th with wedding planning. We had a ton of family coming in from out of town and we were concerned about getting everyone there, getting all the materials there, and we felt like we were losing sight of the actual goal: to get married.
Camille made the day so easy for us. All the worries and concerns that had been building up in the months leading up to the wedding felt heard and understood from our very first meeting. She asked us all the right questions, and made the whole thing seem doable, and more than that actually made the whole wedding doable.
My wife and I tend to be planners so everyone was very concerned about us actually kicking back and enjoying our wedding instead of micromanaging everything from the sidelines. From the moment we arrived at the venue on the big day, it was clear that everything was taken care of! My mom rolled up with a trailer filled to the brim with all our wedding things, and Camille and her staff took over arranging everything including our archway exactly as we had pictured it! She followed all of our requests and anything that we didn’t explicitly discuss was arranged beautifully without adding any additional stress to our plates.
Throughout the night her staff was professional and accommodating. They handled set up of everything for the wedding including the archway, decorations for the ceremony, table settings, the welcome table, as well as serving the food, providing bartenders, and putting everything away at the end of the night. We got endless compliments from our friends and family over how beautifully everything was done and we were blown away ourselves!
Camille made sure we were taken care of with everything for the night. She made sure we had plates of food once dinner was started, she kept us hydrated, and kept us on our timeline so we didn’t miss out on photography, cake cutting, and every other event we had outlined.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend Austin Occasions to anyone getting married. It was so worth it!

The staff was always prompt in attending to our guests' needs and went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable and well-taken care of. The food was catered through another restaurant, but Austin Occasions made sure it was presented beautifully, and the team made sure to check in with us throughout the night to ensure we had everything we needed.

Unfortunately, my wedding planner was very disappointing and without Elona, so many things that were important to me, would have fallen through the cracks. Once it was evident that my coordinator wasn't going to do certain things she was supposed to, Elona teamed up with my mother and made sure everything came together effortlessly! She saved the day in so many ways and both she and Sara and Keifer were hard-working, professional, and friendly!

The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because I was told that the staff would be breaking down the tables and chairs at the end of the night and loading things up but those things weren't done so my dad and coordinator had to stay late to do this and I was charged extra from my coordinator. I completely understand that there weren't enough people to tackle this, but I wish that expectation hadn't have been set for me. It wasn't fair that my dad had to do this.

said the bartenders were fast and efficient, the staff was on top of clean-up, and everyone was extremely polite. A couple guests even asked if the staff worked for Umlauf, because they seemed to know the venue so well and clearly sincerely cared about our guests' experience there. During the planning process, we felt like we were in great hands with Melissa, and it gave us great peace of mind during the days leading up to the wedding because we knew she would take care of things even if we forgot something!
I would recommend Austin Occasions to any of my friends planning a wedding. Hiring them was one of the best things we did to make sure the whole day went smoothly and everybody had a great time.

onestly thought I didn’t need a wedding of coordinator but if Melissa had not been there it would have been a disaster. Not only did she handle every single detail for me, but she went above any beyond. I didn’t really plan on speeches, Melissa suggested we may want to and I am forever grateful - it was the most memorable moment. She also coordinated several things I had not thought in order to get great photo opportunities. I could go on and on about the things wonderful she did. But she didn’t just help me coordinate, Melissa did my flowers and they were so beautiful I actually cried. Her team staffed the reception and made it so easy to relax - they were all thoughtful and attentive the entire time. e incredibly helpful, & she stepped in to assist with a couple of difficult vendors when we felt that we were in over our heads. Whenever I had issues come up, prior to the wedding, or actual day of she ALWAYS had a solution, if not several sound suggestions for a solution. She is an incredibly reasonable person, & this extends as a grounding force when a bride (or groom) can be teetering off the deep end. Plus, she will be right there in the trenches with you when your bustle rips during the reception :).
She is an incredibly experienced & well-seasoned wedding planner / coordinator with the knowledge, staff, network, & expertise to match it. We absolutely loved her & loved working with her in the time leading up to the wedding, & I was so glad to have her at the actual wedding because beyond her doing her job, she felt like part of our family & I was excited for her to share in our day. My family & guests also really loved her. It was not lost on them how beautiful our wedding was (due to Melissa & her assistants' hard work in setting it up), but also how they doted on our VIP guests & on us to make sure that everything ran smoothly & beautifully.
If we were ever to renew our vows, or honestly - host any event with some complicated logistics, I would call Melissa to re-hire her in a heartbeat (I fully intend on giving her info to any future bride i know that will be getting married in the Austin area in the future). SO! If you are lucky enough to be able to snag Melissa & have the opportunity to hire her - DO IT! Honestly, I'd recommend hiring her before any other vendor (including your venue) - because she will make sure that you get what is important & what you want. Most of us only plan one wedding, maybe 2 - and you don't necessarily know all of the important questions to ask, but! Melissa does. She will make your (& your SO's, & your family's, & your vendors') lives so much easier & better!

he months leading up to the wedding, Melissa was easy to work with and I felt she understood what I was looking for in my semi non-traditional wedding while still providing helpful information on typical wedding standards I was not necessarily familiar with.
Hiring a full-service florist was not in our budget so she suggested I buy bulk flowers with her wholesale account but when it came to picking up, trimming, and storing the flowers before the day, I realized this was not feasible so Melissa also gave me a very reasonable quote to handle that for me as well including centerpiece arrangement for my rehearsal dinner and wedding, my bouquet, and boutonnieres. Everything was beautiful and very true to my vision and sample pictures I shared. I couldn't stop gushing over my bouquet and she even did a beautiful floral arrangement on our cake!
The actual day went by seamlessly and she and her staff were professional and accommodating, always making sure my husband and I were taken care of. She even brought a fabric sheet for my static-y dress which fixed the mini-emergency of my clinging skirt.
I'm happy with our decision to purchase our favorite Barbecue and have Austin Occasions to pick up the food, create a buffet and staff the dinner. We ended up saving money over full-service caterers and didn't have to compromise on the quality of our food. We then still had staffing through the end of the night to wrap things up. Melissa even let members of her staff go early when things winded down a little earlier than expected so we weren't paying for people who turned out not to have much to do.
Overall I would absolutely recommend each of her services. I can't imagine the day having gone any better with credit to them!

to read the plans for decorations, eventhough we had previously met at the venue (she was late to to this also) my family had to assist with hanging and placing decorations which means there are very few pictures of me with my mom and sister getting ready on one of my most important days. There were few photos of my father getting ready with the groom. During the entire event, she wasn't available or making sure announcements were happening. Several of my guests left because they thought we left. We were taking our pictures and she asked us to stop because guests were leaving rather than explain what we were doing. Again, more memories lost because she didn't fulfill her promise.

When we had issues with our vendors, Melissa would offer us perspective and advise on how to handle and even offered to step in if it would make us feel more comfortable. We always felt like we were in good hands and had someone protecting our interests. Flexible and responsive? Absolutely. I always received an emailed response within minutes of sending, and often a call back. I like how Melissa isn't afraid to get on the phone and figure things out.
On the day of the wedding, Melissa made sure everything was happening according to plan. I loved her attitude. All I worried about what getting ready and enjoying my day, which was no worry at all. It was amazing to see my vision manifest without having to check and make sure everything was working out. No one bothered me on my wedding day because Melissa was the gatekeeper and she made that clear.

She knows what she's doing and had great suggestions from our walk through to where to put the bar, from what time we should arrive to when to do the cake cutting. We made our own centerpieces, table numbers, menu cards, which she gladly put together before our reception. We bought our own tablecloths and chair ties, which she also put out and organized. She even sewed on my button, which fell off my dress before our first dance, AND sewed my mom's dress on her, when her zipper broke. And no one even knew about either one. She guided us along the entire night flawlessly. At the end of the night she picked up everything, including the gifts and dropped them off at the hotel. I couldn't have asked for a better coordinator or a better price!
