About this vendor
You’re here now, so I thought I’d let you in on the photography obsessed person behind the camera.
I am a DC, Virginia, and Maryland based wedding and lifestyle photographer. It’s pretty awesome to be located in the DMV in the Northeast where I’m lucky to serve couples in all the neighboring states. But let’s be honest, you should know I’ll jump on any opportunity to travel anywhere for my couples. I love adventure and documenting beautiful places.
I can be loud and I love to have fun. I also value being still and getting deep. I describe myself as an extroverted-introvert.
My photography style is journalistic and creative portraiture. Creativity to document candid moments between two people who are wildly crazy about each other is what fuels my passion. I will for sure help guide and pose you when needed, but ultimately let your individuality tell the story. My goal is that years from now when you look at your photos, I hope you feel the love, laughter, and bliss all over again.
If that describes everything you want in a photograph then I want to get to know you! With your unwritten stories and me as a trusty third wheel, we can create beautiful memories together!

We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Barbarah. We actually found her because she photographed our friends’ wedding, and after seeing their photos, we knew we had to wo...
rk with her. She exceeded every expectation.
From the very beginning, she was an absolute joy to work with and made us feel so comfortable and taken care of throughout the entire process.
On our wedding day, she captured everything so beautifully and so naturally. Every photo feels authentic and full of emotion, and somehow she managed to preserve not just how everything looked, but exactly how it felt. The love, the energy, and the quiet moments are all there in a way that feels so true to us.
When we received our sneak peeks, we were completely blown away. They instantly brought us right back to the day. Her eye for detail, composition, and storytelling is truly special.
Beyond her incredible talent, Barbarah is such a kind and calming presence, which made such a difference on a day that can feel overwhelming. We felt so lucky to have her by our side.
We would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone. She is exceptional at what she does, and we are so grateful she was part of our wedding!
Working with Barbarah for wedding photography was a dream. When showing potential photography vendors to our families, they unanimously voted for Barbarah based on the strength of ...
her portfolio. The day of, Barbarah and her husband were both calming and a source of positive energy, providing encouragement and suggestions for "poses," though nothing felt overly posed or unnatural. They diligently captured all of the shots we asked of them, and provided us a sneak peek less than a week after the wedding! Even from the sneak peek, Barbarah did an excellent job of capturing moments of joy and beauty throughout the first look and our wedding. She also made sure that even the most stunning shot felt candid and true to us as a couple. We cannot wait to see the full album, as we are already thrilled with the limited preview she generously provided.
I can’t recommend her enough! Barbarah and her husband were the most incredible duo and saved time by being able to split up and photograph the groomsmen and bridal party at the sa...
me time. We LOVED the use of flash photography at night especially as a couple who is shy in front of the camera! The pictures come out stunning and we felt so natural posing in the dark, truly a unique experience! The whole day was incredible and we got so many beautiful candid shots, we feel like they really captured our special moments without anything feeling forced. Everything turned out beautiful and we are forever grateful for all of our stunning photos!
My husband hired Barbarah to capture our surprise proposal and from that moment we knew we didn’t want anyone else to photograph our wedding. She has a cinematic style that capture...
s the true moments that are happening vs. those that are rehearsed or posed. That being said, if you don’t feel super comfortable or awkward in front of the camera she goes above and beyond to guide you and be your hype girl! Her work alone is 1000% worth every penny, but the calm, super friendly vibe she brings to each session and your special day really takes her over the top. She was so flexible when we changed our engagement photo location last minute even though it required her waking up at 3:00 AM to catch the sunrise with us. She captured our wedding day more beautifully than we ever could have imagined, we would choose her and Matias (her wonderful husband and second shooter!) over and over again!! I still haven’t stopped looking at our gallery and our friends and family have been raving over them as well. The photos are so beautiful and everything were hoping for! She makes every shot magazine worthy! She is amazing, we can’t recommend her enough.
I can’t speak more highly of Barbarah and her wonderful husband (and second shooter), Matias. They are true creatives at their core and I can’t think of anyone I’d trust more to ca...
pture such a momentous life event.
Aside from being the most professional, efficient, and artistic humans, they are the kindest souls that make you feel at ease behind the lens. From our initial consultation call, to our wedding day, and all the helpful questionnaires in between, my husband and I felt supported throughout the entire process. Barbarah is extremely organized and efficient, leaving no detail unturned.
We are so grateful to have such a special keepsake that will allow us to relive our wedding day for years to come. Barbarah and Matias’ photos truly convey every emotion we felt that day and more. My new husband and I are already finagling ways to work with Barbarah again!
This review is long overdue as our wedding ceremony was almost a year ago, however, my husband and I still rave about Barbarah and her husband to this day! They are such an amazing...
couple to work with. Barbarah was so sweet from our initial video chat all the way to the end of our wedding reception. She is extremely professional and does such a wonderful job of making you feel comfortable in front of the camera. I honestly can’t express in words just how talented and amazing she is as a photographer and human in general! I texted her after our wedding to tell her that we want to hang out with her and her husband - that’s how much we loved her and Matias. I am forever grateful that she was not only available, but also willing to be our photographer to brilliantly document two of the biggest celebrations (engagement and wedding) of our lives.
Barbarah absolutely crushed it!!! Not only is she very kind, accommodating, and creative but she is hands down one of the most talented photogs in the industry. When we got our wed...
ding sneak peek back, my hubby and I sat side by side on the couch for almost 2 hours just scrolling through everything and saying “OMG” every five seconds. She’s that good. Not kidding when I say I adore every photo and I’m notorious for being self critical about how I look in pics so this is a BIG deal coming from me. She made me look and feel beautiful all weekend. Hire her if you have the opportunity.
The best wedding investment we made was forgoing video and hiring Barbarah to capture our day. We will forever treasure her gorgeous photos that perfectly tell our story and portra...
y the joyous vibes of our wedding. We wanted a documentary-style photographer with an artistic style, NOT basic - someone who wouldn't make us do all the awkward wedding day poses - and we searched the DMV far and wide to find the perfect fit. Barbarah was a dream to work with for engagement photos (driving across Virginia to our preferred location), a secret boudoir shoot, and our wedding day. She was always kind and calm, a pleasure to have around, and gave helpful direction without being bossy. Bonus was having her husband Mathias join as her second shooter - so fun to have their happy, supportive, loving couple energy alongside us on our wedding day!
Barbarah is an incredible person. Once you start your journey with her she’s with you every step of the way. We postponed our wedding, went through a deployment, and a serious dose...
of family drama and the whole time Barbarah was one of the only constants and our biggest cheerleader. She’s more than one of your vendors, she loves openly and wholly and the photos she captures are a testament to how much she cares about her couples. We hate taking photos but we love being with her.

and i are not always super comfortable in front of a camera but Barbarah is always there to guide you through every step and hyped us up the entire time! She honestly made me feel so beautiful and empowered. When some of our sneak peaks came in, all of our friends and family were sooo impressed at how beautifully she captured our love in each picture. Each photo looked like it should be on the cover of a magazine! Barbarah goes beyond our expectations every time we worked with her and will continue to work with her for all of our milestones to come!!

han I expected. She is also so sweet and makes the whole process so fun and easy!!! Having Barbarah as our wedding photographer was the best decision I made and my favorite part of the whole wedding experience. We did both our engagement and wedding photos with Barbarah and her photos are LITERAL ART! She captures feeling in a way I’ve never seen before and she has given me photos that I will cherish for a lifetime. Choosing which photos to frame was nearly impossible because they were all so unbelievably amazing. She is talented beyond belief and I look forward to see everything she goes on to do.

ay and she found a great room within our hotel where we could take our wedding portraits. Nothing like a last minute change of schedule! Barbarah even let me borrow her coat between shots so I wouldn't freeze.
After the wedding, we received an awesome sneak peak within 2 days and it had all the key shots we wanted to be able to share on social media. True to her word, she got us the full set of photos one month later.
I would highly recommend Barbarah!

ots with questionnaires and helped us create a timeline and "shot list" for the wedding photos, to make sure we were able to capture all the photos we wanted without running out of time. She even accommodated some minor editing requests we had with the wedding photos. We highly recommend Barbarah to anyone in the DC area!

ng process she sent us wonderful emails and texts to see how we were doing, she even bought us something off of our registry, which was incredibly thoughtful. On the day of my wedding I was rattled with nerves, some major things had gone wrong, but Barbarah was so calm and she honestly help keep the flow of our wedding. When I saw the final images, I had just landed in Miami on my way to my honeymoon. We had a 3 hour layover in Florida before our next destination. You know what we did for three hours! We swooned over her sneak peak images of our special day! For 3 hours! (Husband is a photographer himself) They were so dreamy and I didn’t remember that I was so frazzled that day. Barbarah, In all her wonder, managed to capture every moment of joy on our faces and none of the frazzled nervousness. 😂 I’m so grateful to her for sharing her art with us and making our wedding day that much more special.

very photoshoot so fun and so comfortable, even if you don’t anticipate feeling very comfortable in front of the camera, you will. Barbarah has the best tricks to loosen you up and just have fun with the experience, which in turn makes you look much more natural in photos. She truly cares about her customers – making sure that you are as organized as possible for your wedding day, but also extremely go with the flow and can tell when you’re done with the formalities and just want to party 😊. I would recommend Barbarah one million times over!
