Amy isn’t just a florist, she’s truly an artist and one of the most creative people we’ve met! Working with her was one of the biggest highlights of our wedding planning process. A...
s soon as we described our early vision, she immediately understood it and brought her own special touch and expertise to make our florals better than we ever thought possible. From early moodboards, to every planning milestone, the entire process with Amy was seamless, but also incredibly fun. She even came with us to plan our tablescapes, making sure every visual detail of our wedding was perfect and cohesive. Seeing the final products on our wedding day truly blew us away!
Not only is her work amazing, but Amy herself is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and genuinely enthusiastic about bringing your floral vision to life. We truly felt (and could see) how much heart she and her team put into our wedding. The florals were one of the most beautiful parts of our day, and we’ll never forget how special they made everything feel.
Amy created magic with the florals for our wedding day. She accommodated our unique request to incorporate IKEA golden retriever stuffed animals into the arrangements, and she desi...
gned beautiful, versatile arrangements that served our cultural ceremony, our main ceremony, and brought so much life to our dinner tables. We were in awe, and the flowers were the talk of our wedding.
We know basically nothing about flowers, so Amy really carried this one. She brought so much color, whimsy, and elegance to everything. I loved that each of my bridesmaids had her own unique bouquet.
We feel so lucky to have gone with Amy and Avela Florals. If you're having your wedding in the Berkshires, going with Amy and her vision is a no brainer.
I HIGHLY recommend Avela, Amy and her team! The flowers they sourced, their design inputs, and the final product were more magical and stunning than I could have ever hoped for. Am...
y was a core part of the design for our wedding. She came with us to pick out the rentals, advise on color palettes, textures and what would look best in the space. She has an incredible eye and her experience in so many different venues and florals shines. I shared an initial pinterest board with her and some of my favorite flowers and she came back with exactly what I was looking for and more. It was such an enjoyable and fun process working with her and letting her imagination and creativity come through. She even went as far as to source a rose that was the exact coral of the napkins we picked together. It's the little things she adds and how she can take a big idea and make it so unique and special to you. I could not have asked for a better florist or experience, thank you Amy and team!!
Where do I even begin? The talent that is Amy Mendez and her team is truly indescribable. Amy was the very first vendor I booked — before we even had a venue — and from the moment ...
we met, I knew she was our florist (though that title doesn’t even begin to cover the role she played).
To say Amy went above and beyond would be the understatement of the century. We instantly connected over our shared love of all things vintage, swans, and creating a wedding that felt natural, authentic, and deeply personal. I put complete trust in Amy’s vision, and somehow she delivered something even more magical than I could have imagined.
Over the year and a half we worked together, Amy thoughtfully curated an entire tablescape using vintage treasures she had been collecting just for us. From the most incredible vintage swans at our escort table, to dahlias the size of your head, to stunning local florals everywhere you looked — every detail felt intentional, romantic, and like us. And let’s not forget the detachable pearl-handle flower purse (still not over it!).
Amy was so much more than our florist — she was a confidant, a creative partner, and a true friend throughout the entire process. Beyond being a genuinely wonderful human, her vision, dedication, and heart are what made our wedding feel so special and so us.
Thank you, Amy, from the bottom of our hearts. Our wedding would not have been the same without you

rked with us to bring our vision to life absolutely perfectly, helping us sift through our good ideas (and our bad ideas!). She was so attentive, knowledgeable, caring, and organized. Her work to support local flower farmers, the community, and the environment is a perfect example of the care she brings to everything she does.
On our wedding day, I cried walking down the aisle for many reasons, but a big one was how perfectly Amy captured the image of what we had been working on together. All our guests were blown away by her team’s work, and we can’t wait to keep recommending her to everyone we know!

ed beauty of our welcome event, to the stunning ceremony florals and chuppah, to the out-of-this-world ceiling installation and gorgeous tablescapes at the reception.
She has an amazing eye and an extraordinary talent for bringing a vision to life while elevating it beyond what you could have imagined. On top of that, she’s a joy to collaborate with — professional, kind, and deeply committed to getting every detail just right.
Amy is truly the best of the best, and we cannot recommend her highly enough.

vision that we didn't even know we had and made our entire weekend so beautiful with her amazing talent. Amy was extremely communicative and transparent with us throughout the process, which allowed us to not have to worry about the details and let her take charge because we trusted her to execute! She is also extremely committed to sustainability, which was very important to us. On top of all of this, Amy is a very lovely person and so wonderful to work with. and dinner table arrangements and everything in between, each arrangement was exquisite and unique, full of texture, movement, surprise, and interest, completely transforming the galleries at MASS MoCA into something magical.
Amy helped us every step of the way - including involving us in the design process and assisting us with the selection of complementary linens and other elements. We walked through the spaces several times together as we collaborated on our wedding vision.
Guests couldn’t stop commenting on how stunning everything was. Every detail felt intentional, meaningful, and personal. Truly one of the most memorable parts of our day! It was better than we could have ever imagined!

te coordinators we worked with. She practices sustainability and she focuses on using flowers that are in bloom at the time of your wedding. Our tablescape flowers were the talk of the wedding. I told her my vision and our colors and she absolutely nailed it. She even came to our rental appointment to help match the dinner set up with the the flowers. She is sweet, understanding, and incredibly talented. Thank you for everything!

lorals were extraordinary! I particularly loved Alexandra's bouquet and how the balance of rich, deep colors mixed with a few lighter florals against the palette of our wedding party attire enhanced the whole look!
Amy's eye for artistic design and beauty wowed us and our guests - everything from the church to the reception to the extraordinary tent greenery and ballroom ceiling installation decor were spectacular. Even during brunch the next day guests were blown-away by the breathtaking centerpiece arrangements, especially when seen in the fresh, bright mid-morning sunlight. Amy's combination of distinctive florals (with some individual flowers so unique and fun they could stand alone!) really made the arrangements a work of art!
Additionally, Amy's professionalism, attention to detail, creativity and super pleasant personality made her a pleasure to work with!

ur choices for our rehearsal dinner and reception tablescapes. Amy was always responsive throughout the planning process, and a true joy to work with. One favorite element was how she used my floral rehearsal dinner dress as inspiration for the flowers that evening - the result was absolutely stunning!

I was going for a unique and eccentric vibe and she totally nailed it. I got so many compliments. t pops of red to honor Chinese wedding symbols, and “auspicious fruit” incorporated into the tablescape. The arrangements she crafted were beyond anything we could have imagined. From the stunning escort card display—we literally stopped in our tracks!—to the sumptuous dinner table and cocktail hour arrangements to the gorgeous ceremony and personal flowers, she brought extraordinary creative vision and artistry to every part of the wedding. Everything was a feast for the eyes—and, in some cases, a real feast (we later found out that some guests had nibbled at the grapes and peaches on their tables). And, it meant so much to see our cultures and traditions reflected through her work. Most of all, we are so grateful to Amy for her gracious, collaborative, and kind spirit throughout the planning process. As we developed our floral vision together, Amy was super responsive and easy to work with. Thank you, Amy, for being an incredible partner!

d boy did she nail it! I also wanted greenery only for the bridesmaids so that my bouquet popped a bit more and they were just lovely. She was super easy to communicate with and even adjusted the proposal midway through when I had a slight change of heart. The flowers were the most complimented part of my day and I made it a top priority to preserve them the minute my wedding was over. I want to keep them forever!! I could not be happier and cannot recommend Avela highly enough!! Thank you, Amy ♥️
Amy is SO talented. She was easy going and made the entire process so enjoyable. Her talent is unmatched, I'm still getting compliments on my flowers weeks after my wedding!

hanging florals. I wanted something that I had never seen done before! She made that dream come to life. She was a true teammate, a 'let's make it happen' type of vendor, and has the most amazing artistic eye. She was extremely communicative and an absolute joy to work with. From the bouquets to the bud vases on our tables, everything was perfection. Then there was the tent. Amy and her team individually hung 790 flowers from the ceiling of to achieve our secret garden goals. Walking under the tent for the first time is truly a moment I will never forget. It was absolutely magical, and became even more magical as the night went on.
I am SO thankful that I had the opportunity to work with Avela's for my wedding. A vendor that felt like a friend more than a vendor, a vendor that listened, and a vendor that was willing to do everything she could to achieve my dreams. Don't look anywhere else for your florals. Amy and her team and Avela Floral Design is IT!

Words cannot express how much my husband and I enjoyed working with Amy and her team for our wedding! From the first time I spoke with Amy, she knew how to bring my vision to life....
Throughout the planning process, she was flexible with any changes, professional and timely with proposals and budgeting, and always recommended beautiful and creative pieces to highlight our special day.
Seeing the bouquet she had created for me on the morning of our wedding brought me to tears! Each piece - from the wedding party flowers to the ceremony arch and table centerpieces, were each so unique and beautiful. Wedding guests still talk about our floral pieces from that day.
I cannot say enough great things about Amy and her team. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a florist!

went above and beyond, and made sure that our vision of the florals was cohesive with the design of the entire wedding by attending meetings with our wedding coordinators at the rentals warehouse. She always offered to go to extra in-person meetings, responded to emails with detailed information/photographs/and renderings, and was available by phone as well. But this was all even before the wedding - the actual floral arrangements for our rehearsal dinner and wedding were INCREDIBLE! They were truly breathtaking - from the ceremony centerpiece, to the rehearsal dinner table arrangements (that she saved us money by having them repurposed as cocktail hour arrangements!), to the perfect bud vases and floral arrangements at our reception - everything was stunning. We received so many compliments on our guests on the beautiful and unique arrangements and we ourselves were so overjoyed. Amy was such a pleasure to work with and her team worked tirelessly to ensure that everything looked amazingly beautiful at our wedding and we could not recommend her more highly!
