We will cherish our video forever and are so grateful that we hired him! I mean, can you really get any better than Kyle?! His films are absolutely STUNNING and I have honestly never seen any other wedding films like his! I honestly was originally not going to hire a wedding videographer because, like many other couples, I thought I didn’t need one. Boy, was I wrong!! I am SO thankful that I decided to hire a videographer and I absolutely would have regretted it had I not. So far, I have only gotten back my 1 minute sneak peak, and I have probably watched and shared that video a million times. It is not only amazing getting to relive that day, but Kyle has a way of capturing the day that just makes me remember all of the emotions that I felt too! Kyle himself is also fantastic. He is very calm and laid back, yet brought so much energy and fun to my day that I won’t forget. He was super responsive and professional, and he worked amazingly with my photographer (someone he had only met once, years before) - watching them work together was like watching magic happen! Kyle is the best and I would definitely recommend hiring him, but he doesn’t need my review. His videos speak for themselves! I cannot say enough good things about Kyle! My husband and I hired him for our wedding on 7/15/22 and I could not be happier with our choice. Not only was the content Kyle delivered amazing, he is SUCH a good hype man. It was important to us that the vendors we hired who would be with us for most of the day were fun to be around/good vibes, and we are so happy that Kyle was there for our day. We initially signed our contract for his base package, but ended up upgrading everything the day after the wedding because we knew how talented he is. Kyle was an absolute pleasure to work with from the start! He had great communication leading up to the wedding. He made me and my husband feel totally comfortable and coached us when needed to get the best shots. We postponed our original big wedding, and kyle came to our minimony to shoot it for us and sent us a perfect highlight video. We ended up having to switch venues when our original one stopped hosting weddings after covid, and kyle was completely onboard with all the new dates and new venue. When he came for our big wedding, he brought his brother Julian, who was also extremely professional and easy to work with. He stayed for the entirety of our wedding and captured every moment. We got the highlight video within 2 months and it is incredible! He combined footage from both our minimony and our big wedding day. All our family and friends have raved about his professionalism and talent. We would highly recommend!

Kyle was wonderful to work with! After a year of wedding planning chaos thanks to the covid pandemic, he was a reliable breath of fresh air through it all. Kyle generates truly outstanding wedding videos and he was very easy to work with. At the wedding and following reception Kyle took video's everywhere and yet was very unobtrusive. Kyle was great very attentive and I didn't even notice he was there at the ceremony and he got amazing video. He worked very well with my photographer and it was an incredible experience. We loved all of our vendors (Faith Dugan, Take it to the Bridge, Newport Limo, Hana Floral, Ryan Designs, Details & Swirls), but Kyle and Backstory Wedding Films may have been our favorite. We loved him as soon as we met months before the wedding, and were thrilled with his communication during the (stressful) months leading up to the wedding date. Kyle came to the rehearsal dinner sunset sail with a drone, and got some of the best shots I’ve ever seen. His skill and experience with the camera are equaled only by his personality, you’ll feel like he’s an invited guest and genuinely enjoy his company (ROSES). He released a 1 minute teaser video THE DAY AFTER the wedding (dedication), and it absolutely blew everyone’s mind who watched it. I could not be happier with the results of Kyle’s work! I don’t even want to admit how many times I have already watched the video in the week that I’ve had it (far too many to count)! The video that Kyle made perfectly captured our day. I highly recommend selecting Kyle as your wedding day videographer. On top of the amazing video he developed, he was helpful through the planning process, was on time the day of the wedding, and was fun to be around, which I think is important for someone who will be following you with a camera for a good part of your big day! We cannot recommend Kyle and his team any higher than that. If we had to do it all over again, Backstory films would remain a repeat vendor! Not only did they capture everything that was special to us (speeches, toasts, etc), but they also caught little moments that we would never have even been remembered without our film. "Easy to work with" is an understatement. They interacted beautifully with our photographer and her team, with our event staff, and even our guests! Kyle made it easy to be filmed - no intrusive lights or scripted directions - the final product is so simply "us" that we felt we were re-living the day all over again. When we began the wedding planning process it was completely overwhelming. The #1 thing we debated about was if a videographer was in the budget and if it was worth it. Ultimately, we decided no and months later we revisited the idea as we did not want to miss out on any detail . I researched local videographers and found Backstory by Boulay and we instantly decided that YES this was so worth it! Kyle’s cinematic style was exactly what I dreamed of and I watched each video he had posted about a million times - cried from being filled with love and joy, and then watched each one about a million more times! When we met with Kyle he explained everything and understood the stress as he had also just recently gotten married. Fast forward months later and Kyle’s work just kept amazing us and we knew we had made the right decision. The day of the wedding Kyle was extremely respectful to all of our guests, wedding party and other vendors. He details everything so perfectly beginning w/ drone footage, bridal/groom prep to ceremony/reception, everything! Also, major fear on your wedding day...bad weather.. well Kyle embraced it by filming the rain drops and it made the video even more beautiful. My husband didn't want a video but now has watched it more than I have and says he's so glad we did it. From the moment we met Kyle, we knew we wanted to hire him for our wedding this past July. John and I spent hours watching all of the wedding videos on his website, while getting sucked in to each and every love story. It was exactly what we were looking for in a videographer. I wasnt totally convinced i wanted a videographer for my wedding but after talking to some people who said they wished they had one i decided to hire Kyle. Best decision ever ! Kyle is a master at his craft and was so easy to work with ! Extremely easy going and fit right in with my groom and I. Making jokes and making us feel totally comfortable.
