Bannerman Castle

Nestled on an island off the coast of the Hudson River with full views of the famous Hudson Highlands, Bannerman Castle is a historical site and NYS park open to the public May - October. Offering the opportunity to host a wedding at this venue, it is located in the up-and-coming town of Beacon, NY only 90 minutes north of NYC. Transport up to 40 (FORTY) of your guests from the shore to the island on our ferry boat to witness you and your partner say "I do" with the castle ruins as your backdrop. Exchange vows outdoors in one of a number of different scenic spots overlooking the stunning views of the surrounding natural beauty or inside the original house built in 1901. Snap family photos as the sun sets over the Mountains and toast to your long happy future. We are very excited to announce that we are now offering full catered receptions with our resident Chef and hospitality team! Enjoy dinner under the stars and a first dance as a married couple in this intimate setting is guaranteed to be unforgettable. The island is run by the members of The Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc. which is a not-for-profit “Friends” organization of volunteers working with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. The Trust is dedicated to bringing together resources and funding to stabilize the buildings on Bannerman Island, also known as Pollepel Island. The Trust aims to raise awareness and educate the public and government organizations on the value and history of the island while raising funds for repairing the island and creating a master plan to eventually stabilizing the structures.
