I had my welcome drinks for my wedding weekend at Ballard's and it was an awesome experience. Rafael and the team really made the night effortless to enjoy! The planning ahead of t...
ime was quick, to the point, and seamless. We had to pivot from an outside bonfire to inside due to the weather and it was a seamless transition. Our guests had a great time with the huge variety of drinks and food presented, even the little kids enjoyed the frozen drink options. Overall, a great event and an awesome kickstart to our weekend with family and friends. I would absolutely recommend Ballard's in general but definitely, if you need a private event on Block Island, you will not be disappointed.
We had the best beach bonfire at Ballard’s the night before our wedding. The amazing weather and sunset definitely helped matters, but the set-up, the staff, and the food/drinks pu...
t the night over the top! Terry-ann and Steve were such pleasures to work with on the events planning side - they both made everything so easy. We were so happy to meet Terry-Ann in-person that weekend. And Shawn and Ewart are the best bartenders in the game! They accommodated us deciding to extend the open bar for another hour at the last minute and kept the fire going for smores. Overall, 10 out of 10 night!! Thank you Ballards team
Ballard’s was the perfect location for our August 6, 2021 Wedding Welcome Bon Fire. The venue was amazing, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were there earlie...
r in the day with friends, and we were blown away at how the venue completely transformed for our event. We dropped off some games and decorations earlier in the day and the team at Ballard’s put everything together and created something really special. We had to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic, but throughout it all the entire team at Ballard’s was so flexible and accommodating. We highly recommend the Ballard’s Bon Fire!
A BIG thank you to Steve, Terry-Ann and the staff at Ballard’s for making our wedding day visions come to life! We had the most amazing 3 days full of family, friends and FUN for o...
ur wedding weekend. Terry-Ann went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and it all truly exceeded our expectations. It started off with a welcome bonfire the first night, our wedding ceremony the next and then a beach day with cabanas and sun! We can’t say enough wonderful things about Ballard’s and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a non-traditional idea of a wedding with the highlights being on simply family and fun. Thank you again!!!
We had our Welcome Dinner Bonfire at Ballards on the beach the night before our wedding on August 21st in the middle of a pandemic & I can not commend them enough! Marko was absol...
utely amazing he coordinated everything, spoke to the state for endless hours, went above and beyond to make sure everything was safe and followed all the covid regulations all while making sure we had the most amazing time! I have been coming to Block since I was a little girl and Ballards can get a bad rep when it gets crowded with day trippers (who are just enjoying themselves same as everyone else) but I LOVE IT & want to let any bride know that they are beyond amazing to host any wedding events! It was stress free which was the complete opposite from my actual wedding venue the next day, who actually told me that he should charge me for his time he spent speaking with the State to make sure the covid regulations were met. I wish Marko coordinated my actual wedding! He was so professional and went above and beyond for us! The Bonfire was an amazing atmosphere and the food was great of course the drinks were as well! I can not thank Marko enough for the best night!
2020! What a year it’s been! My husband Chris and I just got married at Ballards 3 days ago. It was absolutely wonderful. Marko was my wedding coordinator manager and he was with m...
e EVERY STEP. I was nervous because this was our 5th attempted wedding this year due to pandemic issues. We only planned for 25 guests. I cant say enough good things.
Pros:
-Great food and drink, low minimum to spend, Marko kept me updated where I was in cost every so often as I requested
-amazing service. Friendly servers.
-convenient location on Block Island!
-Wedding on the beach. Come on. Nothing better.
The only con I can think of, which did not bother me at all, was no privacy. Beach goers were cheering us on as we walked to get married. I loved it. We had our own little section on the patio for our guests and it was fantastic. I also had to bring my own cake which also was fine, just nerve wracking to carry. But Marko got it as soon as I arrived to drop it off and really helped make my day special.
It wasn’t the original wedding I had planned but honestly it was the best wedding ever. I loved every moment and Ballards was incredible.
I want to share my candid wedding experience at Ballards. My husband & I booked a small wedding there for about 60 guests for the end of Sept of 2017. We had a super easy & respons...
ive booking, but as soon as the wedding day came, the promises made by the venue broke down. Since we were a small wedding, we had a sectioned off private space, & did not rent the entire venue. I was promised 2 outdoor heaters, but only received one. I was promised by Marko he would be around to help facilitate the event, but I barely saw him. The lighting near my guests by the beach was non-existent. And some random boxes of ours were left of a table near a main walkway. We were also promised a private bonfire, & I was very upset to find one set up right next to ours, & we had to share a tiki bar. Had I known the service during our actual wedding would be so lacking, we would've booked elsewhere. I hope this review helps those who are on the fence about booking here.
