Way beyond the music! Rich brings not only musical talent, fun, professionalism but, a peace of mind. The assistance with ceremony mics, leading the flow of the evening, as well as, taking time to know us to make the evening extremely personal. Guests continue to tell us how personal the evening felt. Nothing canned and Rich played a big role in that for it to be a night of relaxation and joy. Rich from the Avalon band met with us twice to discuss the ceremony and reception plans prior to our wedding day. He gave great ideas for the timeline of events for the day before I had thought about the timeline details. The Avalon band brings all speakers for the ceremony/ reception - making it seamless and requires no bride coordination. They checked out our vendor before hand since it was new to them - this is not something we required and we felt pleasantly surprised with this amount of detail. Our guests loved the music and found our reception to be very engaging. We did not ask for a certain set list but when we asked the band mid reception to pivot and play more current material, they were able to quickly accommodate. I did not have a wedding planner but Rich was knowledgeable about the details we needed to iron out prior to the wedding. We also did not rehearse and there were no hiccups in the ceremony. We highly recommend The Avalon Band for your next event. These guys are easy to work with and are very accommodating!

Avalon played at my niece’s wedding this past weekend. They were SO good! A band can either make or break a wedding and this band delivered! They played the best dance songs and did an amazing job announcing the wedding party and keeping the dance floor filled! Everyone loved Avalon- !

Hiring Avalon the Band for our wedding was the best decision!!! Rich and the guys were so easy to work with and a lot of fun. Lots of compliments coming from our guests, everyone loved them. They played all the classics we were hoping for and brought a great energy to our party.

This band was incredible!! I’m so happy we decided to go with them—they rocked all night! The number one thing guests were commenting on, I can’t tell you how many times I was asked, “Where did you FIND them?!” The songs they played were perfect; you can really tell they pay attention to the vibe of the crowd! They offer services for all sound needs throughout the day (mics for officiant, ceremony sound, cocktail hour, etc). Rich is an all-around good person: professional, kind, easy-going. Typically responds within a day, which I was so thankful for! And they’re completely affordable, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg to have great live music!! We knew we wanted a band but I hadn't had luck finding anyone close to us that was affordable, responsive, and had wedding experience, so we almost gave up and had a dj instead, but I'm so happy we found Avalon! I cannot say enough times they exceeded all expectations and made the reception so unforgettable! Thank you for all the energy and talent you brought to our special day!

Rich and Avalon The Band played at our daughter's wedding. They were awesome! Rich's communications skills were great, prompt and informative. He lead us through what to expect and gave us insight as this was our first wedding we hosted. They were able to handle sound for the wedding ceremony and it was set up without having to remind or ask, which was appreciated. Rich helped us find a string duo to play during the wedding ceremony too. Rich guided us through the beginning of the reception and helped facilitate the order of speeches and again provided sound for that. The band is great, fun and people danced all night. Rich is kind, honest and works very hard to make sure we had what we wanted. What more can you ask for!

This band will NOT disappoint!!! Rich was so professional, we had a zoom meeting before to get details of what we wanted, very thorough! Rich even drove out of his way to go to the barn venue to scope out what we would need. He also had the sound equipment for the ceremony, played music before ceremony and played beautiful acoustics for cocktails. That does not even cover the music itself! They rocked the night! It was very hot on our day but the dance floor was never empty! I have had so many guests reach out to say how much they liked the band! Thank you Rich and the Avalon Band for giving my daughter and hubby a night they will never forget!

We hired Avalon The Band for a private party/celebration. They were great for a multi generational gathering. Music for all dancing for all. They were prompt and read the room perfectly. Would recommend this band for any occasion

We could not have been any happier with using Avalon the Band! They were incredible and kept the dance floor packed all night. Rich was awesome to work with, very responsive and customized the music selection for our tastes. We would hire them again in an instant!!

They say things happen for a reason and our encounter with Rich and his band was certainly just that. We (the bride and the groom) had originally signed a contract with another band, but due to Covid, we shifted our wedding from June to September and switched locations from an indoor venue in Grand Rapids to an outdoor one in South Haven. Unfortunately, the original band was not available on the new date and we were left scrambling for a new band. But this turned out to be such a blessing. We stumbled onto Avalon when the bride’s step-mom had chanced upon their website and had a great first conversation with Rich – he was pleasant, respectful and left a great first impression. When we checked out the band’s site and the videos of their performances, we knew we got lucky with this find. It did not take us long to decide to have Avalon perform at our wedding. There were several things that stood out about Rich and his band: (1) Avalon’s repertoire of music is extremely impressive. Don’t be fooled by their representative song list on their site; they know thousands of songs that range from Rock to Pop to Oldies and Classics. (2) The quality of this band is superlative. The groom is an amateur musician and we felt Avalon’s performance was on point across the board – the vocals were full and rich, giving the songs an authenticity and a special live quality that almost no other live bands have; the music was tight and polished, making them sound like they’ve been touring for decades. They also brought their own lightshow which made the performance even more memorable as it felt like a pro concert. (3) What was most important was that Rich is a genuinely good human being – after dealing with challenging and inflexible wedding vendors through the pandemic, this was a welcome reprieve. Rich was extremely professional, kind and flexible in working with; even though we were 3 time zones away, he stayed up late for calls and was extremely responsive with emails. We also had given him special requests for surprise songs which he accommodated with ease. (4) Rich has a broad network of other talented musicians and he turned out to be a one-stop shop for all our music needs. He runs a music school and is plugged in to the music community in Western MI. We were looking for a string quartet to play during the ceremony and he was able to find the perfect one. Our experience with Rich was so amazing, we asked him to replace the other live musicians for our cocktail hour. Above all, Rich’s prices were extremely reasonable and were a fraction of other quotes we got. We wish we had found Avalon right from the start, but better late than never. The live band is one of the few things that people truly remember from weddings. Avalon gave such an impressive live performance that many felt they were at a rock concert and they ran to the dance floor dancing the night away with their shoes off – old people and young kids alike. Even days after the wedding, the guests were still talking about the music. Many at the wedding now know who Avalon is and they are excited to have them play at future events. One little suggestion for Rich and Avalon – please include more videos of your live performances on your website so people know how truly skilled you are at your craft. Your performances will speak for themselves. We scoured bands from all over Michigan and Chicago and you guys stood out for so many reasons. You are truly special and you totally rocked the night!

We love Avalon The Band! The planning process was fun and easy. Rich has done lots of weddings and was great with the details. The band sounded amazing and played all the right songs. Of all our vendors these guys were our favorite!
