B Floral Event Design

I hired B. Florals Event Design to do the flowers for our wedding and have no regrets! Shelly is absolutely fabulous to work with and has impeccable taste. After talking with several other floral designers in the DC area, I found her prices to be similar, however, as of this review, Shelly doesn’t have a set minimum. The latter was wonderful news since we weren’t having a bridal party. After meeting with Shelly and seeing more of her designs, I knew I wanted to work with her. Shelly took the time to listen to my ideas and help bring my vision to life seamlessly all the while staying within our budget. She was very professional and quick to respond to any of my questions. My only request was for bright, bold flowers with interesting texture, and Shelly designed exactly that. Shelly attended our walk-through one month prior to our wedding, which I truly appreciated because I wanted to add a floral design down the staircase. Shelly was more than happy to do this. The day of the wedding the flowers were delivered and set up on time, which was great because my husband and I were doing a first look elsewhere. I have a few friends who are flower fanatics so are centerpieces did not go to waste and were taken home. Shelly’s attention to detail and unmatched expertise in aesthetics will never disappoint. My jaw DROPPED when I saw the ceremony and reception site. Shelly went above and beyond even the vision I had in my head. She constructed the most beautiful floral arch that people were staring at all night. I said the word “dramatic” for a centerpiece for the escort cards and I was amazed when I saw what she had made - absolute perfection. I asked for Jackie Kennedy inspired garland and it was exactly what I had wanted. She got everything down to the detail. I had people all night asking who did the flowers! Absolutely everything was perfect and beautiful. I can’t recommend Shelly enough - for her ability, her vision, creativity and professional, but also for the fact that is friendly, approachable and a joy to work with.

Shelly was the best florist that I could have chosen for my wedding. She does BEAUTIFUL work with her bouquets and centerpieces. Its no wonder that she has rave reviews. I showed her a picture of a centerpiece that I wanted for my wedding, and when she made me a sample, I was blown away- she had made my centerpiece look much more beautiful than the one in the picture that I showed her. My bridal bouquet was one of my favorite things about my wedding. Shelly is very knowledgeable, talented and creative. Just tell her what your idea is, and she'll make something beautiful of it, within your budgt. She is also such a sweet woman and very flexible, so this made her a pleasure to work with. I must have emailed her a total of 15 times during my wedding planning process, each time requesting a change or asking her opinion on a design, and she always responded very quickly and accomodated my requests. All of my guests raved about my wedding flowers and I still rave about them when I look through pictures. Thank you, shelly!

Shelly made our wedding beautiful. To begin, she was wonderful to work with and incredibly helpful. When we first met with Shelly, we gave her a brief description of what we wanted - we gave her some color scheme ideas, but nothing specific regarding flower type. She took our small ideas and turned them into a truly beautiful wedding. She was budget conscious and was helpful in finding ways to bring the cost down while not sacrificing appearance.

I had the pleasure of working with Shelly for my wedding a few weeks ago. I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by some amazing vendors and Shelly was certainly no exception! From start to finish the service I received was simply phenomenal. From our initial meeting, I was hooked. She seemed to truly understand what I wanted and was able to instantly help me figure out the pieces I hadn't quite figured out yet. From a single picture, she was able to create the exact look and feel I was going for with our floral arrangements. From the large stunning niche arrangements, to the gorgeous branches and lights on our tables, to the single flowers atop our cake - everything was flawless. I have received so many compliments on all of our florals including how incredibly fresh they all smelled and looked. Shelly was amazing throughout the whole process and was more than flexible with the MANY changes I made throughout the year of planning. Always willing to make suggestions and find a way to make my vision work all within my budget. I would absolutely recommend Shelly to anyone planning a wedding in the DC area. You won't be disappointed!

very pleasant to work with

Shelly was overall great! She was very sweet, flexible and easy to work with despite me living in Chicago and my mom living in MD. She was also very willing to work within our budget, making suggestions as needed and never pushy. I know flowers can be tricky to deal with in the middle of summer, but my only slight disappointment was the fact that some of the groomsmen boutonnieres looked a bit droopy and a few of the roses in the bridesmaid bouquets were wilting. But otherwise, all of the flower arrangements looked great. The centerpieces especially were stunning and helped make the entire reception look come together.

Shelly was easily one of my favorite vendors to work with for my wedding. She is a lovely person! She really spent time with us before the wedding to be sure that she had the right idea of what we wanted. She also has great taste and made polite suggestions to enhance our ideas (or reign them in if necessary)! She is extremely reasonably priced as well, very very good value for such wonderful work! She was very quick to respond whenever I'd contact her and on time and very professional at all of our meetings. I loved working with her!

I loved working with Shelly. She was respectful of my budget and offered suggestions to help me maximize my resources. She was also very accommodating when I kept tweaking the plans. On the big day, I was blown away by her work. The flowers were so beautiful, tastefully done, exactly what I asked for, and yet somehow even better than I imagined. The rose she selected for my hair was so exquisite that several people asked whether it was real! I highly recommend her.
