I cannot say enough amazing things about Backcountry Bohemians. We purchased an engagement+wedding package where she shot both sessions about 1 year apart. Here are some of the highlights of my experience with our photographer, now lifelong friend, Devin. Engagement Shoot: Devin flew to Nashville after we relocated to do a multi-site engagement shoot all in one day. We did a mini hike with our fur babies and then hopped in the car and took a drive out to a lake. We missed the cutoff time to rent kayak's to get out to the waterfall we wanted to shoot at, so working creatively, we convinced them to let us rent a boat, throw the kayaks on the boat, and kayak once we hit shallow water to anchor in. One problem; we needed a boaters license. "I have a boater's license", Devin says. OF COURSE SHE DOES (sighs of relief and shock all around). So we hopped in the boat, then kayas, FULL hair & makeup, and VERY large dress stuffed in dry bags, Devin was able to capture the golden hour photos of fairytales. Wedding Support: Without Devin, my wedding vision would not have happened. I knew my goal of achieving a free-spirit-Moroccan-boho-semiPNW vibe was going to be kind of hard to achieve. But Devin was no stranger to my vision. She not only knew the photos I wanted to capture, but she literally built and compiled and hauled backdrops, arranged florals, and even drove WELL (talking hours here) out of her way to pick up my cake....because she cared that much about helping my vision come alive. I talked to Devin more than my own planner, and am so lucky to have had her supporting us at each exciting, stressful, fast paced moment. Wedding Shoot: During my consultation with Devin before we signed the contract, she told me very clearly "I am going to be in everyone's face and be part of your family by the time I am done". She fit in like a girlfriend I've had forever. My friends, family, and new in-laws all fell in love with her wit, energy, situational awareness, fire-cracker remarks, and appreciated her deep understanding of my vision. Devin captured photos you see in magazines and her warm editing style is something that is both timeless and SO on-trend. At this point, I can't imagine any other photographer capturing our wedding, because they would never have gotten some of the shots that Devin did.... Post-Services: I received a bunch of sneak peak photos about 5 days after our wedding. O-M-G they were gorgeous. I couldn't wait to get the rest! I got the rest of our photos a handful of weeks after that, and there were SO many to choose from for gifts and memories for all of my family and close friends. 6 months later (and many texts in between) Devin reaches out to ask if she can submit our photos to Seattle Bride magazine to be one of the 2 weddings featured in their Spring/Summer edition. OF COURSE GIRL YES PLEASE! 1 month after that I get a facetime from her basically screaming in excitement. "WE'RE GETTING PUBLISHED" she yelled! So catch us in Seattle Bride magazine's Spring/Summer edition on stands June 6th 2023 <3 Devin, I cannot say this enough; WITHOUT YOU, MY WEDDING COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED THE WAY IT DID. YOU, YES YOU, MADE OUR WEDDING DREAMS COME TRUE. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We love you endlessly.

Devin shot our engagement photos, and I couldn’t be happier! Her style is unlike any other, and I promise you she is the easiest person to work with ever; such a carefree spirit. We felt comfortable immediately, and her vision is so solid - she knows exactly what she’s doing and welcomes your input also. She captured our love so, so well. If you’re looking for someone who you can trust to do an above and beyond job on your photos, who really cares about the details, Backcountry Bohemians is the best choice! Can’t wait for her to shoot our wedding later this year!
