She listed to my needs, was super thorough when asking questions, and was patient with me when my answer was "I don't know!" It was important to me that the pursuit of the "perfect shot" did not get in the way of our wedding day and I explained to Avery that I wanted her to capture the day exactly as it happened with minimal posed photos. Avery went above and beyond with this and captured raw, genuine moments in such an artistic way. She also had me fill out a questionnaire so she could understand the timeline of events and family dynamics. Having all these important things communicated ahead of time allowed me to be hands-off and stress free the day of our event. During the event, Avery was so sweet, and all our guests loved her! She was wonderful in directing portraits and making sure everyone felt comfortable. When we got our gallery back, we were in awe! She sent us back our photos and they were so airy and radiant, even though we had to have the event indoors due to weather. She nailed the candid photos; they looked like something straight from a magazine! Avery is professional, an excellent communicator, and a top-notch photographer. I have used professional photographers several times and she is certainly one of the best. I would not hesitate to hire her again for a wedding or any special event!

introduced herself and took us through her process during the initial call she was professional, warm, witty and super organized. We told her that we were an older couple who had been together for years and so we were not as much into the traditional wedding thing. Avery was affirming and held our hands every step of the way. She listened to us define what was important and our vision for the big day. Her package comes with an engagement session. I didn't know what to expect at such a session but during those two hours--that's when I really saw Avery shine. We suggested a new location for the shoot which she was excited about and then when we got there she made us feel at ease with the setting and each other. She helped me coordinate my outfits! Avery is highly organized, a good communicator and passionate about bringing out the best in the couple and has great photographic skills. During the engagement shoot she explained to us everything about why she was asking us to pose in a specific way, why she created a huge guide for the bride and groom (read it--it's comprehensive!) and how our work during the engagement session was going to enhance how the wedding day would go. I had a fabulous time at the engagement session and my partner and I made a decision on the spot to hire her for the rehearsal dinner which was a very good decision on our part. We also LOVED the engagement photos. She's definitely a people person, has great emotional intelligence and just feels like someone who is going to take the time to get to know you during a very stressful and joyful time in one's life. Much of the 'wedding industry complex' feels impersonal and fake. Not Avery. She made us feel special which is what every couple hopes for. She stayed on top of all the details prior to the wedding and communicated effectively with the wedding planner and other vendors. We LOVED the wedding and rehearsal dinner photos. On the big day, she was calm, supportive, again super organized and had a great assistant. She was energetic and by that time she was used to myself and my partner and was able to capture great shots. Every wedding website I read said don't scrimp on a photographer and they were right. Aspects of the wedding are a blur and looking at her photos, I'm able to remember and savor so much. Her rates were incredibly reasonable and I am looking forward to working with her again.
