Back Home Catering

r than expected, so we allowed guests to eat before we even had our pictures taken. To put this in perspective, it was a 30 minute time difference from when food was supposed to be served. For a wedding, things happen and run over, and it should be expected. We paid over $2000 for 120 adults and 20 children, which isn’t bad, BUT, apparently the caterers didn’t tell the adults or even separate the kids food from the adults food, so all of the adults took the chicken tenders and macaroni thinking that is what we are serving, since it was in the start of the buffet line. Needless to say- the picky eaters were unable to eat because of it. Fast forward to when I’m done taking pictures an hour later. They have to leave because of another wedding BUT I paid for them to serve the cake with a check they had already cashed. None of us had even eaten yet and were rushed to cut the cake so they could serve it. We didn’t have time to do our introductions, or actually eat. We had to run in and cut it which was absolutely heartbreaking because It’s a tradition, right? Because my husband was in charge of setting up times I asked if they ever gave us an end time… and the answer was simply no. Had they had communicated an end time with us we could have adjusted picture times to be able to enjoy the food and the actual tradition of cutting the cake instead of rushing around and not doing things the “right” way. I ended up basically crying afterwards at the front with my dinner because it felt like nothing was going right. While I understand the start time was later than expected, it should have been communicated from the beginning if they were not going to stay longer than a couple of hours. Had the catering situation gone better, I probably wouldn’t have had the stress tears falling while trying to pretend everything is okay. I’m absolutely heartbroken and disappointed with how it was all handled today, and I can assure you I will search for a different caterer in the future.
