We had the pleasure of working with Kira to design the choreography for our first dance at our wedding, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we met her, it was clear how passionate she is about dance and how dedicated she is to her clients. The team at Ballroom Bliss is amazing! We are not at all good dancers but Kira taught us in the most easy-to-learn, fun way. We walked away with some great techniques and our guests were blown away by the specially-choreographed dance, which very few other studios do! Deborah clearly has a passion for teaching dance with a fun, flexible, and beginner-friendly approach! Working with her was the best wedding decision we made. Neither one of us had ever danced with choreography before and our first dance took people's breath away - multiple times. Deborah took our first dance song and outlined a flexible choreography that was beautiful. Throughout the process, Deborah continuously checked in with us on the level of difficulty and built upon our individual progress. This approach felt extremely supportive, made the experience fun, kept us in control, and resulted in a first dance that we loved and that people are still talking about as we write this review.

We worked with Deborah for our first dance at our wedding. She is such a flexible, patient and knowledgeable instructor. My husband and I are beginner dancers and not naturally talented, but we didn't want to look like we memorized a dance to perform. She expertly helped us put together a unique performance, reflecting our personalities. We truly had fun during our lessons and looked forward to going them.

We had a blast learning from Kira! We would consider ourselves not just non-dancers but also people who don't really know how to consciously pose for formal occasions and Kira gave us a lot of direct advice on stance and movement that we used during our entire day. It made photos way better and us more able to enjoy how performative the day is. We were so comfortable with the dance that we actually changed the song at the last minute and was still able to keep the beat and do all the elements. We decided to take dance lessons because we both wanted something a little polished for our wedding day. We worked with Deborah for our first dance at our wedding and she was great! She squeezed in 3 last minute classes for us and was very patient with us since we’re not experienced dancers. She made sure to take videos at the end of each lesson to make practicing at home easier. We felt a lot more confident going into the dance with these lessons! Would definitely recommend.

We had 3 lessons with Kira at Ballroom bliss to work on our wedding first dance routine. She asked questions and watched us to understand how good of dancers we were, and she was incredibly patient and creative in coming up with moves for us. We enjoyed our time every lesson, it was a very fun experience. The space they use is the lower level of a home, which was spacious and private. Kira was the best dance instructor ever!!! She transformed my husband and I into some serious ballroom dancers. She formulated an amazing dance to Sam’s Smith “Latch” and we totally nailed it all thanks to her. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My husband and I can't recommend Ballroom Bliss enough. Kira was very patient, helped us improve our confidence in partner dancing and choreographed a fun and creative routine for us to surprise our friends and family! The lessons were a fun way for my husband and I to connect and have fun during the long wedding planning process and our first dance was one of our favorite parts about our wedding day. Weddings are expensive, no doubt, however this was an extra that we really have zero regrets!

We enrolled in a set of five private dance lessons with Deb starting ~3 months before our wedding. My now husband and I are not dancers, and wanted to have some direction and confidence for our first dance. Not only did we feel great about our first dance on the day of our wedding, we had a lot of fun going to Deb's classes and practicing in between. We wanted every aspect of our wedding to be fun and unique and that included our "formal" dances! We hired Deborah from ballroom bliss to choreograph dances for both me and my husband and me and my dad, and wow was it worth it! All of our songs were more non-tradition-- here comes the sun for me and my dad, and Shaggy and Beyoncé songs for me and my husband. We did around 5 sessions each to learn basics steps and then perfect Deborah's amazing choreography. We had so much fun at our weekly lessons, and our guests were blown away by our dances. We also know some new moves we can use when we go to other weddings now too! I highly recommend working with Deborah on any of your dance and/or choreography needs!

We took 8 classes with Deborah in preparation for our first dance at our wedding and had the best time! Deborah is patient, fun and very talented. She adapted to the style and theme that we envisioned, created guidelines for us to follow, but gave us creative freedom. As we arrived as complete beginners, she taught us fundamentals, worked at our pace, and quickly filled our toolbox with new moves as we progressed. Not only did we feel confident and loose at our wedding, we now have the basic skills to be able to have fun at any scene where there is dance. Therefore, this investment outperformed our expectations.

If your looking for help with your custom first dance, you have found THE place and person to do it with. You won't be disappointed. My wife and I had no formal training but Deborah came up with a perfect custom choreography for us that was doable but looked very professional. We had gone to a other dance classes where they made us start with simple steps and we found ourselves frustrated at the pace. Deborah jumped right in with us, made us feel comfortable and got us dancing at a high level within a few sessions. We needed 6 sessions and nailed our first dance (full 4 minute song). Throughout our sessions Deborah was upbeat, patient and motivating. She was willing to tweak the choreography whenever we felt a change was needed and was always so helpful as she could dance both the leader / follower parts with ease.

We tasked her with the difficult job of creating a combined first / parent dance for our wedding to an upbeat song - and we only had 5 weeks to learn it. She listened to our ideas, preferences and created the most amazing dance. My wife and I went to Kira for 5 dance lessons leading up to our wedding and couldn't be happier! I was starting at an EXTREMELY low skill level, and she immediately helped me feel more comfortable on the dance floor. We chose to go with a casual approach rather than a choreographed routine - Kira gave us a ton of moves for our repertoire that we could pick and choose from on the big day. We ended up with an awesome first dance that looked natural but had plenty of flare, and we got tons of compliments from family and friends. I couldn't recommend Kira and Ballroom Bliss more highly - we had a ton of fun throughout the process.

We went to Deb with a difficult routine in mind, and she helped us rock our first dance! We couldn't have asked for a better choreographer. She even helped us fit in last minute sessions after the pandemic restrictions were lifted right before our wedding. She is very easy to work with no matter what your dance experience and will make you feel comfortable with your dancing skills prior to the big day.

Deb helped us NAIL our first dance. My hub (then fiancé) wasn’t convinced we needed lessons initially though I did. After the first lesson, we were intrigued by all the steps that we could learn and wanted to impress rather than sway and turn in circles like a middle school couple 🤣 We did 8 hour lessons with Deb at her house and practiced a lot. She made our two left feet go in sync! She put us at ease and worked with our skill level. Dancing for us before the wedding was also great bonding time with each other- little date nights! I’d highly recommend spending extra time and funds to impress your guests, learn some skills, and bond as a couple together.

We used Deborah for a Bollywood / ballroom mixed dance for our wedding and it was absolutely amazing! Deborah captured exactly what I had envisioned and in only 4 lessons was able to teach us all the moves for a long song. Our guest were so impressed. She was able to quickly listen to our song and create a dance on the spot for us to learn. We had about 4 lessons and felt extremely prepared for the big day! Deborah and Kira are amazing! We did an 8 class package with them - 6 lessons on our first dance and 2 lessons for the parent dances - and couldn't be happier. After several recommendations from friends (and seeing her work in action at other weddings!) my fiancé and I decided to contact Deborah a few months ago for dance lessons for our big day! We are so thrilled we did! Deborah worked with us to teach us a choreographed first dance that wowed our guests! Kira choreographed a routine for our slow, romantic song which was both serious and funny, incorporating both of our personalities perfectly! We took 5 lessons, the last 2 were perfecting the routine. We nailed it, surprised our guests and smiled and laughed through the entire 4 1/2 mins! It was so so fun and was truly a highlight of our wedding! Thanks to Kira for creating a lasting memory and a dance that I hope to perform with my husband for the next 50 years!!

My husband and I decided we wanted to add apiece to our wedding planning process that was just for us and just for fun so we decided to take dance classes in order to have a choreographed first dance. Some background on us… my husband can move a bit on a dance floor but I trip over my own two feet so I was a bit apprehensive about the whole process. Kira worked with us for about 6 weeks and by the end of those six lessons, we learned a whole style of dance (fox trot) and our choreographed song (which was a whopping 4 1/2 minutes)! We kept the choreograph piece quiet from most friends and family in order to create a surprise element (which Kira even incorporated into our dance). We received so many compliments from our wedding guests and felt as though we rocked the floor. Not only did we have a blast leading up the wedding; I felt confident to rock the floor the night of our wedding. We enjoyed it so much were doing a few more classes with them to learn other styles of dances so were ready to hit the dance floor at our friend’s weddings.

Highly recommend. Deborah is easy to work with, organized, and communicates well. Our instructor, Kira, was fantastic. We really enjoyed our lessons with her and she is a great teacher. She made us feel comfortable with an activity that's outside of our norm. We were very happy with the dance Kira choreographed.

We had a great experience with Ballroom Bliss preparing for our wedding first dance - would 100% recommend for couples/dancers at all skill levels. Kira was an AMAZING teacher. We are dance beginners, but she really met us on our level. She always brought so much positive energy to the class and spent time thinking about the moves that would be best for us- and we did some that we never thought would be possible. It was clear she could teach dancers on any level. The studio locations were also convenient and easy to book. Our friends and family were SO impressed and stunned by our dance in the best way and we got so many compliments.

We were in a panic the week of our wedding when we realized we can't dance! So we had about 1.5 hr appt last minute and we learned enough moves to make it look like we knew what we were doing and were comfortable in front of our guests. It was fun too! Kira is absolutely amazing. We did swing lessons with her for our first dance and i'm so glad that we did. Not only did we wow our friends and family with our sweet moves, she made lessons fun and easy to understand. Neither one of us are super coordinated, but she helped us build a dance that felt comfortable, looked good, and showcased our personality amazingly.

We really appreciated our experience here. I was very frustrated in searching for dance lessons with places who wouldn’t give prices until we came in for a consultation and would also aggressively email. I heard about Ballroom Bliss through a friends recommendation and it was great from the start. The pricing is affordable (less than half the cost at the rittenhouse /headhouse square place), clear, and flexible depending on your needs, the instructor works with you where you’re at and was so accommodating about availability and quick responses.

Kira from Ballroom Bliss was great for my husband and I. He really DID NOT want to take any lessons whatsoever, but he agreed to take a couple classes with me just to learn some basic spins, steps, moves. Kira was very patient with us and also helped us with a few steps/moves that we could use in our dance. It didn't end up being a choreographed routine, but it definitely put us at ease on our actual wedding day. Would definitely recommend!

Deborah from Ballroom Bliss was incredible. We bought the package for choreography + 5 lessons, and Deborah created the perfect choreography for the wedding song we had chosen for our first dance. She was incredibly patient with my husband and me, and we were able to learn the choreography in 2 lessons and then fine-tune it in the remaining 3 lessons (we have no dance background). If I could give more than 5 stairs, I would! She was absolutely a dream to work with, and I highly recommend her.

Working with our instructor Kira, my husband and I were able to learn how to do a Viennese waltz that swept our guests away! I can't thank her enough! She's a phenomenal teacher who is kind, patient, and breaks down steps to make it easy to learn! We had an amazing experience working with Kira at Ballroom Bliss. Our first dance song was "Is this love" by Bob Marley, which is not too traditional, and she was still able to help us learn the perfect dance moves to go along with the beat. We had so much fun coming to lessons and we only needed a few to make our dance perfect. I would recommend any couple to use this company for any dance lessons!

My husband and I took dance lessons with Deborah prior to our wedding and we could not have been happier that we went with her! My wife and I will both tell you we are not the most naturally talented dancers. And to make matters worse, when it came to choosing a first dance song for our wedding, our favorite choice was a bit more up-tempo than many first dance songs. No problem for Kira and Ballroom Bliss. After just two lessons, she had helped us master the basics of the Bachata including some spins and dips. When it came time for our first dance on our wedding day, everything went great! While we might not be ready for Dancing with the Stars, with the help of Kira we not only didn't make fools of ourselves, but we even got some "ooos and ahhs" from our family and friends at our wedding. Not only did Kira help us have a successful first dance, but we had a ton of fun learning with her as well. Our lessons were easily one of the most fun parts of getting ready for our wedding. We can't thank Kira enough for her help and we would highly recommend her and Ballroom Bliss to anyone else!

My husband and I are incredibly grateful for Deb and Kira. I love to dance but hate being the center of attention, while my husband doesn't mind being seen but (didn't) know how to dance. After just a few lessons, we both felt excited and confident about showcasing our moves. Both Deb and Kira are incredibly skilled dancers and teachers. They intuitively know what kind of dance goes best with any given music and are ready to help you reach your objective. We did not want anything choreographed, but instead wished to learn how to keep time with the music and have a few moves to bust out for fun. When the big day came I didn't even notice we were the only ones dancing while my husband led us around the floor like a pro. Our friends and family were amazed and asked us where we learned how to dance. I cannot recommend Ballroom Bliss highly enough. Deb and her team are absolutely wonderful! And the price is unbeatable. We learned our dance in only 3 lessons and got a lot of compliments at our wedding. She teaches to the level and makes a choreography to your dance level. Would definitely recommend Ballroom Bliss! We looked at other venues as well which were much pricier with less flexible scheduling.

Throughout our engagement, my now-husband and I kept going back and forth between "should we or shouldn't we" take dance lessons. We finally decided, yes, we should -- but only about a month before our wedding. We talked to a few dance studios in the city, but the hours at most studios were tough and we just didn't talk to anyone we really wanted to work with. Our wedding planner recommended Deborah and Ballroom Bliss and we are so happy we found her!!! Deborah choreographed our first dance perfectly to the song "That's How Strong My Love Is" - It was elegant, classic, and fun - and we took 5 lessons with her. Neither my husband or I are great dancers, but she was so patient and helpful with us. Whenever one of us got frustrated, she had a solution or talked us off the ledge (which is not easy to do with either of us!). Moreover, we were learning the dance in probably the most stressful days leading up to our wedding. Going to see Deborah for our lessons and practicing our dance was something we truly looked forward to and gave us something fun to do amidst all the chaos. It is truly something I'm always going to remember. The day of our wedding, the dance went wonderfully and we received so many compliments from our friends and family members. We had the most amazing experience with Ballroom Bliss and cannot recommend them enough for learning ballroom dance. My fiancé and I were looking for a place to brush up on some dance moves for our wedding, coming in with very different dance experience- I was a dancer for years, and he felt awkward and self conscious and had a hard time on a dance floor. He and I had tried another local dance academy out and it felt a bit out of our price range, and just not necessarily the best fit. Luckily we ended up in the care of Deb and Kira, with an affordable package that we attended with my cousin/bridesmaid and her partner! I can hardly express in words how much fun it was to take lessons with Kira. She made my fiancé feel more comfortable on his feet than he has felt in years, and she reminded me, fittingly to let him lead!! She was so constructive and so validating, and I could feel us improving by her teaching each lesson. I felt like she noticed our strengths and was so positive in helping us improve. She was so knowledgeable, patient, accessible, and amenable, and really encouraged us to trust each other, to switch partners, to dance with her, and to find our groove in the different styles. She matched us when we were goofy and added lots of lightness and laughter to the room, while bringing us back to our goals and helping us refine each style. We ended up learning Waltz, Rumba, and Swing, and I can't believe how excited my fiancé is to get on the dance floor later this month for our wedding. Kira and Deb are both fantastic teachers and I would beg any folks, engaged or not, to take advantage of any opportunity to learn from them!

Our experience with Ballroom Bliss was wonderful. I first reached out to Deborah about ten months before our wedding after reading many positive reviews. My fiancé and I were unsure about how to approach our first dance. We didn't want something really stiff or overly choreographed, but didn't want to just "wing it" the day of either. Deborah promptly provided helpful information about their locations, lessons, and pricing. We then put our first dance on the back burner for months and finally decided to take lessons about six weeks before our wedding. This is not to recommend our procrastination, but with the expert teaching of Deborah and Kira, we felt wonderful and confident going into our first dance. Deborah helped us get the basics down and then because of some scheduling crunches, Kira stepped in and helped us finesse our moves. The lessons were really enjoyable and both Deborah and Kira were excellent teachers--supportive, patient, creative and fun. They gave us the tools to practice on our own at home and come to the next lesson ready to continue learning. On the day of our wedding, felt like we nailed our dance and were so happy! We received glowing praise from our guests and there were lots of cheers throughout. One couple who had seriously ballroom danced before said our foxtrot looked much better than the "standard four lessons with a few basic moves" dance. Must have been that fifth lesson! I would highly recommend Ballroom Bliss to any couple looking to feel confident and comfortable being the center of attention at their wedding.

We worked with Deborah from Ballroom Bliss on our first dance. We did 'Born to Run' by Bruce Springsteen. We're a queer couple, so working with someone who could help us orchestrate a not-so-heteronormative first dance was very important. Deborah was great to work with. We felt very comfortable with her, she got the style we were going for, and helped us pulled off a dance that is now referred to as 'the dance' by those who attended.

Highly recommend Ballroom Bliss! My husband Jonathan and I took many lessons from Veronica Hudacek and had such a great experience. My husband wasn't keen on the idea of taking dance classes for our first dance, but ended up having a lot of fun during our dance sessions. The hour sessions felt like 5 minutes flew by! Veronica was incredibly patient with us, and even sent us videos on how to master the steps that we struggled with. Overall, we had a blast with Veronica and highly recommend anyone to take classes at Ballroom Bliss.

I researched a few of the big dance schools when looking for instruction for our wedding -- most didn't call or email me back and if they did, they offered a set series of classes, or expensive private lessons. Then I found Deb and Ballroom Blitz; she was flexible, reasonably priced and great to work with. My husband I wanted to do something different (fast dance to "Say Hey" by Michael Franti) so Deb taught us some salsa moves and we had fun learning and practicing the steps in her home studio. After just 4 lessons we were able to choreograph our own dance which wowed our guests. I highly recommend working with Deb -- As well as doing something out of the box -- to make your wedding special and memorable.

We had a great experience with Ballroom Bliss for our wedding dance lessons. We initially went to Society Hill Dance Academy for a free lesson, but found it to be far outside of our budget. Ballroom Bliss was much more reasonably priced, and Deborah, the owner, was fantastic to work with. We took lessons in her home studio, right in our neighborhood. She was very flexible with scheduling, which was a must for us with two crazy schedules.. And she was so much fun to work with! We learned so much during our 8 lessons, and really looked well put together for our first dance at the wedding. We plan to take more lessons with her in the future!

Deborah is an amazing dance instructor. She is very professional and friendly. My husband, my father and I went to her for lessons. None of us had an prior experience with dance. But Deborah was able to help us nail our dances. She is very talented. She choreographed an amzing father/daughter dance for my Dad and I that everyone at our wedding is still speaking about. She is a dedicated instructor, who has a wonderful personality. I would recommend her to everyone.
