Like many couples, we signed up for lessons for our wedding first dance with of no formal dance training and a healthy dose of nerves when imagining dancing in front of all of our family and friends. We chose Peter for his reputation and flexibility, and the experience far exceeded our expectations! Peter is truly a top-tier instructor who makes every session feel relaxed, fun, and accessible. He has a brilliant gift for teaching to your skill level and song choice while keeping things simple. While wedding planning can often feel like a series of chores, our time with Peter quickly became the part of the week we looked forward to most. Peter prepared us perfectly for handling the anxieties and challenges that we might face on wedding day, and he also instilled in us the desire to keep dancing! Peter was an absolute pleasure to work with! Neither my partner nor I had ever taken dance lessons before, and we don’t consider ourselves the most natural dancers together. Peter was so friendly, patient, and encouraging, which immediately put us at ease. We didn’t want anything overly choreographed (just something a few levels above swaying, with some twirls and dips) and he heard us loud and clear. He helped us create a first dance routine that felt natural, fun, and perfectly us. Scheduling with him was a breeze (he offers convenient online booking), and his rates are incredibly reasonable for the quality of dance instruction you receive. We are so glad we worked with him and would wholeheartedly recommend Peter to any couple looking to feel confident and comfortable on the dance floor!

An award-winning dancer, instructor & actor, DVIDA certified, he's taught independently, with Fred Astaire, Pierre Dulaine, on "Married at 1st Sight," Midsummer Night's Swing, the Broadway Theater Institute, at Columbia, Cornell, and Trinity College (Dublin), HB Studio, Manhattan Dance/Theatre, and the Theater Workshop. He's Co-director of the American Youth Theater. Over the past 20 years he's handpicked specialist instructors to fill out the team, all are dedicated to creating YOUR First dance

did! There were so many special moments on our wedding day, and our first dance makes it into the top five. We didn't tell anyone we were taking lessons, so the surprise literally brought our parents to tears. Peter was a wonderful teacher for us somewhat clumsy beginners. He taught us basic moves, and once we were comfortable, added in fancier moves like dips and spins. He made it very easy for us to learn, and gave us a plan for our 3-minute dance, instead of a tightly choreographed number, which could come out looking forced or unnatural. He made us feel comfortable and imparted wisdom like "the only people who will know you messed up is you!" On top of that, he was easy to book and to get a hold of. We had 5 lessons total with him. Working with Peter was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. The month leading up to your wedding are stressful times, but my husband and I looked forward to our weekly sessions with Peter! Don't hesitate to book him if you want a first dance to remember!
