Backcountry Vows

We can't thank Backcountry Vows enough for capturing our big day! Holden and Kaylyn are amazing. Their detail and creativity did not go unnoticed, and their talent is unmatched. From the very beginning stages of planning we hit it off. They are so prompt in responding to emails, and extremely easy to talk to and get to know! On our "get to know you" video call we connected right away with our shared love for Colorado, the outdoors, and our pets! As a complimentary addition to our video package they took us on an engagement shoot. In addition to hours of back and forth emails just figuring out the perfect spot, they also dedicated an entire day to take us snowshoeing through the mountains. And of course the video turned out better than we could have imagined. On our wedding day they went above and beyond, running around all day long to capture as many details and special moments as possible. If you are looking for a dream team to be a part of your wedding day look no further! :)

Unfortunately we had a pretty disappointing experience with Holden and Kaylyn. I will say - if you’re looking for a highlight film they’re likely great especially seeing the other reviews and at first they were awesome to work with. However we were open about how we wanted to capture as much as possible, comparing it to our parents home wedding videos. We did get this for the ceremony but the result was either shakey or a straight view from the tripod and you could not hear our friend singing or even see her as they did not turn the camera. The most disappointing part was that we have close to no footage from our reception. When we followed up about this they were extremely unprofessional, pointed to specifics of our contract and only communicated through social media stating at first that we’d have to pay more for additional footage. They were defensive and made us feel guilty about thinking pieces were missing. Eventually they did apologize after days of back and forth and provided the footage they had which was missing audio from parts we discussed. Our favorite part of our reception was the amazing band and we don’t have any footage with that audio more than a few seconds which was mismatched to the visual. They tried to make it right by creating a highlight video from the reception but again, completely missing the band audio and had one random song over the video. For some footage they eventually found audio after telling us they didn’t have it but it took some long conversations to get that. We were excited to look back on this part of the night and don’t have anything like we had hoped. We feel like we don’t have much to share with our families outside of the ceremony and unfortunately to get anything more we’d have to pay for a full highlight film and I can’t imagine throwing more money about it since we can’t go back and capture the moments we’re missing. I feel like we got about 50% of what we had hoped and that mixed with their reaction was what we ultimately can’t get past. Hopefully with some time this will change for future couples. If you’re looking for something more than just a highlight film, I’d say pay the extra bit and go with someone more experienced.

Holden and Kaylyn are incredibly talented and fun to work with! They have amazing ideas and work hard to make your video exactly what you dream of! They were were the perfect videographers, making sure to get great shots but didn't get in the way of the actual wedding. We cannot thank them enough for our beautiful videos! It is so fun watching them and reliving our perfect day!

Royal Oak Films is AMAZING. Super fun to work with, easy going, and incredibly talented. When I first started planning our wedding, I wasn't sure I needed a videographer and I was 100% incorrect. You NEED a videographer to capture all of the little, amazing moments throughout the day and Royal Oak Films does just that. I cannot recommend them enough.

Royal Oak Films did a wonderful job with our daughter's wedding video. It's truly the best wedding video we've ever seen. They captured all the perfect moments and the personalities of our daughter, her husband and how much they love each other. Kaylyn and Holden were very kind and sweet to work with, too! We highly recommend them!

We are so lucky that we found Holden and Kaylyn for our wedding video! They are the both the nicest (and coolest) people, yet also such professionals! They made sure they knew what we wanted beforehand so there was no stress on our wedding day. We had our videos back within two weeks. The films were perfect, unique, and definitely reflected the most important parts of our wedding day and our relationship. Holden and Kaylyn were beyond great! We went in to hiring a videographer not knowing much of what we wanted and were super last minute when booking, but they were both so amazing with guidance and made the entire process super smooth. Since we were having a destination wedding and are from out of state, we had to arrange everything by phone and email, but their professionalism reassured us that we were in good hands. Since we were pretty open to ideas we let them have full control and we were left in awe! The beautiful attention to detail and creativity was just simply amazing. The day of the wedding they arrived early and got straight to work! Our wedding coordinator and wedding party absolutely loved them and thought so highly of them! After our wedding they kept in contact with us and delivered our videos within 2 weeks! We LOVE our videos and have gotten so much good feedback from our family and friends! If I could give Kaylyn and Holden 10 stars on here I would. Not only is there work AMAZING, they are awesome people to work with and to hangout with! I was blown away at their creativity in creating our engagement video. I think we’ve watched it 100 times because we love it so much. I would HIGHLY recommend booking this couple for an engagement video. It’s such a unique concept and their work is beautiful.

We love our final video that Royal Oak Films made for us! Holden was a pleasure to work with and together the team got some incredibly professional and well put together shots. It really speed the beauty, love and fun of our day and our marriage.

Where to even begin! Holden (Royaloak Films) is AMAZING. I seriously will never be able to thank him enough for all his work. He showed up early and got great shots before we got there. He captured amazing moments of us and our families. I never told him before but I wanted it to show a lot of our family becoming one and he did that. He was so great to work with as well. He is very professional and courteous in his direction and is always ready to listen to your ideas. If anyone is on the fence about a videographer I would say “Schedule now with Royaloaks!!” You seriously won’t regret that you did. I will never be able to thank him enough for all he did for us on our special day!

Holden was awesome. Showed up early and got right to work. He did everything we wanted...(what the wife said...😉) He was very easy to work with. He was great at not being overbearing but then somehow would magically show up to catch the best moment. My personal favorite thing though was my wife showed me a bunch of work from videographers and they just looked like slide shows to me. His video was a 10 min clip of a Hollywood movie starring me... JK. It was my wife and she looked amazing and Holden showed her off for me. But seriously. His work is amazing. Reasonably priced. And if you pass him up I promise you are missing out big-time on a huge part of your life.

Holden was absolutely amazing! He captured every moment perfectly and went above and beyond without ever being asked! It was so easy working with him and he had such great ideas and got amazing shots. He really made everything about us and took care of everything! The time and care that he put into our wedding video was top notch and we are so happy that Royal Oak Films was there to capture our perfect day! If you need a videographer go with Royal Oak Films and I promise you won't be disappointed!
