We chose to work with Marina at Barbara & Co. because 1) she offered a tasting prior to booking, 2) we were impressed with how great her food tasted, 3) her prices are very reasonable and 4) Marina was so kind and genuine in helping us plan out the details for the wedding. Right from the beginning at the tasting she offered us personalized suggestions for how to design our table setting, and later met with us at Alexis Party Rentals to pick out all the rental items. Leading up to the wedding she was prompt in answering questions and adjusting the coordination for the pick-up, setup, and returns from Alexis Party Rentals. Our venue also had strict cleaning and time restrictions regarding set-up and everything was handled for a small fee – saving a great deal of stress with having to avoid hiring an additional cleaning vendor. Everything went great the day of the wedding, and I was impressed with how professional and kind the members of her team were – as well as how wonderful it was to have food grilled on-site (the tri-tip got rave reviews!). Our wedding wouldn’t have been as wonderful without her advice and food, and I would highly recommend Barbara & Co for weddings and events.

perience with weddings and wedding planning, and Marina helped point us in the right direction with so many things, beyond catering. Further, she has a lot of contacts with other vendors, and was happy to connect us.
The menu was created in collaboration. While they have a lot of suggested dishes to give you ideas, their team can make almost anything if you give them direction! She held a tasting for us which was a great opportunity to refine the details.
They also assisted with rentals, coordinating the order, pick up, setup, and return from Alexis Party Rentals in Santa Cruz. During the planning process, Marina met us at Alexis Rentals and helped us pick out our place settings, and identify the number of pieces of each that we needed.
Leading up to the event Marina was always quick to respond by email, and was available to chat on the phone whenever we needed.
The day of, our event went incredibly well. We heard nothing but good things from guests about the quality of the food and the professionalism of the service. Marina has a keen eye for details, and with so much wedding experience, is able to preempt issues and respond without guidance when necessary. Their team was also very respectful of the venue and their requirements, doing an excellent job of cleaning up.
We have nothing but love and respect for Marina and her crew! Catering weddings is hard work, but they make it look easy from the other side of the table (so to say).
I wouldn’t hesitate to book Barbara & Co. for future events, and would definitely recommend them to others for their weddings. Marina is a great partner to have on your side as you go through the planning process.

uick timeline since some rooms couldn't be set up until the venue closed to the public. I was very stressed on the wedding day but once I saw Marina and her team working at the venue, I felt way better. We got one of the cheaper food packages and everything was AMAZING. I got so many compliments from our guests on how good the food was and that it wasn't like 'normal wedding food.' It was also easy to accommodate dietary restrictions of some guests within the menu items. For a small fee, they also did all the cleanup afterwards. I'd recommend this catering service to anyone in the area. Weddings are so stressful, but if you hire Barbara & Company at least you know the food and service will be well managed!

o our wants and needs and ensuring our vision for our special day came to life. More than that, working with Marina and Debbie felt like working with family. They were so kind and generous, professional, and just felt so familiar that it made our big day that much more special. ina at our tasting to the night of our wedding, Barbara and Company went above and beyond to make this the night of our dreams. The food was cooked to perfection, the timing was spot on, and, to a person, our guests raved about the quality and variety. Items which drew the most compliments included the couscous salad with pine nuts, feta, cherry tomatoes, green onion and basil and the grilled skirt steak with cilantro vinaigrette. It sounds weird, maybe, to rave about couscous, but it was just spectacular. Maybe the best part of the whole experience was just feeling as if Barbara & Company were like family. They took everything so seriously in terms of producing the best quality, but also made us feel comfortable and at home. We can't recommend them highly enough. What a great night it was with the most amazing food!

he best wedding food they had ever had, but one of their favorite meals. Marina was willing to get creative with our menu in multiple areas and the results were incredible! We wanted to have a cake made out of cheese for our cocktail hour and the time and effort she spent helping create the perfect display was unreal. She totally understood my idea and was just as excited to make it happen. She and her team were responsive, helpful, and overall a calming presence in the midst of wedding planning craziness! Plus, they are so kind. I felt so secure knowing that Barbara and Company was on our vendor team- if anything came up that day I knew that they would do whatever possible to make the event perfect! zing lady that you will be communicating and working with, is such a rare find. She is super friendly, outgoing, positive and an absolute pleasure to work with. She was very responsive to all questions in the year leading up to the wedding and went out of her way to make us feel as comfortable and happy as possible! She was open to our various ideas, our budget but also gave us incredibly helpful feedback based on her years of experience. She was responsive to our needs and answered all our questions promptly, even when we were emailing at random hours of the day. Everything was super-professional and we knew that we were in good hands. After our final meeting, where I had pages of details to cover, we didn't worry about anything because we knew everything would turn out perfect. Everything on the day ran so smoothly. Service was impeccable. Food looked and tasted beautifully, and there was such a variety of innovative food choices to select from. Guests commented on how delicious the food was and I even received emails from various guests, requesting Barbara and Company's contact information. We felt incredibly grateful that we were able to use Barbara and Company at our wedding and so thankful to Marina and everyone who worked with her to make our wedding day magical!

er 30 per person including tax and gratuity) that people raved about afterwards and said was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. We enjoyed three appetizers passed on trays by her staff during an appetizer hour before dinner. They were Corralitos (local) sausage, BBQ chicken pizza and chicken bites! yum! For dinner, we had tri-tip, grilled chicken in italian marinade, beautiful grilled vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, pesto pasta salad, caesar salad and I believe a spring mix salad.
She also handled the toast and cut all the cake slices.
She also made a care package for the husband and I of all our food including cake for after the wedding.
She cooked it all there in the kitchen while her partner, Victor grilled the meat outside.
She served waters and opened up the first bottles of wine. She set up a beautiful bar with our drinks (we had a BYOB venue) and we hired a couple girls we know to do drink service. It was perfect.
She set up the tables, centerpieces and a few decor pieces for a very low add-on fee.
Also, our DJ was pretty not good, and she picked up a lot of slack there!
