Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits

We scheduled a pie tasting 2 months before (which was a little tricky given that they bake seasonal pies) and it was very nice to meet Trish and get the feel of the place. Payment and pickup was fast and easy. Would definitely recommend! Their pies were such a big hit! Always phenomenal.

Trish made excellent recommendations about flavors and the amounts to order and coordinated a smooth delivery to the venue via Uber Rush (for just $15!). The invoice process was a breeze—all was able to be paid online with the click of a button. Did I mention that the pies were FABULOUS? We were lucky to snag an extra at the end of the evening to enjoy on our honeymoon. Thanks to Bang Bang for making our wedding so sweet!

The tasting was complimentary and our choices didn't have to be in until 2 weeks before the event, which was helpful since we wanted to see what the seasonal fruit pie was going to bed. Good thing we did that because we ended up choosing it as one of the 3 flavors! (rhubarb - ginger). They give you the option of pre-cutting or letting the caterer cut onsite. Super yummy and the guests raved about the pies -- not a piece left at the end of the night. Much cheaper than a wedding cake to feed as many people. We ended up buying a small cutting cake with our caterer so we could do the formality and use our custom cake topper, but the pie was what was served to the guests.

of the top two or three pie places in Chicago. So, while back in IL for the holidays we met with someone there and tried the pie. It seemed a little weird to us that they don't offer a complimentary taste when you are considering paying quite a bit of money for such an event (with each pie at $26), but we figured they're a small shop so we can understand. After that initial meeting they emailed me a list of all the pie flavors we could choose from and it looked fantastic, a great selection! Then, a little over a month before the wedding they emailed me with a new list of what I could choose from. It was much shorter, offering not nearly as many flavors, and they told me that if it wasn't a pie they were currently making for the shop you have to order 5 of that particular flavor in order for them to make it. This went completely against what the first woman that we worked with told us, which was that there is no minimum number for each flavor when ordering for an event. I was a little irritated, and we settled on a few flavors that we were *mostly* happy with. The pies were absolutely delicious, or so I was told by many guests! I made the rookie mistake of not having enough time to enjoy dessert! But, we got many compliments on them. However, had I known our flavor options were going to be limited later on I would have at least shopped around a little bit more and considered some other pie shops in Chicago. Maybe I still would have ended up using Bang Bang, but I really would have liked to make that decision having all the correct information from the start.
