Bali Hai Photo and Film

We deposited 20% before the wedding. Jon was great during our ceremony. He was professional and kept the energy up with his excitement. We paid him the rest of the balance a day after the ceremony, in good faith. He told us it may take 2 months for him to complete the edits needed and deliver the finished product. Unfortunately, we have not heard from Jon Gibb/BaliHaiPhoto since November of 2018. We've sent emails and a voice mail, but no replies have been returned. We hope to receive a response/explanation soon. Please be aware of BaliHaiPhoto and there service. We hope that Jon has not done this to other clients on there wedding day.

The package included 30 photos, photographer editing and drone photos. I had some concerns from the beginning as they did not respond to multiple phone calls and texts asking to confirm our appointment. Finally, the day before the shoot when I informed them that we would need to cancel, I received a return text that they would be there. John, the owner, did indeed meet us at the scheduled time and place. It is now 6 weeks later, and John has not provided any photos. I have sent multiple emails, and texts and called repeatedly. After a couple of weeks he texted me and let me know we should receive the photos by the next day. That was over a week ago and now he is not responding at all. This is so disappointing as I really wanted these pictures of my family to memoralize our wonderful trip to Hawaii. I can never get this trip back and there are no photos to show it. I am extremely sad. The money alone to pay for the photos and the cost of the day itself are also lost....but the lack of photos is what is most disappointing. I would not recommend this business to anyone. UPDATE ON REVIEW. After my failed attempts to get any response, I let my husband know we would likely not get our photos. He also began a series of communications to John that initially had some response, but after several weeks this did not result in any photos. We both gave up and were considering hiring an attorney in Hawaii, or simply trying to get our money back. After 11 weeks and 2 days a great thing happened! We got an email with a link to our photos and we had a text from a person named Melchor apologizing for the delay. There were over 100 of them. None had been edited, nor were the drone photos there, but we had the photos on the beach. I initially marked 43 photos for downloading. I was told we could only download 30 per our package. I asked how I could get the additional 13 pictures and was told “WE CAN GIVE YOU THE 43 PHOTOS AT NO COST IF YOU COULD REMOVE THE BAD REVIEW, AND IF YOU LEAVE US A GOOD (REVIEW) I CAN GIVE YOU THE ENTIRE GALLERY AT NO COST.” Really? As my integrity is worth more than $541, I declined. I want others to know how this business is run. I asked what the additional cost would be for the 13 photos. It was $100 and I paid it. I now have my 43 photos, without any editing done by the photographer and without ANY of the drone photos which are clearly promised on all packages on the website (this advertising may change after the posting of this review). We are currently in a dispute through our credit card company with Bali Hai for some of the cost of the package as no drone photos were provided. After I posted this review, I scanned the internet for other reviews and found many stories similar to ours. Several for family photos and weddings where the bride and/or groom were desperate for their photos. Just beware. I wish I had done my research before booking this company. We are now getting barraged with phone calls and texts from Bali Hai letting us know we are dishonest people as we are disputing some of the cost of the package due to incomplete pictures. Literally John has spent hours communicating to us. I really wish he would have spent this time up front simply getting us our pictures or responding back to us. Karma?
