My mon, dad, and I met with Barbara after another "one stop shop" lost our business (Michelle with mountain weddings or something along those lines; email involves "chapel director" in name). When we met she was great: listened, took notes, flexible, tried to find pictures of previous weddings similar to what she was thinking or thought we were. The next week we got sn email saying she was already booked for that day but had forgotten and apologized profusely. She assured us in a later email that she COULD handle the two weddings in one day. As our big day got closer, we heard from her less and less. Also, we wanted to cut down on budget and asked her to itemize (with price) what she was providing. I'm not sure if she ever understood our request and we cut a fair amount but the cost went down very little. She told me that she would do a mock up if the bouquets and bouts and send me pictures for my approval. THIS NEVER HAPPENED even after several reminder emails and pictures of what I had in mind.
Day of the wedding, bouquets show up and they are tiny! To top it off, she used the wrong flowers after we had discussed both in person and via email (with pictures) what I wanted. My mother was livid especially since her friend made the centerpieces with the right kind of flowers. My mom asked her to either make everything again with the right flowers or give us a partial refund. Neither has happened so far.
I really wonder if it might be time for her to retire as there seems to be something not quite right/all there. She seemed to have a hard time understanding exactly what we wanted and then just did what she wanted anyway. Some guests thought she might have been on some sort of medication as she seemed loopy.
The food was fine but once again she forgot details we had discussed. It was displayed nicely and tasted ok but was nothing special and quite expensive to be honest. She also did my cake and I had cupcakes for guests. I never got to try any of it beforehand. The best advice I can give to a bride is to not expect perfection on your wedding day (in general, not just in relation to Barbara).
