About this vendor
I am a New Orleans-based photographer with Midwestern roots. I grew up with painters for parents, my father handed me my first camera and paint brush at a young age. I studied 35mm & 120mm film Photography and Fine Art at the University of New Orleans, then went on to study under a successful local wedding photographer. That sparked a love for not just photographing weddings, but passionately documenting the day.
I have had a portrait hung in the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, my photographs were apart of Prospect .3, and I've had works hung in other galleries around the city. I was awarded twice as an International Wedding Photograph winner, and I am currently a member of the Professional Photographers of Louisiana.

As I was looking through my album I was able to relive my wedding all over. Not only was she able to capture beautiful pictures of my husband and I and the love we have for each ot...
her she was able to capture all of the small moments I missed from my grandma crying during my first dance to the kids with their orange slice smiles. For one person it is amazing how much she captured and you didn't even know she was there. With the one on one shoot with my husband and I she was so creative but at the same time gave us space to be ourselves and really captured our relationship and love for each other, some are beautifully romantic and breathtaking others are silly and put a smile on my face but they are us. I would 100% use her again, I would love to do just a whole day photoshoot with her and recommend her for your wedding.
Austyn was absolutely fabulous to work with and I would recommend her to anyone!!! From the very beginning I knew she was a good fit for us. I had reached out to many photographers...
, asking for pricing and explained to all that finding a photographer who could capture all the fun scenes on the dance floor was a priority for us. Most photographers responded with a rate sheet and some sample photos, almost all of which seemed to be styled / posed shots, with hardly any shots of standard dance floor shenanigans. Of all the photographers I reached out to, Austyn was the ONLY one that specifically addressed my priorities in her initial response. She created a sample album to show me that was filled entirely with reception photos of guests just letting lose and having fun! Right off the bat I loved her attention to detail and her caring attitude. She also had incredible response times! She pretty much always responded to my emails within 24 hours, and it was usually even less than that! Once we booked her, she continued to impress. She was so accommodating throughout the entire process, always willing to change and flex as our day-of timeline started to take shape. On the day of the wedding she had such a bubbly energy, she was honestly just so fun to be around!! I had multiple guests come up and ask who our photographer was, specifically commenting on how fun she was, genuinely enjoying the moment and giggling along anytime something funny happened. She seemed to be everywhere at once, always capturing the silliest moment. She sent us a sneak peek album just one day after our wedding!! I was so impressed! We just got the rest of the photos and they are fabulous. The only minor piece of regret was that we didn't end up getting one of the shots that we had put on the list of shots to get during the reception. To Austyn's credit, she had asked me multiple times about getting that shot, but I was so wrapped up in the moment that I told her not to worry about it. In reality, we really wished we took the time to get that shot. But that's not Austyn's fault, just a small regret of my own. All the other photos and the amazing experience we had with Austyn more than makes up for it!! We will gladly hire her again for any other major life moments we want captured. Thank you Austyn!!!
Austyn is an attentive, easygoing, and downright fun photographer! When you meet with Austyn, she is incredibly open and willing to talk through your vision, wants, and dislikes. H...
owever, she also makes good on her role to help guide you through making the most of your pictures... and she doesn't do it in a way that makes you feel like your suggestions are silly! As a professional, her kind spirit, enthusiasm, and keen eye shine through our pictures, and we couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend Austyn to couples for party, engagement, and wedding pictures!
We Love Austyn! From start to finish, she was absolutely amazing! Easy to work with, took time to know our personalities, and genuinely made us feel cared for. We loved the energy ...
she brought to the day, and it translated to her stunning photos!
Austyn is an amazing person AND photographer. We are so glad we connected with her. She spent more than the agreed upon amount of time doing our engagements and making us laugh so ...
our photos came out perfectly. She hired a second shooter to do my husband's posed portraits with his groomsmen and moms so she had more time to spend with me getting some fun getting ready photos. She had our engagement photos to us within a week and over 1300 photos from our wedding back in just a little over a month (extremely impressive, especially considering she was the only ceremony/reception shooter and Mardi Gras festivities started the weekend of our wedding). She put a creative spin on some of our photos, while also giving us the perfect amount of posed and candid photos. We could not be happier with her work and I'm still wondering how she managed to be in multiple places at once during our reception. And on top of her gleaming personality and creativity, she hand delivered our photo USB directly to our home in a sweet handmade box with a thank you card. We plan to use her in the future for any photographs we need to take; you absolutely cannot go wrong in hiring her and you will not be disappointed!

To start, Austyn is just super cool. She's down-to-Earth and kind and very professional, and she's very easy to talk to. I was a nervous wreck the day of the wedding. Since she was...
constantly looking at my face, she could see the anxiety, and she was the voice that kept telling me, "take a breath." And the photos! They are truly beautiful. The colors, the quality, the framing... she did a wonderful job. In short, she's great. She's not going to disappoint you because I don't think she can. It's not in her DNA, but what is built in there is a desire to help people find their smile. We're beaming from ear to ear.
How can I begin to describe how lucky we were have Austyn as our engagement and wedding photographer?! Her calm, warm, and cheerful personality made us and our family feel so at ea...
se, and we were so appreciative of her meeting with us to discuss and understand our vision, all while working within our budget. Our spring engagement shoot in City Park was such a fun adventure and even more special in that Austyn was able to arrange getting a permit to photograph us in the Botanical Gardens...we even got to visit the gazebo where my fiancé proposed! The entire session was fun and full of laughs, plus the shots came out absolutely beautiful! On our wedding day, which took place in my parents’ backyard in Mandeville, Austyn arrived early to capture some special getting-ready time, and was so wonderful and patient, especially as much of my focus was on my little dog Sadie, who was getting nervous preparing to be our ring bearer. At the end of our ceremony, my fiancé attempted to do a fancy “dip” with me as part of our first kiss, which ended in us both momentarily crashing to the floor (no one was injured - it was my dress’s fault :)). Austyn captured the entire progression of the mishap that ended up being the funniest and most memorable part of the day. The entire rest of the day was such a beautiful whirlwind, and she so accurately documented the people, things and moments that made our wedding day the happiest and most magical day ever! A close friend of ours recommended Austyn, and she is going to be shooting their upcoming wedding as well, and I can’t wait to see her in person and thank her again for all she did for us. Austyn is not only an incredibly talented photographer, but also a genuinely kind and fantastic person. Thank you, Austyn!
Austyn-Marie was the best choice we made and the only photographer choice anyone should make for their special day. She is so easy and professional to work with, very communicative...
and prepared, and did a great job wrangling everyone for photos. She has a great personality and is so fun to work with and my family absolutely loved her! If I ever need another professional photographer, I will be knocking on her door first. Thanks again, Austyn!!

e photos of our guests experiencing our second line and wedding so we got to see it through their eyes as well as have pictures of dear family and friends smiling, laughing, and having a blast not just staged, posed pictures. She knows New Orleans so well and had the ideal spot picked to take our wedding portraits. She also edited the photos beautifully and got them back to us quicker than we expected. My husband and I will cherish all of these images forever.

We could not have asked for a more perfect day, and now we'll be able to relive those perfect moments over and over for a long, long time. If you are looking for a totally awesome photography experience and a true professional, you absolutely won't find any better than what Austyn-Marie Captures. She is the absolute BEST there is!

he has done several sessions for my family from maternity, newborn, parties, weddings, and all of her photos exceed any expectations we had. Not only does she take the "regular" posed photos, she takes creative candid and intimate shots you don't notice her taking that will be some of your favorites. She is quick to get photos back to the customer and highly recommend her to everyone!!!
Austyn is an amazing photographer. She was extremely patient and captured the most precious moments of my grandsons. I would highly recommend her.

k to that moment in time and you won't even realize she was ever there. She makes it a point to stay out of the way so as to not interrupt the celebration but manages to capture every funny, loving, and tender moment of the event. I was the maid of honor in my best friend's wedding and Austyn's images caught every big and small moment and she was just a pleasure to have around. She's got an infectiously positive personality and I honestly just cannot recommend her enough.

perfect photographer for one of the biggest days of our lives to capture it. Austyn-Marie was recommended by Stella Plantation, and I was so thankful they did! Not only was Austyn professional from start to finish, she was so easy to work with, and we didn't even notice her half the time snapping away during the day.
There are not enough words to explain how amazing the photos turned out. My husband and I relived the day when the package arrived with the photos, (which we received in record time). The quality of the photos are outstanding, and every single guest is still talking about how she captured them at their most joyous. The photos were retouched to perfection, they were candid, natural, and had a wonderful journalistic feeling to them which was exactly (or even more so) than what we had imagined. I couldn't imagine anyone else capturing our day the way she did!

on our day. She captured my vision and also incorporated her own to take magnificent shots that are hanging in our homes. My family adores her and think of her as family.
The pictures are artful, beautiful and whimsical. They are real-life pictures and not posed or staged.
Call her because you will not have to worry about anything with her at the helm.
Austyns pictures are just like her... beautiful, whimsical, authentic, and down right fun! If you're a rad bride looking for THE photographer then look no further! Here she is! You...
can thank me later.
Austyn's work is not only stunning - it is authentic in every way. She is a genuine person and a genuine talent. She's efficient, fast and discreet with her work, which allows her ...
to capture natural, unforced moments of connection and joy between not only the bride and groom, but wedding party/family/guests as well. She blends so well into the background that people really let down their guards and the result is this beautiful photo story that transports you right back to that moment and let's you hold it in your hands. Photos were at the top of our priority list, so we knew we had to go with a photographer who placed the same kind of importance on truly capturing our special day. I'm not sure I could be happier than we were with Austyn's work. The photos feel genuine to who we are as a couple while really capturing the electricity that was in the air that day. There were a fair share of sweeping, romantic images of course, but some of my favorites are the ones featuring goofy faces and open-mouthed laughs - the little bits of quiet humanity she captured. I'm struggling right now with which images (of the hundreds she captured for us ) to print and frame, because frankly if I could be surrounded by them all day, every day...I would. I know that these images are going to be a source of joy and strength for me on bad days and good days alike and that, one day, we'll show them to our grandchildren as we tell them the story of our love. There are not enough thank yous in the world for that. If photos are in your top 3 priorities for a perfect wedding day, do yourself a favor and contact Austyn. I promise you won't regret it.

She makes everyone feel comfortable and at ease throughout the entire process. wish - capture our day authentically. My hope was to have photographs I could look back on in 50 years and remember the day exactly how it happened. There are not enough words to explain how well Austyn did this for us! She fit right in with our guests, and at times I forgot she was even there. Austyn managed to capture the best day of our lives discretely, beautifully, and truly. She was the best choice I could have possibly made and I will never forget her talent.
