Great, hard-working staff who were there throughout the night and made everything run smoothly. It was such a relief knowing we booked the ultimate Fargo wedding venue and we were 100% confident everything would go off with no problems— and it went perfectly!!

they handled all the food, dishes, table cloths etc. We decorated the day before and the staff already had the basic set up ready to go. They gave us carts to use to transport all the decorations. Our guests arrived early and they handled everything!

the drink tab. I was informed of this a while after the wedding because as the bride no one wanted to make me "stressed." I was told by both sets of parents and the bridal party that the staff was not up front with guests about what was available for the prepaid alcohol. Instead, they encouraged people to select other drink that has to be paid for. Our extra liquior tab was gone before the parents arrived at the social hour. Supposedly the kegs and glasses of prepaid beer and wine were hidden under the counter. They did not offer this stuff to people when asked what was available. The bridal party was supposed to drink free all night on a separate tab but i was also told some were caught paying for their own drinks. This was super disappointing to hear. I do think this place is a good venue but be careful and make sure to overly inform guests of what the free drink options are.

She was so helpful the day before and the day of the wedding and all the days leading up to it. The food was AMAZING. We had our guests telling us how good the food was!!! I've never been to a wedding where people were saying how good the food was! All of the staff was so incredibly nice and they truly care that you enjoy your special day and that really stood out. I will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family getting married in the future!

the pandemic. We worked with Leah throughout the entire process and she was OUTSTANDING! I have never met someone so organized! The planning process was effortless because The Avalon took care of everything. It’s a gorgeous venue and requires minimal decorating. All we had to do was pick out the food. Which by the way is absolutely amazing! Their entire menu was delicious and they have quite a few options to choose from as well. Leah never missed a beat throughout the whole process and she was always there to help when it was needed. I am so thankful that my wedding day was flawless and I couldn’t have done it without Leah and her team!

a pandemic, but all along Leah was so reassuring and accommodating and made the planning process a breeze. The food was AMAZING, they had protocols in place for Covid, and we were able to relax and enjoy our reception without having to worry about a thing! 10/10 recommend them!

the day absolutely stress free. The manager and Leah checked in with us several times during our event to make sure everything was going smoothly. Leah made sure to be in close communication with all of our vendors so that everyone was on the same page prior to the wedding as well as the day of the event. We had so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful the venue was as well as how friendly/helpful the staff were. I can’t thank the Avalon enough for making our wedding reception perfect and stress free!

The Prairie Rose Ballroom (max of 300) is stunning. We didn’t have to do much for decorations, as the ballroom is fabulous. We would definitely recommend the Avalon for wedding receptions!

better. The only mishap was that we had paid for champagne (and NA) to be placed on the head table and this must have been forgotten - but it ended up being taken care of. Both Vivian and Jess were great to work with and saw our vision through. Thank you!

ompliments on the food for rehearsal dinner and the wedding. We had 2 bars set up and I had warned them about making sure to have enough stocked and bartenders for the amount of guests we had invited, but they still ran out of a couple things. For large weddings, I would recommend to have more bartenders and ensure an accurate amount of supplies stocked but overall they did a good job. I was a little nervous when we had a couple changes in wedding coordinators, one being less than a month before our wedding, and an almost last minute booking in our room the night before the wedding but Leah put my mind at ease and really worked well with me to make sure our day was perfect. She answered all of my last minute questions and requests without a complaint. You can tell she enjoys and is good at what she does. I would definitely recommend the Avalon for events in the future.

I was not around when they did the small room change between ceremony and reception but I did not hear any complaints from guest so it must have gone smoothly. There was only a couple hiccups that occurred and both were from lack of communication but was not a surprise since in the little over a year we started to work with Avalon there is a lot of staff changes. The food taste testing is a good experience and the mixologist session was a blast. Our signature drinks was a hit! I would suggest the Avalon to anyone that would ask us were we went with the only recommending to work with them for a shorter span of time and to take the little mistake with a grain of salt since we are all human and nothing is perfect.

The Millennium ballroom is very gorgeous by itself and we did minimal decorations because that is the type of people my spouse and I are. They set up the room just like we wanted, along with putting decorated trees in there. The staff was wonderful to work with all night. After touring other large venues in the area, the price at the Avalon is cheaper yet you still get a wonderful event. Overall, we were very satisfied and will recommend the Avalon event center to anyone who is looking for a wedding venue.

have been phenomenal. We had a plated meal with open seating but everyone still got their food with no delays. Even with a little more than 200 guests, our food tasted amazing! The beef was perfectly cooked and juicy, chicken was tasty (yum that sauce), and even their vegetarian option was to die for (some of my friends have asked for the recipe). We left some stuff at the Avalon on accident and they were nice to hold it for us (even though it's been 3 weeks). Loved having the Avalon as our wedding venue! I would definitely recommend it to everyone!

knew we would book there all the way up to the point we hopped in the shuttle to take us to the hotel after the reception. The staff had helped us with our booking from day one and always made us feel as though we were in good hands. Not only was the staff professional throughout the entire process but you can tell they truly care about you. Let’s face it getting married is great but some of the process of booking the venue, picking the menu, dj, photographer, and other things that come with planning a wedding can become overwhelming and frustrating! The staff at the Avalon took us through everything step by step and made everything as about as easy as it could get. During the wedding I tried to talk with most of my guests and talked with some even after the wedding and all I heard back from them was how great the food was and that the amount of food served was just incredible. Everything was quality from the soup/salad to the entrees was just out of this world! To go along with the stellar service, great food, and gorgeous venue my husband and I had the time of our lives that we will cherish forever, the price for everything was untouchable compared to any other venue we looked at and I don’t think they would have been nearly as good as the Avalon was. It’s really great to hear your guests talking about how amazing the wedding/reception was days after the actual wedding. If your looking for just an all around great place to have your wedding or reception at PLEASE look no further than the Avalon! I would recommend this place to any couples looking to plan their big day here. Thank you Avalon and thank you to the entire staff for giving us more than we could ever hope for!

to the end of the wedding, we had nothing short of a perfect experience. The venue and grounds are beautiful for photos, and the rooms are absolutely stunning. Every guest echoed how amazing the food was and we cannot say enough about their amazing staff. Their professionalism, kindness and attention to detail is really something to be admired. I would like to extend a special thank you to all their staff who really helped to make our wedding day planning so wonderful and dare I say, effortless. Avalon left their house music on. And they didn't dim the lights for the first dance. Our dj finally went and talked to them about it. But otherwise. Food was amazing. We did pasta bar and everyone raved about the mac and cheese which they just recently added to their menu. All in all a great day and awesome venue.

Our reception and dance was a memorable time. The staff all worked well with us in our same-sex wedding. No real issues except for planning. Recommend.

rmation to the building and the rooms are very nice. Unfortunately, we no longer live in Fargo and were planning our wedding from Omaha. We were only able to make it a couple times for brief visits before the big day. It was also unfortunate that while planning from 6 hours away we dealt with 3 different wedding coordinators including the owner. We too got conflicting information and policies and calls about scheduling taste testings that had already been done by our parents, who drove 2 hours to attend. We had a personalized bar sign made for our event and I didn't realize it until it came back in the box the next day and thought about how many hours my bridesmaid/sister-in-law put into it, only to never be seen. The wedding reception went well but I didn't see or hear from the current wedding coordinator that was on duty that night until 11pm when I was walking to the public bathroom in the hallway. However, our vendors were fabulous and our dj kept our special night moving right along seamlessly.

The only thing that was frustrating was that they had 4 different people in the role of events/wedding coordinator in the 10 months that we were booked with them. So we had to repeat ourselves a lot and were told that we could do different things with different people. Just make sure to get everything in writing from them.

with 4 different wedding coordinators and the owner. None of them communicated with one another. Every time we thought things were going well, another bomb dropped. I received a phone call the 2nd Monday before my wedding. My husband called back and made an appointment to meet, to iron everything out. I then got another phone call that night, at 8:16. I didn't call back because I knew we had an appointment for the next day. I was called 3 times in 24 hours to set up a taste test after we had told them that we already had one. The Monday after the wedding, they called. They demanded I call back immediately. I was on my honeymoon and didn't want to deal with them, so I called my mom and asked her to give them a call. My dad stopped by because a couple of their mirrors ended up in our totes when we cleaned up. When he dropped them off, he let them know that I was on my honeymoon and would not return their calls. I was called 3 more times, by 3 different people. No one over there communicates. They lost my invoice, and when they found it, it was wrong. Very wrong. Wrong room, wrong head count, wrong count for champagne bottles, wrong head table count. When the aisle was set up, it was set up too narrow. Waaaay too narrow. I couldn't fit down the aisle in my gown. My family had to widen the aisles. I'm a small girl, but a big dress. I let them know ahead of time that that would be an issue. She was not receptive to anything I told them. At all. They would rather you give them a head count and a color for napkins and let them decide everything else for you. We were treated like bags of money, not like people. If you are already booked with them, get everything in writing. If you have a face to face or a phone call, summarize the meeting and email it to them, Keep bugging them until they confirm that's what was agreed to.

o. I was rather impressed with how much work and detail went into the place! It used to be the old Hub in Fargo and they remodeled it into such a more beautiful place. They have around 5 big rooms, each different sizes and styles to meet your wedding criteria. I went with the 'Dakota' ballroom, which fits 200 and has such a classical wedding look. We also had our reception on a Friday so they gave us the room for 3500 instead of 5000. What made this room also favorable is how decorated it looked already, it saved us so much time and stress! We planned our dinner at 6 pm but some guests ran late and I requested to have it around 6:30, which the staff seemed polite on doing. They even left it open a little later than planned too, which I appreciated for those who wanted any extra food. The bartender was also very sociable with our guests! After the reception, we received a lot of compliments on how lovely the food and atmosphere was. We even received comments that it was the best reception some people have been to. It was very wonderful!

same day and was able to answer all of my questions. The downside was that they don't have a formal food tasting. The way it works is you tell them your top choices and if they have an event there that is serving the food you like you can stop in and taste it. The only problem was that the food that was on the top of my list wasn't popular picks with other events so we couldn't taste it. I didn't want to serve something I hadn't tasted so we ended up going with chicken to be safe. It was ok, but its probably because we were the last to eat and so it wasn't warm by the time we sat down. Also we ran into problems when decorating because they didn't allow tape or tacks on the walls. Luckily I still had an email from when we signed the contract that said they did allow tacks so we were able to use tacks. Another problem we ran into was right before the menu was due we found out they had raised their food prices so I had to completely revamp the menu to fit within my budget. Later I found out from other people that I should have probably raised a fuss since we signed the contract when the prices were still lower and they should have honored the lower prices. Overall though they were still much less expensive than any other place we found. Overall I would recommend them, just get your food requests in really early so that you can find something you like and you don't have to settle.
