About this vendor
Baked is all about bringing forward and updating American classics, and we've specialized in the three-layer, buttercream cake, which is (in our opinion) the perfect balance of taste and aesthetic. Opening in Brooklyn in 2005, we've baked off hundreds of wedding cakes, and the only thing we like more than making them is the pictures the happy couples share with us (find some of them in our gallery!)
With a wide range of options for both desserts and favors, and a serious dedication to producing beautiful and delicious cakes, we'd be honored for a fresh Baked cake to be part of your special day.

We ordered the Little Devil and the Citrus Passionfruit cakes to serve for dessert at our wedding, and they were absolutely delicious! We loved them, and our guests raved about them.
We had our wedding cake made by Baked and it was a big hit! After tasting cakes from a few vendors, we picked Baked because it tasted far better than all the others. So many wedding cakes taste like their main goal is just to look pretty, but Baked’s cakes do both! We loved the variety of choices and settled on Passionfruit, which was inspired by a recent trip to St. Lucia. The cake was beautiful and it really worked well with our design and color vibe!
Highly recommend working with Baked NYC for your wedding dessert needs. We had a fantastic time working with Annemarie and the team from the very beginning (and it was a long time due to multiple COVID delays). Annemarie put us at ease from the beginning during the tasting and throughout the rest of the process/ultimate wedding delivery. There were so many wonderful flavors to choose from that we went with 4 cake flavors for our guests and got rave reviews on ALL of them! We also got Black and White cookies as favors for welcome drinks party, which we also fantastic. Thank you so much for the wonderful customer service and for being such a sweet part of our special day!
If you care about your cake, and want it to be equal parts gorgeous and delicious, choose Baked NYC. They came recommended to us from our vendor Brooklyn Winery, who was 100% on point with their recommendation. After our tasting with Annemarie, we were almost overwhelmed by the amount of delicious flavors to choose from. Ultimately, we decided to go with two -- the chocolate salted caramel and strawberry supreme -- both of which were equally incredible. I've been to so many weddings where the cake is an afterthought, and remains half-eaten on plates. That was NOT the case at my wedding. Guests were trying both flavors to compare, and telling me how much they enjoyed both. I will be going back to Baked as soon as I can for another slice of the chocolate salted caramel. It was so moist and had such a rich flavor, I can't even put it into words. Thank you Annemarie and all the staff at Baked NYC!
The wedding cake and grooms cake were delicious!! I am still dreaming about it!
Annemarie was very accommodating in last minute cake changes. I switched the flavor of the grooms cake a couple of weeks before the wedding.
The cakes arrive on time. The wedding cake was so pretty with the fresh flowers as decor.
We had a Zoom wedding, and even though we had no guests, we still wanted a cake - small yet traditional, and of course delicious. Baked did not disappoint! We mostly worked with Betty, who was extremely responsive and helpful. We did 2 flavors for our 2 tier cake, the bottom (bigger) tier was red velvet with cream cheese icing between the layers - and OMG is it good! It has actually sparked the first bickering with the wife because I can’t stop eating it! The top tier is traditional yellow cake, which we are freezing until our first anniversary (though I am very tempted to pull it out and sample it).
Looks wise, we just had them send it to us plain as the florist who decorated our apt for the ceremony provided matching florals for the cake - but even plain it was beautiful. We were nervous it might get smudged during the delivery process, but it came absolutely perfect.
Without question, we are happy with our choice to have Baked make our cake. Highly recommend!
Most scrumptious cake in New York City! TONS of flavors to choose from and so many design options. We ended up choosing three tiers each with a different flavor and frosting plus a regular 10" cake to supplement for our guests. The tasting was $35 but with it came 8 regular sized cupcakes, plus two full slices of cake which we ended up taking home afterward. Delivery and presentation were easy and perfect. Go to their Red Hook location and schedule a tasting; it was divine!
Annemarie and Baked did an amazing job with our wedding cake and dessert bar! They were extremely helpful in making recommendations and accommodating our requests. Our guests raved about the cake flavors (vanilla w/ cookies and cream filled, carrot cake) as well as the unique cookies/bars. I highly recommend Baked NYC!
Baked and Annemarie were AMAZING. My wedding cake was everything I could have ever wanted and tasted amazing. We did a cake tasting with a ton of different flavors in cupcake form at their RedHook location a month before the wedding. The cake was delivered to our reception location perfectly and on time and looked beautiful. I cannot say enough about Annemarie and Baked. We will be visiting on our one year anniversary to recreate our wedding cake!
If you are someone who wants that "beautiful and elegant" wedding cake, this is not the place to look. When I saw my very ...sad looking cake at the cake cutting...I was very embarrassed. We had a small 30 person wedding and didn't want a large tiered cake but... I did want it to at least look nice. I asked for woodsy whimsical...what I got was two large twigs (one shooting straight from the top and the other on the side), a succulent and withered leaves sparsely placed. A week before the wedding I was asked for a second time what I would like my cake to look like. I sent some photos...stupidly saying "It doesn't have to be exactly this. Please use for general inspiration". I don't know how they let this go out the door. They are affordable but if the wedding cake is important to you I would not chance it on this place. I will try to post the picture somewhere so you all can see that I am not exaggerating. Please be aware when booking this place. Hope this review saves someone from an embarrassing mistake.
Annmarie was great! My cake was perfect!!! Ty so much
Most delicious and easy-on-the-budget decision EVER. Everyone was RAVING about how delicious our cakes (we ended up choosing two flavors because we just couldn't decide) were! Friends who never eat wedding cake were wanting seconds! The people at Baked are also wonderfully amazing, helpful, and accommodating. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Absolutely fantastic! The head decorator, Annemarie, was amazing and understood just what we wanted. We ended up getting a 3 tiered cake (with 2 different flavors) and a sheet cake (with a third flavor) to cut up in the back to feed more people. All three flavors were delicious. Our guests still can't stop talking about it. And the prices are very reasonable.
We wanted simple, delicious, affordable wedding cakes and that is exactly what we got with Baked. We got 3 different cakes (that folks still tell us were incredibly delicious) and it was perfect and I could not recommend them more. They are also super queer friendly, so added bonus for their long term stance on same sex weddings!
I lived in Brooklyn while in college and would visit Red Hook for one thing: Baked. This was pre-Ikea and there wasn’t really anything else there and this was many years before their Tribeca location. I remember sitting there with my (now) husband while we watched another couple have their cake tasting for their wedding. That was nearly 10 years ago and I knew exactly what I wanted to do for our wedding. The cake tasting was literally my dream come true and we had plenty to choose from. Our wedding was very far from NYC, but Baked arranged delivery to the middle of nowhere in Jersey. We booked 1 wedding cake, and had 5 supplemental cakes. I wanted my guests to see the beautiful arrangement of cakes that you would see when walking into Baked. Needless to say, the cakes were a hit. There’s nothing like sharing one of your very favorite things in the world with the people you love!
My wife and I used Baked for our wedding cake and party favors and we could not have been happier. I agree with the reviewer who said that the cupcakes were drier and not equivalent in flavor to the the wedding cake flavor, that their wedding cake was better. But the tasting is still great as you can let them know if you have a specific cake flavor that you want to try in advance and they'll accommodate you. they give you one slice of cake and then a bunch of cupcakes. Additionally you get shown a variety of cake designs (some included in the rate, some are an extra fee) that they have done. We wanted a chocolate+PB cake, so we chose their oopsy daisy flavor. For the party favors we chose the campfire cookie. We received praise on both. I have a friend who doesn't like peanut butter at all and he loved the cake. If you want a cake that has that fondant look where you can do elaborate designs of all sorts of shapes, but it tastes like someone threw sugar and robitussin into your mouth, this is not the choice for you. But if you're fine with a buttercream cake, they can still accomplish a lot with the cake and no one is going to be leaving the frosting to the side on their plates. They have a lot of options based on your budget and party size. They deliver and they're very responsive. Every time we made an adjustment to our order, they provided us an updated invoice. Highly recommend them!
There are brides who dream about their wedding cakes and earmark a large portion of their budget for them. That was not me.
After a few excruciating phone calls with a few bakers about “my vision” I wanted to barf sprinkles all over their stand mixers. I wanted a cake that tasted delicious, a design that was simple and playful, and something that wasn’t overly feminine (it’s not just my wedding - it’s my husband’s too). I love funfetti cake and had put a few rainbow cakes on my Pinterest board, and when my husband looked over my shoulder one day and said, “funfetti would be fun,” that was all the permission I needed.
We went for a tasting in their Red Hook location on a cold, sunny winter day, talked to the baker about their capabilities, their flavors, and tried a ton of different cupcakes - taking whatever we didn’t finish home, along with a little brownie gift! They were attentive and helpful about portion sizes, didn’t try to upsell (our venue provided donuts and cupcakes, so we didn’t want to go too nuts on the amount of cake). Our cake was adorable and perfect and there were no issues getting it there or keeping it intact. It was bigger than I imagined, and very reasonably priced compared to all the lah-dee-dah nonsense that had me cringing before. All our guests who had some said it was fantastic, and it looked great in photos.
A few months ago I saw the Baked cookbook at the Brooklyn Museum shop, and swooned over the thought of making our cake myself. For someone who wasn’t really into the wedding cake thing, I realized Baked had made me really into our cake. Thank you for being the exact baker we needed.
My wife and I absolutely loved having Baked for our wedding cake and cupcakes. Jordan was great to work with; he was very caring and attentive and treated us so well. We chose to have a small wedding cake for us to cut and then had 6 different cupcake flavors for our desert table. I loved being able to have so many different flavors and our guests loved the options. I am so glad that we were able to work with the amazing people at Baked!
We used Baked as our wedding cake vendor and we were floored from the moment we first had our tasting. The cakes were INCREDIBLE and we decided to have SIX cakes for a Cake Buffet. Our guests could not stop raving about the Tricolor cake and our wedding cake was so stunning. The textures, colors, and flavors were to die for. I have never seen cake enjoyed so much at a wedding as ours. Thank you so much Baked!
Everyone at Baked (at both locations) was so wonderful to work with. My husband and I went with my parents for our first tasting and were given so many different cupcakes to try. A few months later, when we were still undecided about one of the flavors, my mom and I stopped by and were treated so well once again. Their range of flavors was great, we chose 4 different kinds of cupcakes for our 150 person wedding.
We used Baked as our main wedding cake for our wedding reception. Overall they did a great job and we would use them again in a second. The contact in the beginning was extremely prompt and detailed and we were able to effortlessly schedule a cake tasting,
A word on the cake tasting. This would be my ONLY critique but it in NO way would merit any reduction in my praise in them. The modality they use to provide samples is in cupcake form. You can try any flavor available and eat an excessive number of cupcakes if you'd like, this is all good. What I would warn any future tasters about is that the cupcakes tend to be a little more muted in flavor and a little dry compared to the wedding cake. We made our choices with confidence, but we were worried about if the cake would be a little on the dry side. Fortunately this was as far from the truth as possible as our wedding cake was moist and delicious and exploded with flavor that was otherwise a little muted in the cupcake (likely because the ganache or fruit filling is only existent in the center of the cupcake). Take away point: the tasting will undersell you on the quality of the finished product.
The presentation wedding cake was decorated beautiful and delicious, and the larger cake was also delicious as well. Our experience booking and going through the tasting was excellent. The cakes were delivered to the venue and were beautiful. The finished product tasted great. This was an excellent experience and I would use them again.
Jordan was fantastic! We were the first wedding collab with Baked and City Winery, and he made it smooth and delicious! The tasting was so much fun! The guests were wild about the cupcakes, and our little personal wedding cake was beautiful and delicious. I am picky about baked goods - not all cakes are created equal! But it is taking all my willpower not to eat the cupcakes living in my freezer for the next year. Thank you Jordan and Baked!
We have been devotees of Baked for years, and so when the time came to pick a vendor for the cake, we knew who to call. And right from the beginning our experience with Jordan, the events manager, couldn’t have been better. He organized a tasting at their Tribeca location where we were given a tray of one of every kind of cupcake they have so we could try all the flavors! Needless to say it was an incredible experience. We ended up ordering a small wedding cake along with a huge dessert spread of all kinds of cookies, bars, brownies, cupcakes to go along with it. We thought for sure that we had ordered way too much, and were going to end up with a ton of leftovers, but at the end of the night, there was barely anything left! We had a bit of almost everything at our wedding, and it was all ridiculously delicious. I’m so glad we went with Baked -- Jordan made everything simple and easy, and everything went off without a hitch, and tasted amazing. We only wish that we could get married again so we could have that tasting again!
Jordan was amazing at our cake tasting. We were able to try a tray of cupcakes and a slice of white cake. He was generous enough to let us take a couple of extra goodies. Our quote came in at a really great price, for what you can expect in NYC. We will definitely be ordering. This is our go-to dessert spot as a couple, so really very excited.
Our gorgeous three tiered wedding cake was absolutely stunning and incredibly delicious. We also ordered some small whoopie pies, and a few other of their delicious desserts and people LOVED them. They are so lovely to work with and their desserts are absolutely delicious. I can't recommend them enough!
We ordered four different flavors and each one was delicious. Every time I took a bite I kept saying "so good, so good" The cake part was springy and light while the frosting wasn't too sweet that your teeth hurt. We also ordered 2 of their bars which were also very good. When asked if the cupcakes needed to be refrigerated before the reception, Jordan didn't hesitate and immediately added a note to the order. Very easy to work with.
We had Baked make the cake for our wedding and were thrilled with the outcome! From start to finish, working with Jordan was a real pleasure. The tasting was fun and extremely helpful, and the final result was a BEAUTIFUL and absolutely delicious cake. Our guests raved about it, and we are so thrilled with our decision!
Jordan is normally the point person (for the Bklyn location anyway) for weddings and events and he's a pleasure to work with. He sat down with us during booking, brought out a tray of 12 full-sized cupcakes in an assortment of flavors and let us go to town eating them all! They were so amazing, we stood in the incredibly long line to buy more to take home with us.
The prices were very decent (compared to other places we've considered INCLUDING TRAVEL/DELIVERY) and I can honestly say that no other bakery can make cake quite like Baked. On our search we were consistently disappointed thinking we would never find a great baker (we're cake snobs - I would have baked my own if I had the time). Then I found a little snippet in the NYT featuring this gem, and the rest is history :)
We also ordered chocolate whoopee pies through them as our favors (paired them with individual glass coke bottles and a striped straw) everybody loved them! Heard rave reviews all night. Just wished I would have ordered more!
We wanted a dessert table with multiple cakes and other pastries. Jordan was great and suggested getting assorted brownies and have them quartered. We were even able to get my favorite, strawberry shortcake, right on time as they did not have the cake before. Our guests loved the cakes and brownies with many going back for seconds and third servings. My only regret is not having enough time to try them all! We recommend Baked for all occasion!
BAKED offers budget-friendly and delicious options for a wedding cake and beautiful and tasty cupcakes. We ended up with 4 flavors of cupcakes and a small wedding cake for a fraction of what we would have paid for a bigger and less-tasty cake. Our guests LOVED the cupcakes and gobbled every single one up. My only advice is to order MORE cupcakes than you think you need - at least 1.5 -2 per guest. THANKS BAKED!
BAKED was the perfect choice for my wedding. Reasons below:
Tasting:
The cake tasting was fantastic, you are given a selection of cupcakes, brownies and other treats to taste and you can make your selection from there. Each cupcake can be made into an actual three layer cake and sizes and decoration vary. You are left alone to review the pictures, and Jordan was very upfront about pricing and what works best. The prices are the same as what you would pay in the store (unless you want additional decor)
The cakes are delivered to the venue for you (slight cost) and the team at BAKED were very responsive to any questions.
The actual cakes were amazing and they all went! We had coconut, Sweet and Salty and Red Velvet. We plan to get the cakes again for every anniversary. HIghly recommend if you want really, really good cake that everyone loves without all the fancy wedding pricing and fuss.
First of all we really enjoyed our tasting. We chose a three tiered (6/8/10 inches) Lemondrop cake. It's a lemon cake with a thin layer of lemon curd and vanilla lemon white frosting-- and fresh white flowers as the topper. Everyone at our reception loved it.
we did a smaller tiered cake and big round chocolate cake to keep things affordable - and they even had vegan cupcakes.
Baked NYC baked my wedding cakes and they came out GREAT and they of course tasted delicious! Jordan was a pleasure to work with, even giving me an extra tasting since I live across the country and wasn't in town when my husband was picking our baker. We decided to go with a few sweet salty caramel cakes, a coffee cake, and a basic tiered vanilla with raspberry filling- they each tasted amazing. The cakes arrived to the venue on time and looked great, my only disappointment was the design style I wanted on our tiered cake was not done the way I had discussed with Jordan. I would definitely recommend using Baked for wedding cakes, Jordan is great and willing to work with your budget!
So my wife and I went here for our first tasting with my MIL. The flavors and designs were awesome but we weren't initially sure. After tasting around, we realized they were really the best around - amazing cost, variety of sweets and decorating experience. We worked with Jordan was who super helpful and accessible. Our cake was decorated EXACTLY like how I wanted and tasted delicious! We had multiple guests tell us that they loved the cake, including those people who generally hate cake and/or wedding cakes. Would highly recommend them!!
My cakes were perfect! everything from the consult to the cutting was handled amazingly. the cake was even better than I could have expected and it looked to perfect to eat!
Great experience working with Baked! My cake was simple & beautiful, but most of all delicious. They had so many amazing flavors we picked 3 flavors for our three tiered cake! They will also do cupcakes, dessert tables, whatever you want. Loved them!
I'm not a tiered cake kinda gal. Paying $8/slice seemed like a waste of money we could spend elsewhere. Instead I got three delicious cake options for 85 guests and spent $250. Baked delivered three beautifully simple cakes to our venue and our guests loved the options!
We got a chocolate coffee cake, an almond pistachio cake, and the hummingbird cake (sort of like fancy banana bread). All three were super yum and beautiful. They provided two of the cake toppers - edible dahlias made of sugar - to match my bouquet.
didn't want traditional wedding cake, went for the cupcakes in different flavors, saved ton a money, plus everyone enjoyed and actually ate the cupcakes, had a small cake on top for cake cutting, which brought home and ate the next day, red velvet.. delicious..
We wanted to do a cup cake tier and were not disappointed with Baked. Our consultation was cupcake heaven. We were able to taste a variety of cupcakes...one more delicious than the other. They were also able to meet our request for the Tiffany themed individual cake as a top piece. They followed up and delivered on time. Did not disappoint! The red velvet cupcake was so moist...soooo good.
Baked was delightful. We went for a tasting, and they let us taste almost 10 different cakes. They gave us space to decide and talk. We were wishy washy with the design at first, and they we completely laid back and allowed us to think about it. When the cakes arrived (we ended up with 3!), they were perfect. All of our guests loved it!
We wanted a DELICIOUS cake more than a frilly, fancy cake, and Baked certainly delivered. We went in for a tasting, and couldn't decide on a flavor, since they have so many wonderful cakes. We ordered a three-tier red velvet cake for our display, and they decorated it to match our decor, but it was simple and clean. And we chose the Sweet and Salty chocolate cake to ALSO serve at desert. Gorgeous and delicious, and great delivery of our cake, even in the fall-out of a big NYC blizzard.
Thanks, Baked!
Renato of baked was a pleasure to work with. The cake was beautiful delicious and delivered on time. Our guests were so impressed with the quality and design of the cake. It was also a great price for such high quality.;We very much enjoyed working with baked. The one issue was that we had provided a picture of the design of the cake and the color of the frosting. While the design was perfect the color was way off and it did not match the color scheme of the wedding.
