautiful place for the ceremony events, ski resort, and dinner location. 3. Throughout every stage on the wedding day Austen was involved, artistic, attentive, and engaging. The first tiny thing he did was to help me wear my tie :). I couldn't appreciate him more. He has the magic to know what we were looking for, tailored it with his own suggestions, and made it work. 4. For the photography part, his photos were filled with emotion and has his own style with colors/settings. He has the magic to capture the perfect moments to turn them into timeless memories no matter if it is on snow while skiing or in our house or the ceremony events. Also, while shooting the photos, Austen will guide you/the group on how to relax and show the best smile/status. Usually, I'm not that comfortable in front of a camera and he made me feel at ease.
