We absolutely LOVED having Willis as our DJ. My husband and I had many worries about our reception and Willis had the answers to everything. He was very friendly and easy to work with. Even on the day of our wedding, he was very understanding and flexible to some last minute changes that we had. All our friends and family has nothing but good things to say about the music. Even our family from Mexico loved him! He kept the party going on the dance floor all night which was very important for us. We recommend Willis for all your DJ needs!

Willis was everything we could’ve asked for and much more, and totally knocked our wedding out of the park. Willis is super fun, easy going and we loved working with him. He was very intentional about understanding what we were looking for out of the experience and kept the dance floor full the entire evening. We had the absolute best time dancing at our wedding! Willis made our wedding day the most incredible party we’ve ever been to, which was ultimately our goal! The ceremony was beautiful and the music was timed perfectly. We had an epic New Years Eve wedding/party, all thanks to our DJ, DJ Chance!! He kept the dance floor full ALL NIGHT, which is quite a feat for a wedding that goes until midnight. He read the room perfectly and intuitively knew what kept our crowd going. We got so many compliments and even were told by MULTIPLE guests that he was one of the best DJs they'd ever heard. DJ Willis and DJ Chance made the process easy, from initial outreach to their online portal to request songs for different parts of the ceremony and reception. When something was unclear, we got swift questions and answers. We truly cannot say enough about DJ Chance and the environment he created for our wedding. 15/10 recommend!!

I could write a thousand 5 star reviews for DJ Willis and it still wouldn’t be enough! This man came and delivered everything we could have ever wanted. From the first phone call, to the months of planning, to the day of our wedding, Willis went above and beyond. DJ Willis is awesome! He allows you to have as much control over your day as you'd like and he does not shy away from even the weirdest of requests! He entertained a fun beer boy entrance, moshing, video game music, and all other kinds of quirky things for probably the weirdest wedding he's done (LOL!). Willis J Entertainment was amazing! Willis was super easy and fun to work with from our first phone call through our wedding itself. He went above and beyond and even worked with my dad so he could have a walk on song for his speech at the wedding. Willis is an amazing person and DJ! He is so friendly, accommodating, and was always happy to answer my (many) questions! He met up with us beforehand to grab coffee--we thought we were going to talk wedding, but he just wanted to get to know us as people and learn our story. Willis really put our minds at ease that everything was going to be A-okay on our wedding day. And it was! He really helped our day flow perfectly, was great at moving the party along, and ensured that everyone had a great time! Also, bonus points: I had a particular section of a particular song picked for my walk down the aisle, and there's a fanfare section--I'd asked if he could try to time it so that the main fanfare hit right as I got to the altar. Well, he hit it right on target. The timing could not have been more perfect--so much so that my nervous self turned around and gave him a thumbs up at the beginning of the ceremony! :) But really, thank you so much Willis for helping make our day so special!

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Willis at a few weddings and consider him to also be a friend. Darnell is the best!! We were ahead of schedule which meant the dance floor was open longer and it was packed the entire time !! We could’ve kept dancing for hours. RUN, don’t walk and book them as your DJ!!

Willis is the best! He kept our dance floor packed the entire night, even my 80-something year old grandmothers danced! He is so much fun to work with and his client portal is so easy to use and makes planning the music for both the ceremony and reception fun. Full disclosure, I won his DJ services in a contest and I've never been so lucky to win something in my life! I could not have picked a better DJ and if I ever need another DJ, I will immediately hire him!

Willis was all we could have hoped for and more. My husband and I came to Willis with a mixed bag - we wanted 1920s-40s jazz for the first half of our wedding and music for a rager for the second half (throwbacks, pop/hip hop, typical wedding songs). Willis met with us beforehand to make sure he understood the assignment and let me tell ya, he understood it. The whole night was seamless. Willis was professional, timely with communications, and super personable. We heard from several of our guests that they thought Willis did an amazing job. 11/10 would recommend Willis to anyone.

DJ Willis was a pleasure to work with. He is so easy to talk to and personable. His website was easy to use as far as making a timeline and organizing songs (must play, do not play, etc.) Once the ceremony was over, he had my husband and I hyped up and dancing all night! Not only was he an amazing DJ and emcee, he is a great person. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

DJ Darnell DELIVERED! From our first encounter with him he made us feel super comfortable and confident that he picked up on our vibe and what we envisioned for our day. He has such a great personality and a great talent of reading the room which is super important! One of my biggest fears was that I would end up not having anyone out on the dance floor and he definitely made sure that was not the case. DJ Willis is THE BEST. If you are seeking a DJ, look no further. From day one, Willis was the only DJ we were willing to have bring our wedding reception party to life. I can say with confidence that our wedding was the best day of my life, and we credit Willis with bringing the fun and the energy to what instantly became the best night of our lives. Willis made us feel comfortable and totally relaxed, and knowing we could trust him to bring our “vibe” and vision to the celebration allowed us to completely be in the moment. When we had to reschedule our wedding for a full year due to the pandemic, he was encouraging, positive, and accommodating of the change. Leading up to the wedding Willis was flexible and communicative, working with us out-of-staters to set up Zoom and phone calls to ensure all details were ironed out before the big day. The online client planning portal made it super easy to communicate all of our song choices for the big moments and request “must-plays” (and even “do not play” songs). Willis also reassured us that we didn’t have to plan out every single music choice - he took careful note of the kind of music we like and the overall feel of the wedding and the end result was a perfect reception. Prior to the wedding we shared with him that we listen to a lot of late 90s/early 2000s hip-hop, and Willis took our words to heart and created a killer dance party. Willis was fantastic at reading the energy of the crowd and seamlessly mixing in a variety of music that kept the party flowing. Our day-of coordinator told me that more people danced at our reception than at any other wedding she’d seen at our venue - every single person was on the dance floor! Our guests and our vendors raved about Willis, and our friends and family continue to tell me how much of a great time they had. Willis is genuine, positive, and an expert through and through at what he does. He was an absolute pleasure and a joy to work with and our reception could not have been more perfect, thanks to him. We cannot recommend him highly enough!

Willis is AMAZING! He worked with us through several reschedules (thanks Covid) and was always upbeat and supportive. He goes out of his way to make sure that the event is spectacular and fun, and kept people engaged and entertained. Plus he is just a fantastic person. Hire him and you'll get the best!

Where do I begin?! DJ Willis is THE best. I have worked with Willis for years in a professional capacity and have always been impressed so I knew from the start he was my top choice to DJ my wedding last weekend. Willis is more than a DJ, he is truly an artist. He reads the crowd, the event space and puts together music that perfectly fits the vibe at any given moment. He is personable & hilarious but also sincere & reverent when called for. He masterfully walks the line of being involved & making the party come to life, while not being overbearing or putting himself in the spotlight. My wedding ceremony & reception would not have been such a seamless, beautiful, incredible party without Willis. Even these words do not do him justice. I truly cannot praise Willis J Entertainment highly enough!

Darnell was the DJ at our wedding and he KILLED IT!!!! He did such an amazing job! All of our friends RAVED about him. He was super flexible about my forgetfulness the week of the wedding and put some last minute song requests in for walking down the aisle. He text me the morning of the wedding to remind me and gave me all the time I needed to decide. All I wanted for the wedding was for everyone to be on the dance floor. Darnell made sure that that was absolutely the case. We partied the night away and he was great!! Would recommend Willis J and his crowd for any event!!!!

Do not book for large event spaces. While Willis and Darnell were super nice on the phone we were so disappointed by the actual service we received. We could not hear any introductions and the Dj started playing the wrong song for our First Dance. We also never heard several of our "must play" songs. This was the only vendor that was not great at our wedding. We were so disappointed and did not think we would feel like this prior to the wedding after great conversations. They may be okay for small events but they do not have the equipment for large venues, even though we gave floor plans beforehand and they knew the space they would be working in. Everyone said our wedding was great except for the DJ. We were very disappointed at the services we received and would not recommend to anyone!

Willis was our star vendor! I cared more about music than any other details at our wedding and he absolutely nailed it. His method and platform for planning music ahead of your big day was perfect and allowed me to get as specific as I wanted. Then, on wedding day, he executed all of the elements we wanted perfectly. I was worried about having a DJ that talked too much (you know the ones...) but Willis said everything he needed to to keep the party going without trying to take the spotlight. I would hire him again for any event!

Willis was amazing! He put us at ease with his confidence in his talent and punctuality. Emails were responded to very quickly, regardless of the time of day they were sent. He checked in periodically to keep us up to date on his timeline and what he needed from us. He always made sure to see how we were feeling and that we didn't have any questions. We didn't have very much must play songs and mostly let him do his thing. The wedding was awesome. The dance floor was packed the whole night! I don't think we sat... except for toasts. There was a small hiccup with one of the songs, but he covered it so seamlessly that everyone thought it was planned. He lived up to his promise of "Don't worry about it! I got this!" If you want a packed dance floor and a personable, upbeat, happy DJ, Willis is your guy!

Willis was an invaluable asset to our wedding! He was extremely easy to work with and talk to. My wife and I love seeing people who are passionate about their work, and to say Willis is passionate is a vast understatement. He knows about every genre of music. He knows what songs sound good together, and is very good at reading the room and playing for the moment. Multiple people after our wedding came up to us and told us how awesome he was, and all we could say was "we know." My parents loved Willis, my groomsmen loved Willis, my mother in law loved Willis. He was very good about listening to us and being open to any new songs or ideas we had. Our dance floor was never empty, but the music wasn't so overwhelming that people felt like they couldn't talk to one another. My wife and I truly believe the biggest mistake you can make as far as hiring a DJ for your wedding is not hiring Willis. You will not find a better one in the Triangle!

2 months before our wedding, our original DJ bailed on us. We stopped hearing from him. It was stressful to say the least. Our wedding coordinators, Something Fabulous Weddings, Ashley & Trent, strongly suggested DJ Willis J Entertainment & we couldn't have ever been more thrilled!! Within minutes of me sending an email to DJ Willis explaining our dilemma, I received a call from him more than excited to help us out last minute! DJ Willis referred me to DJ Darnell, one of his DJ's & he was a BLAST! DJ Darnell was prompt with calling us a week before the wedding to better understand how we wanted our night to go & was AMAZING the night of the wedding!! He was fun, got the crowd on their feet (to the point where he couldn't get them to sit down!), & played the best variety playlist we could ask for! Everyone was on the dance floor ALL night! THANK YOU DJ Willis and DJ Darnell for stepping in at the last minute and for giving us the night of a lifetime! It was perfect!

DJ Willis ROCKS! Once you talk to him you will know right away that he knows how to run a party! He’s funny, outgoing, and all the things you want your DJ to be, while at the same time being professional relaxed and supportive. He doesn’t try to steal the show like I’ve seen some crazy DJs do, but he says just enough at just the right times to keep the crowd happy, dancing and laughing! He is a professional DJ that can play any part to any song at any time you want! He made my crazy dream of a complicated bridal party entrance run like it had been rehearsed for months! He keeps in touch with you through the time before you wedding, and has a great online system where you can put your requests, your “do not plays”(my fav!) and timeline! Don't think twice about booking Willis, it will be one of the best decisions you make planning your wedding! For a fraction of the cost he does what other larger DJ companies in the area do, and I can only imagine he does it better too, since his client service, communication, and TALENT would be hard to beat. He is so friendly, so responsive (seriously, like every email is responded to within 30 minutes or less responsive), and his enthusiasm for DJing is infectious. We had many guests comment about how great he was, and the dance party did not stop all night long. Booking him is one of my favorite decisions I made while wedding planning.

We hired Willis for our wedding and couldn't imagine a better experience. He was recommended by our photographer, and after just one conversation with him, we knew he'd be great. Compared to other DJs we (briefly) considered, his rates were much more reasonable, and it was clear that he loves what he does and makes every effort possible to make couples' days special.
