Bad Habit

planning. Then one day, I was on my way to work when I saw their billboard on the interstate. I came home that day and my wife had told me she had seen them being interviewed on one of the local afternoon television talk shows. We swapped stories and knew it was more than a coincidence. We went to see them at Stickyz in Little Rock, AR and it was an impeccable rock and roll performance. They sounded excellent, were well-rehearsed, and certainly looked the part. As a musician myself, one thing I appreciated was that it was totally live, meaning they weren’t using tracks to make themselves sound better or to make up for instruments they didn’t have people to play. Authentic and top notch. Since it was for our wedding, we wanted to see them outside of a club setting, so we actually attended the Ballet Arkansas Turning Pointe Gala, which was a huge, very fancy fundraising event in the big ballroom at Robinson Center overlooking the river. We knew this would be more in line to what we wanted for our wedding, so we wanted to check it out. The guys were excellent. They started with an acoustic set while people were eating so it wouldn’t be too loud while guests socialized. These guys can sing their butts off too and I was really impressed with their harmonies. I’d recommend asking about this if you want them playing before the dancing starts. Once people were done eating, they kicked into full gear with their electric guitars and got everyone on the dance floor. We saw people from all ages dancing to their set and it was just a blast. I will add that their sound gear (again, I’m a musician too) was top of the line, as were their lights. They also had someone actively mixing their sound who I spoke to a great deal afterwards. They also swapped out their "rock and roll attire” for black suits to match the formal event, which they also did for our wedding. Nice touch. We hired them soon afterwards and I’m glad we asked in advance because these guys are booked so often! I sorta stepped out of the groomsmen room to watch them setup. They were at the venue and had a super professional and speedy load in/setup process that had them ready and sound checked in no time. They then left to go change into their suits and came back about an hour before the reception, ready to rock and roll. I will say, I was a bit timid at first because these guys are mainly a rock group that does a lot of the classic rock kinda songs, and we have a lot of friends that love country. We were pleased to see that their master list (which we got to select songs from) included not only plenty of country, but also pop and some R&B, as well as some of those classic wedding standards. My wife and I grew up in the early 2000’s, so we were pumped to see that they had a lot of stuff from that era as well. My wife literally teared up when she saw her mobility-limited grandmother on the dance floor rocking out. What made it even more special is my wife and I’s "song” is a bit of an obscure song that hardly anyone knows. These guys learned it per our request and sounded phenomenal. I could go on, but do yourself a favor and book Bad Habit. These guys are rockstars and you won’t be sorry. Worth every penny, they even gave us a handwritten thank you note. Who does that? Bad Habit ROCKS!
