Bankersmith Venue

Bankersmith isn’t just an Event Venue, we are officially on the Texas Map! A historic Texas Railroad Town established in 1913 on Old Highway 9 (now known as Old San Antonio Road) our little slice of heaven is located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. According to the “Texas Hill Country” Old San Antonio Road is one of the top 10 scenic drives in Texas with “unmatched scenery.” If you’re going to get married in Texas, why not do it right? Put your boots on and rent the whole town! Nestled between Luckenbach and Fredericksburg, the Ol’ Bankersmith homestead-turned-wedding venue has a totally unique style. Designed like a classic wooden barn and Texas Dance Hall, the Wedding Hall is 4,700 square feet, has two bathrooms, its own bar and was lovingly built from reclaimed church wood. Bankersmith Hall has an impressive and charming wrap around porch with space for hundreds of guests! You can rent the Hall or the entire Town for a day! We also have a stand alone Bar and Country General store, full service food catering options on site (from BBQ to Farm to Table) and a Mixed Beverage Permit allowing liquor, beer and wine. What would a Texas wedding be without a little whiskey! There is a deep Texas History here and according to an article in Texas Monthly, the “abandoned town of Bankersmith, an old rail stop…[was] once “patronized” by train robber Jesse James.” Plenty of outdoor space, there is a large grass patio area with lawn games and benches and an open-sided bar pavilion for outdoor celebrations. We have plenty of room for additional tents, but typically not needed (a big savings for our couples) as our Wedding Hall comfortably seats 300 plus guests (700 or more when standing). There is even an old Tour Bus on site for Instagrammable photo opportunities with a ‘Texas is my Happy Place!’ mural that has been to Terralingua and back more than a few times. While the bus is no longer functional, we have a wedding shuttle service to safely shuttle guests to and from Fredericksburg, TX. Our little Town even has an Official Bankersmith Pastor to marry our happy couples on site, if needed. Perfect for destination weddings we are a short drive from major airports in San Antonio and Austin, as well as a private airport located right in Fredericksburg, TX! Several AirBnB’s and Cottages rent locally by the day and nearby Fredericksburg has over 20 motels and hotels! Uber also visits our fair city as do several local cab companies and tour services. Once the home of the U.S. Post Office and a local General Store the property now boasts ample parking, two large rustic bars, outdoor and indoor stages, Bankersmith Event Hall, a wedding reception venue, and corporate retreat center. There is also a small farm on the property that operates and is loved by children and adults alike! Loving Beer Burros live on the property and are available by request. The charming landscape holds over 1,000 people for larger events as well.
