Lukasz at Avant-Garde is the best of the best. Many of my good friends worked with Lukasz for their weddings, so I knew he did beautiful work. From the engagement session to the final wedding photos- I am obsessed and look at them all the time. Lukasz went above and beyond to perfectly capture my big day and working with him was one of the best decisions I made!

Łukasz is an outstanding photographer. He is very professional while at the same time created a relaxed atmosphere during our wedding day. We absolutely love looking through our wedding photos and seeing how his attention to detail and artistic eye eternalized some unique moments on our special day. Lukasz was an excellent wedding photographer for us! We had an outdoor wedding early in the season and he worked with us a bit on our budget with a fairly short timeline as well which was very appreciated. He was a gem to meet in person and brought a quiet confident energy to the planned shots, and the more action shots were varied to the point it seemed like there were two people shooting. The only small thing was it did take a while to get the full photo album as it seems like he ended up very booked up the rest of the season. However the photos were well worth the wait! They turned out fabulous and we could not be happier with what turned out. Thanks Lukasz!

Not only does he have a natural talent for photography (as demonstrated by his inherent ability to spot the perfect setting or moment complete with lighting, framing, and color), he was also visibly passionate about the art and truly cares about the quality of the final outcome. We felt he was very reasonably priced given the extreme high quality of his photography, the number of photos we received, and the ease with which he was able to work with us. Lukasz helped not only keep us on track during this busy day, but he also emphasized the importance of prompt work, and it displays through his photos evidently. Not only did he include all of my bridal party, he kept things upbeat and fun to also help alleviate any other stressors.

He has an incredible eye for design and composition which I truly appreciated as an architect. Lukasz is absolutely wonderful and goes above and beyond. He found us a great spot with the most gorgeous fall colors for our wedding pictures and helped us navigate the challenging weather. It was raining all day long and he still helped us do pictures outside. The quality of the photos speak for themselves. Beautiful quality work and great attention to detail. The photographer was friendly and professional. He made what could have been a stressful experience fun and relaxing. We had photos taken outside the Field Museum and the University of Chicago, and the photographer did a great job of picking out beautiful settings for the photos. He came up with interesting and creative poses for us. We absolutely loved the photos.

We have used Lukasz now for our wedding, my in-laws 30th, and my parent's 50th anniversary celebrations. There is no one else I would trust to capture both the posed photos as well as the candid moments. His photos are beautiful and he manages to capture so much of our days for us to cherish. It allows us to truly be present vs. trying to take our own pictures. He also is such a great person it is very easy to have him around during special family moments. I highly recommend him.

Lukasz is amazing to work with and got us our amazing photos just in time for the holidays. We had an untraditional wedding and photo asks and he was one of the only vendors that truly listened to us and worked with us. He was also very laid back while still being communicative and professional. He provided a perfect combo of posed and candid shots. He gives direction to those who need it, but his strength is catching beautiful moments as they’re happening. If we were going to spend our budget on anything, it was photos. It’s one of the few things that lasted longer than the day of our event! We highly recommend Avant-Garde - Lukasz is the best!

Lukasz is very professional. We love the aesthetics, the color and the sharpness of our photos a lot. We had scheduled our wedding during pandemic and had to change the date a few times. Lukasz has been very accommodating and responsive, literally reduced a lot of our stress navigating the uncertainties. We also love the way he directed us for photos, we weren’t very good at posing, but the photos turns out really natural, probably because a lot of them were taken in motion. We found Lukasz through online search, and he lived up to the hype. He maintained constant communication through our events, and modified things for us as we worked around the pandemic. Through the engagement session and TWO weddings (a socially distanced outdoor gathering, and a full church ceremony - reception hall event) he remained professional and fun. Very friendly and easy to work with. Add in the benefit of fluent in Polish and English, Lukasz was the perfect photographer for our wedding. Highly recommended!

After shopping around a bit while wedding planning, booking with Lukasz was truly a no brainer - he accommodated all of my requests and really worked with our budget for our wedding. Not to mention, he worked with our rescheduling due to covid. Booking with him was seamless and fast. We also did an engagement shoot that turned out amazing & was a perfect practice for our wedding day! The day of the wedding, Lukasz and his team were incredible - they made sure to capture everything we wanted without pulling us away from living in the moment, which was most important to us. I was speechless with the final product, the pictures turned out so beyond incredible that I feel like I am reliving the day over and over again. The online album is also a favorite of mine, all my pictures throughout the day are pre-organized and easy to access through the website link. When my husband and I were looking for photographers we were not totally sure what we should be looking for. One thing we did know was that we wanted our photos to appear candid and relaxed even if we were posing. When we interviewed Lukasz we could tell that he felt the same way about photography. He mentioned how his job was to capture the emotion that we were experiencing rather than just ourselves or just our guests. The photos that he took really showed that he delivered on what he promised. We truly could not believe how well they came out. He walked us step by step on how to make ourselves look completely relaxed (even though being in front of the camera is not really our forte). During the photos after our ceremony it was just us and Lukasz. Taking photos and walking around the the arboretum where we got married gave us a sense of living in our own fairytale. At times my husband and I even forgot that we were being photographed and we really felt alone with each other. Working with Lukasz is truly one of the highlights we have of our wedding. He was fun, well spoken, professional, and diligent. We can not recommend him more highly. If you are considering hiring him, you should! I know we will definitely be hiring him in the future.

We hired Lukasz for our wedding after being introduced to him by our planner. We had never been to a wedding as adults let alone as actual bride and groom and we did not really know what to ask for or expect in our photographer. Needless to say Lukasz was a god send. He was very professional and a talented guide for my wife and I when having us pose for photos. He knew exactly the best spots at our venue to give us the best results. He was clear in his directions and made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, something we honestly never really were. One huge aspect of why we would highly suggest Lukasz is how accommodating he was when we had to postpone our wedding because of the pandemic. He really showed his true character as a resourceful and genuine person and was very understanding with our dilemma. At the wedding you could see his hustle. It seemed that everywhere you turned he was there getting photos of the guests, of our family and of us. Even our friends got to know Lukasz and he was happy to take photos of them when asked. The finished products of our photos are beautiful to say the least. They truly capture every memorable moment for eternity. We can not say enough on what an amazing photographer and person he is. We would hire him again 1000% in the future.

My husband and I are so happy that we picked Lukas to be our photographer for our wedding. At our very first meeting, I knew he was the right man for the job. He was genuine, passionate, and creative! He was also very organized and helpful getting things in order for the big day. We did an engagement session at two locations which was very beneficial for both him and us because he learned our style and we practiced being photographed. Lukasz was our wedding photographer. We haven't seen our pictures yet but we're confident that they're going to be amazing. Lukasz knows what he's doing and understands how important these memories are. He works really hard in understanding what you want and will use his experience to guide you when needed. Rest assured that once he accepts the task, you'll get nothing but his best. The only reason we're holding a point is that we haven't seen our pictures yet. But again, we're confident that we'll update this review to a 5/5 once we see our pictures.

Jake and I immediately liked Lukasz's attitude when we met with him. He had a no-nonsense attitude that left us feeling like we were in good hands, and his sense of humor made us immediately feel at ease. We wanted to prioritize candids and pictures that really captured the raw love and energy of the moment. Lukasz seemed to understand that almost immediately. We were planning from out of state, and work very demanding hours, so unfortunately were not able to meet with him or his team before the day of our wedding. Regardless, Jake and I felt so comfortable on the big day. Lukasz had made an extra trip out to our venue, and it was clear from the beginning of the day that he had a vision for our wedding and reception photographs. We haven't gotten all of our pictures back yet, but the images we have seen have been absolutely stunning. Lukasz and his team are nothing but professional, and so easy to work with. We would recommend Avant-Garde again and and again to anyone.

I would absolutely recommend Lukasz for your wedding. He makes your special day so enjoyable and natural you don’t even know he’s there to capture the moments.. even moments you wouldn’t know even needed to be captured! He did my sister-in-laws wedding and we fell so in love with all her photos, and now ours, it’s only been a few weeks after our wedding but I know that the pictures are going to be AMAZING! We used Lukas for both our engagement photos and for our wedding day and would highly recommend him. My husband and I aren’t super comfortable taking photos, but Lukas made us feel super natural and the shots turned out great! On the day of our wedding we had two shooters. They blended in so well and never felt like they were in the way trying to get a certain shot, so we were able to relax and just enjoy our day/night! We didn’t spend a lot of time on staged photos, but got all the necessary family photos done and were able to really just take in the whole day while Lukas shot candids! Again, pictures turned out absolutely beautiful!!

Lukasz photographed our wedding in July at Salvage One. He spent time with us to make sure all of our special memories were captured. During the wedding it was not even like he was there — but based on the great moments he photographed he must have been everywhere! Our pictures are awesome and will last us a lifetime!

Lukasz did an amazing job capturing our wedding day! We love our pictures and feel that he captured all the little moments and details that made our day so special to us. He had a good balance of candid photos and formal family and bridal party pictures, both of which we were extremely happy with. We were also very happy with the quality of the pictures and the editing work that he did. On our wedding day, he did his best to pull us away from the craziness to get some shots of just the two of us during the reception and we are so glad that he did. Lukasz was very accommodating about meeting us near our apartment in the city for an initial introduction. He also shot our engagement photos and while I don’t love having my picture taken, he made my now husband and I feel extremely comfortable from the very beginning. Instead of shooting in all the standard engagement shoot spots in Chicago, he helped us find unique spots that aren’t so over-done (although he was open to anything we wanted). They turned out great and it really helped having him shoot both our engagement and wedding photos because we were able to get to know each other. We would highly recommend Lukasz to anyone looking for their wedding photographer!
