There's something special for every guest at this museum, as evidenced by all the people who would go on to tell us this was the coolest wedding venue they'd ever been to. The cherry on top was the staff. Kelley was a pleasure to work with. Unlike a lot of venues, she never tried to place the hard sale on us with anything. She was always easy-going and accommodating and took the stress out of everything. We must've asked her a thousand questions in months leading to our wedding, and she was always so helpful and responsive. She was also incredibly helpful and knowledgeable when it came to other local vendor recommendations. We can't recommend this venue enough.

t as stunning as the outdoor one, there are tons of unique and beautiful on-site locations for photo ops...the list goes on. We also really liked that, while they do require clients to select their caterers from a list, the list isn’t just one or two caterers like some other Baltimore-area venues. BMI’s catering list is pretty extensive and still allows the client to choose from a number of different options and price points, which was important to us. We had sooo many guests tell us that BMI was “stunning,” and the coolest venue they had ever been to. We couldn’t agree more! Thank you to Claire and everyone else at BMI who helped make our day so special.

he decor and the amazing wall of windows with a view of downtown, this really was a picture perfect location for our wedding. They were easy to work with and very clear about what could and could not happen in the space. The one thing that I would call a very minor negative was the fact that the space did shift and change a bit between booking it and our wedding date. That said, we booked almost two years in advance and it is a working museum, so it's understandable. Our guests thought the venue was amazing and so unique and I cannot wait to see our professional photos!

The ceremony was outside on the patio and couldn't have been better. The view of the city skyline, the activity on the water and the evening sunset is perfect! The reception was inside and was elegant. There is no need for expensive decorations because the museum offers such a beautiful backdrop. I had votive candles in the wall of glass windows and simple candles in jars on the tables. Our guests could walk through the museum, dance, walk outside on the pier and enjoy the sunset and city lights on the water. I am 110% happy with our selection of the BMI and strongly recommend having your wedding there! They have it all!!

h it could have handled hundreds more people, because of the way they set up the space Since it is essentially a large open rectangle, there aren’t many limitations on how they can arrange your tables/dance area/seating. We also did our ceremony indoors because of heat and rain, and it was still beautiful in front of the wall of glass windows facing out on the harbor. We loved working with Kelley who is a really cool, down-to-earth and extremely helpful person. They were very accommodating and responsive. The exhibits are built-in entertainment for your guests, and a lot of fun. We also paid to have the Cannery open during the cocktail hour, and it was a nice touch to allow everyone to walk around the museum while the food was being set up. (In case you’re interested, we went with Rouge Catering - I believe the museum has a list of approved caterers, and Rouge is on this list. They are very familiar with this venue and didn’t need any help figuring out set up arrangements or coordination). My only constructive criticism: I made a video to play in the theater room (I highly recommend doing this, it was so fun and all the guests loved it), but I would heartily suggest watching the entire video all the way through on the big screen before the event! My video was cut off towards the end unfortunately, it wasn’t a huge deal but it probably could have been avoided. Also, the first time through, the video crashed so I had to run get the event manager - again not a huge deal but perhaps we should have played it all the way through once before the event started to make sure it would run smoothly. I think that is a very minor issue, which was half my own fault. Other than that, everything was perfect!

During the cocktail hour they were able to visit the different areas of the museum to see all it had to offer. Claire and Kelley could not have been easier to work with and accommodated every request that we had. They made the process very easy and was such a pleasure to work with. Because cool, unique, reasonable in price, plenty of free parking (you think about this when you are based out of DC and most of your “local” guest will drive) and tons of other aspects the BMI has are important. For me, the responsiveness of the staff (like Kelley) to *any* email I had and the confidence they give you from the very first meeting of “yes, these professionals (like Angie) know how to run weddings” are what it really came down to in why I picked this place for our ceremony and reception. If I can give any advice to someone that is looking at these reviews and wondering…hmmm…should I check out the BMI? I would advise you – just go look at it and meet them. Then I bet you’ll see why so many of these reviews are raving about their staff. They are absolutely a big reason my wedding day went so well.

But when we got engaged, we thought we’d never make it happen. From day one of this process, Kelley, Claire and team were AMAZING. We visited on a Sunday and they walked us through everything- set up, cost, timing, their upcoming Wedding show, exhibit bits, when we could visit for walk-through, what to expect the weekend of, EVERYTHING. We quickly reached out about a date and got set up. Throughout the process, I relied on Kelley for advice on vendors, decor, layout, getting our insurance and more. No email went unanswered, they actually exceeded every expectation. During our rehearsal, I was a bit nervous. However, they managed to wrangle 20+ people and get everyone excited! They made sure everyone who was walking was comfortable and had their moment. The day of was beyond our wildest dreams. Kelley unlocked the dock for our first look- a special moment as we had once sunk a boat just outside the museum. She also helped organize our set up and ensured everyone made it in for the ceremony. She was present for the entire day, whenever we needed her. I can’t really express how grateful we are to the BMI team for making our dreams a reality for the very best day of our lives.

Our guests had an incredible time, and we had a gorgeous backdrop to celebrate one of the most important events of our lives. i planned my own wedding without the help of a planner, and I cannot stress enough how much holding our reception at the BMI eased the process for me. Claire made sure that we had a meeting in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and worked with our caterer to establish both a rain and shine plan. We loved having our cocktail hour on the deck, which was a beautiful setting for photographs, and then moving the party inside for the rest of the night. The space is perfect for a wedding of 150-200 people, and the shape of the room lends itself to getting people on the dance floor. We also loved having things for our guests to do (wander the museum) if they weren't as in to dancing. We had the ceremony indoors, but the outdoor space is also ideal for a ceremony. We rented the gallery and terrace, and that was plenty for our entire evening. The staff are also great to work with! I cannot recommend this location enough, book fast though, they fill up quick!

here I had my first field trip as a child so I wasn’t wowed by the idea of getting married at the same place I learned how to shuck an oyster. My husband had been to a wedding there before and he insisted we look at it. I was set on an outdoor ceremony right on the water and BMI had 2 different options for that, not to mention a GREAT rain plan option, which made me feel so at ease. I’m an event planner and I always see brides choose a venue based on plan A and not think about plan B. What was great about BMI was that I was in love with both plan A and plan B if it rained. So I couldn’t be that unhappy if it rained on our wedding day. We had cocktails outside on the terrace area with a rain plan to be throughout the museum (which is the coolest backup rain plan I’ve ever heard of!). Reception space was inside with floor to ceiling glass windows to look out onto the inner harbor. It was a photographer’s paradise inside the venue. Our photographer kept pulling us into different rooms in the venue space to get pictures in the soda shop, the movie theater, and in the kitchen with Domino Sugars. Claire and her staff were so great throughout the entire planning and execution process. We were allowed to come in whenever we wanted to look at the space, test out our video, and do walk throughs with vendors. My day of coordinators interacted with Claire’s team really well that day. If they needed anything to get done, BMI handled it! The wedding went off with no problems at all. If you’re looking for a venue on the water with inside and outside options, look no further, BMI is the venue for you!

d we didn't end up looking anywhere else - we knew that the combination of fantastic service, competitive prices and an unbeatable location for a Federal Hill wedding was more than we could hope for. Some of my favorite aspects of the venue: The space is interesting and unique for both an indoor and outdoor cocktail ceremony, there are plenty of things to entertain guests who don't want to dance the night away, but the dance floor space is ample if everyone does, the bathrooms are clean and more than enough for large weddings, you can play a cute slideshow in the museum's theatre, and you have amazing views of the harbor and Domino Sugar sign. Could not have asked for more!

Kelley and Claire worked so seamlessly with our other vendors - doing anything they could to accommodate everyone's timelines. These ladies were beyond professional, very organized, and extremely calming - (something they could really charge extra for). Our guests had the best compliments regarding this venue; its historic value, uniqueness and its ability (convenient) to host both the ceremony and reception. We chose to get married in January and worked with the venue for nearly a year prepping for our party. Then the worst blizzard in the history of Baltimore hit and plans had to change. Out of the kindness of her heart, Claire slogged into the museum and allowed us to have our wedding during the rehearsal time, just before three feet of snow blanketed the city. Not only were we able to pull off a super fast-one day early wedding with a handfull of guests, we rescheduled for October, when we hauled out all of our decor again and FINALLY got to have our reception. I can't say enough about the warmth, kindness and flexibility of ALL of the staff.

The day of the event Angie was there working side by side with our caterer to make everything perfect. The museum is so beautiful and they set up our tables in a way that provided a beautiful view of the Harbor and had the perfect space for a buffet dinner and a great dance floor. The wedding itself was held outside on the terrace and it was amazing! We had a small wedding with just around 60 guests, but they made it feel so full with the way they set up the chairs for the guests. There aren't words to explain how happy I am with how everything turned out. I would highly recommend the location and the individuals who work with you to plan the event!

lso had a pretty seriously dream list of qualities in a location: great indoor/outdoor space, that’s easily accessible with parking, with a seriously interesting or cool history or twist. I had all but given up on my search, especially in Downtown Baltimore, when I remembered: Museum! The Baltimore Museum of Industry hit all of my wishes and more! The Decker Gallery gave my guests plenty or room, plenty to see, optional galleries we could open, GORGEOUS WATERFRONT outdoor Ceremony Space, a huge private parking Lot, and an incredibly warm, friendly, helpful staff that ensured my husband and I had all of our questions and needs taken care of. This is an amazing location, that’s very close to all of the Inner Harbor Hotels With our short planning window I was delighted that they use an online booking Calendar that potential clients can use to see when the Museum is available to rent! We didn’t have a hard date in mind, but a Friday in June of 2016 was open, which us on the rental price and gave our guests a great opportunity to use the weekend to explore Baltimore. We worked mostly with Kelley through out the process, who eased my mind immediately with our deposit and booking, and was ready to answer all of our questions. The BMI does have a 2 hour load in / 1 hour Load out vendor policy Day-of, but with a provided Preferred Vendor Only List, we were confident our Caterers would know what they were getting into! It should also be noted that they had a nice amount of Caterers to pick from so you’re not stuck committing to one price range. All of their rental information and contracts were easy to follow and answered a lot of questions upfront about hosting your event. Closer to our date, Claire from the BMI emailed us to confirm details of our event and tied up a few loose ends. Day Of we opted to have the Cannery Open for guests. We also had a DVD slideshow looping in their mini theatre to the left of the entrance. Guests absolutely loved this venue and we had compliments about how “us” it was the entirely evening. The BMI and Absolutely Perfect Catering were our dream team, and we cannot recommend them enough. The Museum of Industry treated us like VIP through the entire process and after! Our only suggestion to potential renters is to book the extra time! 4 Hours flie

at a downtown venue is near impossible to find! Angie is a problem solver and made sure the day ran smoothly. She was there through it all and was a real asset to the venue. We opened the machinery area and everyone apparently loved walking through. We closed the linen and print shop but they are equally amazing. Also if you're paranoid and need back-up plans to back-up plans it's worth it to rent the point/pavilion as well. Leading up to the day we had a sunshine plan, a light misting plan and a thunderstorm plan... how many places can you have 3 options!! No regrets and have all the pictures to prove it!

They also just purchased nice white folding chairs you can rent which were pretty and comfortable. Highly recommend the BMI! Zeffert & Gold did our catering and they set up the space beautifully!

day of Labor day which ended up being great. This allowed us to have an all day rehearsal dinner and then wrap up the weekend with a Sunday party. Kelly and Claire were able to help me out with all my daily questions and was quick to respond to my emails. Angie was on-site and working with our caterer and wedding planner to ensure that I didn't need to be bothered with any details. You don't need a lot of decorations because the venue itself has so much to look at. Overall, if I was choosing a venue after the fact, I would still go with the Baltimore Museum of Industry.

BMI for it's unique and fun atmosphere. Everyone had such a blast at the wedding and we are still getting compliments from our guests. The museum offers so many interesting things to see which allowed us to decorate sparingly. The location was perfect, including the outdoor patio right on the harbor with the baltimore skyline in the background. At one point, we were taking pictures outside at night and the famous baltimore pirate ship sailed past which provided many great pictures. There is also a small boutique movie theater at the museum that we used to play a home video compilation of my wife and I growing up, which was really neat. The staff was very helpful, especially Claire. Our original plan was to hold the cocktail hour outside on the patio but we had to change plans when it rained 3 inches on our wedding day. Thankfully, they opened up the back transportation gallery at the last minute free of charge and allowed us to hold the cocktail hour inside. They were so accommodating and we can not thank them enough. Also, the price is very reasonable compared to other downtown wedding venues. The BMI will always hold a special place in our hearts and we cannot recommend the BMI enough for your wedding or any other special event.

I was happy we had an a wedding planner to help with getting things set up because they wouldn't let us drop anything off until the morning of the wedding and it would have been impossible to coordinate that on our own with all the chaos of the day, getting ready, etc. They provided round tables, and chairs, but they wouldn't allow us to use their long tables for the buffet so we had to rent those. Also, if you are interested in this venue, and want to get married on a Saturday you need to talk to them over a year in advance! They book up EARLY.

o look at and keep the guests entertained! I was told several times that the venue was "very unique", "very original" and many people asked how I even found the place! I had about 150 people at the wedding and there was plenty of (free!) parking for everyone and plenty of room to eat, dance and be merry! Considering how unique and beautiful the location is (and not to mention how much time it saved me from gathering and putting together decorations, since the Museum is decorated enough) the price was amazing! We had looked at every other place in the state of Maryland to get married and this was the most clean/beautiful/unique/spacious for the price. e museum has its own parking lot which is a must for a downtown wedding. You won't be disappointed!

ny compliments on the museum and I wouldnt have chosen another place to hold our reception :)
