l definitely see the difference from some of the amateurish portraits that come from inexperienced photographers. We were blown away with the final product! Definitely recommend her to anyone that wants amazing pictures of one of the most important days of their lives!

h Quarter in New Orleans as a backdrop, and the shots she created showcased our love and the city so beautifully. The hardest part of working with Avery is narrowing down the hundreds of pictures to a hundred or so to share with our guests, because we're obsessed with each and every one of them. Our guests look natural and comfortable in the photos, and their personalities shine through both her portrait style pics and action shots. Plus we look stunning if I do say so. We planned our wedding on an insanely short time frame and booked Avery right away, but she was able to roll with it with total grace. 10/10 would recommend!

Avery’s on the other hand, was unique, authentic and bold, punchy and exactly what we were looking for. We had a good feeling when we decided to request Avery's services after viewing her phenomenal work. She was quick to respond to our initial inquiry and in no time we had a signed contract in hand. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, we finally met in person to discuss the day-of plans to which we were further pleased with our decision. We felt as if we were meeting up with an old friend rather a stranger we had only corresponded with by e-mail. She was accommodating and prepared with questions about what we were looking for on our big day and contacted our other vendors to best scout out the venues we chose. If we forgot anything, she was accessible and easy to reach at all times. From our initial meeting, through the ceremony and days that followed, Avery was focused, knowledgeable, helpful and wonderfully easygoing. Avery went above and beyond to capture so many unique moments during our wonderful day. For example, we hired a Checker Cab to bring us to our reception; Avery led the driver to a number of spots along the way that she had previously scouted to take photos with both NYC icons as well as quaint, quintessential West Village streets, all while evading street traffic! Her experience as a street photographer (where she works primarily) is a testament to the high quality of her non-traditional, but exceptionally composed photos where she must work in a tight timeframe. She never stopped moving and often, we forgot she was there. 795 photos would suggest otherwise. Our reception was a small dinner in a historic restaurant, but it did not stop her from covering all of the bases to the food, our guests, favors, scenery, etc. She was also a huge hit with our families. Who could ask for anything more? We are happy to add another wholly positive review of Avery’s inspired and beautiful photography. We cannot say enough times how great she was to work with and how beautiful our photos were.

my destination wedding in New Orleans. She is also based in NYC, where we live, so meeting up was easy. When you meet Avery, you will be warmed by her large smile, and within her photography, you can see her eye for detail and composition. As an artist myself, I was very picky about what kind of artist I wanted to use for my wedding photography- Avery specializes in street photography, which means she can catch beautiful candid moments all through your special day. Even those family members or those shy friends who are not photogenic- Avery will catch them smiling and smiling well! The day of my wedding was hectic, and Avery was as cool as a cucumber and quick as a tiger. We had this cool eye contact across rooms and it was like she could read my mind while trying to take family portraits and traditional wedding photos. I has even been meticulous in typing out a photography want list- this list got caught in my email inbox and we pulled it up on my cell phone IN THE MOMENT DAY OF and she was able to get every single shot that I dreamed of, and more. We also asked for a second photographer to cover spaces where Avery cannot be- and Avery’s judgement was, once again, magnificent. Our second photographer was Chelsea Caldwell, and we loved having two artist’s aesthetics and different views of our wedding. The turn around time for the sneak peek and the full set were quick, even though Avery had other wedding albums to edit as well. My family is obsessed with the photos, my friends keep changing their profile pictures to the beautiful shots she captured of them, and my husband and I are blissfully happy that our special day was captured so deeply and intimately. I highly recommend Avery Leigh Photography. I take no hesitation to recommending her to anyone who asks, “Know a good photographer?” Because I really, really do.

She was consistently at the right place at the right time, so much so that we didn't even notice her at times (which is a good thing!). We got all of our photos within a week, which was way faster than expected. There were a lot of them, and, no exaggeration, every single one of them was fantastic! The life, color, depth, composition, movement and joy in every single shot is absolutely wonderful. She's a true artist!

Any photos that I was able to peek at over her shoulder also looked fantastic, and I can't wait to see the finished results. Avery was also willing to follow us a few blocks down the street to our after-party, which was truly appreciated. She was so laid back and fun to be around that she almost blended in as a guest, which I imagine will result in some remarkable candid shots. In fact, several people commented that they assumed she was a friend who had agreed to shoot our wedding because that's the feeling everyone got off of her. Who can ask for more than that?

She was able to capture all the fun, candid moments and joy everyone was having. She also included some of the more traditional pictures as well. She mingled with the crowd and felt like family which made everyone else comfortable and enabled her to capture the raw candid emotions we all had. Avery was also able to provide our photographs quickly (~2 weeks) so we can relive the moments over again. We will definitely be recommending Avery to our friends and family, if we haven’t already. stopped hearing from our guests on how she was everywhere! We have gotten our pictures back from our welcome reception and wedding and I have to say that they are fantastic. She captured some of the sweetest and joyous moments. She also did our engagement photos which turned out perfect. Since we were from out of town, scheduling was a bit difficult and she was so accommodating of our needs. If I could give her 6 stars I would!

No joke, I started to think the pictures actually looked better than I do in real life. I've been using them for a few weeks now on my resumes and it's already made a huge difference. Avery is so fun and easy to work with and she made me laugh a bunch. Probably the most relaxed I've ever been in front of the camera. I can't say about some of the other people we worked with during our wedding (our DJ was 2 hours late to the wedding, for example). My husband is from New Orleans, but we are currently residents of Oklahoma and planning a wedding from miles away was a difficult task. We held our ceremony on July 23, 2016 in Congo Square in Louis Armstrong Park and followed with a second line in the middle of the French Quarter. she was the one that we should hire. She's warm, friendly, and has a great eye for beautiful pictures. We brought our dog with us for our engagement shoot, and Avery was SO patient with our little ADD pup and took extra time to make sure that she had pictures worth putting her name on.
