Awakened Light Photography is a wedding & portrait photography service based in Eastern Kentucky. You'll love working with Nikki Schuler, who finds joy in capturing the story, details, and emotion throughout every wedding. Her goal is not only to create and deliver beautiful photographs but to help her clients to have an amazing experience from start to finish. She is honored to be a part of such special occasions and hopes to provide her couples with an experience that is just as satisfactory as the resulting images.
Nikki has loved photography since she was 12 years old. The first wedding that she photographed was for a close friend. From that moment on, she knew that she was destined to capture these romantic events for as many happy couples as she could. Before she devoted herself to her photography career, she worked as an international youth speaker and Creative Arts Director. This allowed her to travel to over 40 different countries across the world. Now, she lives with her husband and children in the quiet town of Ulysses, KY.
Awakened Light Photography offers a range of services to suit a variety of budget and style requirements. These services include engagement sessions, high-resolution images, and a collection of digital files. The services of a second photographer can be arranged in advance of the big day to ensure that your entire event is documented from beginning to end. An initial consultation gives Nikki the opportunity to discuss your vision for the day and gain an understanding of your unique taste. By only taking on one event per day, she can focus solely on you and your occasion.

We could tell she cared deeply about capturing the best shots and delivering the best experience and product she possibly could. She was very flexible in ensuring we also captured photos with our beloved dog for the engagement shoot and wedding day. We received our wedding gallery this past week and my (now) husband and I cannot stop looking through the images and reliving our wedding day! Nikki truly captured the entirety of the day such that as we go through the photos it feels like we are again experiencing each moment. We are simply overjoyed. ment Nikki enough. From my first phone call with Nikki, I felt like she understood what I wanted for my wedding day and that I could trust her. She is professional and very kind. Leading up to the wedding, she was always quick to respond to my emails. We went to her studio to discuss the wedding day details, so I didn't have any photography worries for the big day. We also did a bridal shoot with my dog beforehand that turned out amazing! On the wedding day, Nikki arrived early and stayed late. Her assistant, Christine, was also great to work with! Christine was able to get the groomsmen quickly posed and photographed while Nikki was photographing myself and the bridesmaids. Nikki made sure to come get us when the sun was setting and had already scoped out the perfect location for a sunset photo. When Nikki sent the first set of wedding pictures over in her blog post, I started crying with joy. The photos turned out amazing! She captured all the perfect moments and little details! Thanks to Awakened Light Photography, we now have tons of beautiful pictures to remember our wedding day. Nikki is truly a gem to work with and I highly recommend her. We will definitely be hiring Nikki again when it is time for baby photos!
