Averi With an Eye

Averi did a beautiful job addressing our envelopes (everyone raved about them!) but I was so disappointed by the seating chart sign! She dropped it off as she was heading out of town 4 days before my wedding so there wasn't time to fix anything. I had asked her if she could remove someone that cancelled at the last minute and she said she could... but she didn't mention that she had already written the name and just smudged it out. I would have rather just left the name on! You can still read the name of the guest that she smudged out and then just wrote someone's name over it. There are a couple of other names that had smudges on it were it looks like maybe she wrote it wrong initially and then tried to cover it up by darkening the writing over it. It'll be dark out so hopefully the errors on the sign won't be so obvious, it just seemed sloppy after such beautiful envelopes that I was shocked. The signs also reek of the stain that she used on the wood, so much so that we have to make multiple trips to the wedding venue because we didn't want anything else in the car with the signs because they smell so bad. Our welcome sign is gorgeous though!! I think she is really great, but definitely seems like she sped through our signs before she left on a trip. As a professional calligrapher, our seating chart sign definitely deserved a redo, and I was shocked by the quality after how awesome our envelopes were. I think it also would have been a bit more professional to stain the signs a little bit further in advance so they don't reek at the time of delivery.
